    I just survived death a few hours ago in a traffic accident. Luckily I got out with only scars. Though many, I thank the Lord for giving me a chance for another day. Cars could've easily run through my body when I fell down in the middle of the road. But miracle happened. Lots of things are gonna be ruined for at least a year because I have to miss an important event of my life tomorrow. But I pray God will give me grace from other elements of life. I'm not even catechized yet and his miracles are already in my life? No! Life itself is a miracle!! Every human is blessed with it. Hopefully I can fully become a Christian before I run out of miracles.
    Pray for me and pray for everybody. IC XC NIKA.

    "... And a sigh can be a prayer". Well said, the key in the Orthodox faith is to love God and to want to be in His presence again just how it was meant to be, the promise that He will take us home where we will be in His presence forever shows just how much God loves us. Glory to the Holy Father, Holy Son and Holy Spirit.

    Very beautiful said by Father Arsensios. I’m at a split where I wish to live long to right my wrongs and go to church but it will take a while so I always pray St.Sophrony’s prayer for the extension of my miserable existence and that I might be allowed into the church with joy and hope. God bless everybody here and may God grant all souls many years that all might come to love the Lord at least as a fraction that He does us!

      Amin my brother (or sister) in Christ. I hope you are already united to the Holy Trinity through the Holy Baptism-Chrismation Sacraments. If Christ dwells within you, then you are already in heaven on earth! Can you please share the prayer of St Sophrony for a long mortal life to do penance for our sins?

      @@ryanlister4722 of course. Apologies for the confusion it seems as though my name didn’t change. I’m a male to clear up confusion. Here is the prayer. O Lord Eternal and Creator of all things,
      Who of Thine inscrutable goodness called me to this life;
      Who bestowed on me the grace of Baptism and the Seal of the Holy Spirit;
      Who imbued me with the desire to seek Thee, the one true God:
      Hear my prayer.
      I have no life, no light, no joy or wisdom, no strength except in Thee, O God.
      Because of my unrighteousness, I dare not raise my eyes to Thee.
      But Thou said to Thy disciples,
      'Whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing, you shall receive.'
      and 'Whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do.'
      Wherefore I dare to invoke Thee.
      Purify me from all taint of flesh and spirit.
      Teach me to pray aright.
      Bless this day which Thou givest unto me, Thine unworthy servant.
      By the power of Thy blessing enable me at all times to speak and act to Thy glory
      with a pure spirit, with humility, patience, love, gentleness, peace, courage and wisdom,
      aware always of Thy presence.
      Of Thine immense goodness, O Lord God, show me the path of Thy will,
      and grant me to walk in Thy sight without sin.
      O Lord, unto Whom all hearts be open,
      Thou knowest what things I have need of.
      Thou art acquainted with my blindness and my ignorance,
      Thou knowest mine infirmity and my soul's corruption;
      But neither are my pain and anguish hid from Thee.
      Wherefore I beseech Thee, hear my prayer
      and by Thy Holy Spirit, teach me the way wherein I should walk;
      and when my perverted will would lead me down other paths,
      spare me not, O Lord, but force me back to Thee.
      By the power of Thy love, grant me to hold fast to that which is good.
      Preserve me from every word or deed that corrupts the soul;
      from every impulse unpleasing in Thy sight and hurtful to my brother-man.
      Teach me what I should say and how I should speak.
      If it be Thy will that I make no answer,
      inspire me to keep silent in a spirit of peace
      that causes neither sorrow nor hurt to my fellow man.
      Establish me in the path of Thy commandments
      and to my last breath let me not stray from the light of Thine ordinances,
      that Thy commandments may become the sole law
      of my being on this earth and all eternity.
      Yea, Lord, I pray to Thee, have pity on me.
      Spare me in my affliction and my misery
      and hide not the way of salvation from me.
      In my foolishness, O God, I plead with Thee for many and great things.
      Yet am I ever mindful of my wickedness, my baseness, my vileness.
      Have mercy upon me.
      Cast me not away from your presence because of my presumption.
      Do Thou, rather, increase in me this presumption,
      and grant unto me, the worst of men,
      to love Thee as Thou hast commanded, with all my heart, and with all my soul,
      and with all my mind, and with all my strength: With my whole being.
      Yea, O Lord, by Thy Holy Spirit, teach me good judgment and knowledge.
      Grant me to know Thy truth before I go down into the grave.
      Maintain my life in this world until I may offer unto Thee worthy repentance.
      Take me not away in the midst of my days, nor while my mind is still blind.
      When Thou shalt be pleased to bring my life to an end,
      forewarn me that I may prepare my soul to come before Thee.
      Be with me, O Lord, at that dread hour and grant me the joy of salvation.
      Cleanse me from secret faults, from all iniquity that is hidden in me;
      and give me a right answer before Thy judgment-seat-
      Yea, Lord, of Thy great mercy and immeasurable love for mankind.

    Who are the ones doing God's will as Jesus said at Matthew 7:21, that would be persecuted as Jesus said at John 16:1-4 ? Who are the ones spoken of at Revelation 6:9-11, that had been "slaughtered" or killed "because of the witness they had given" about God, whose name is Jehovah (see Isa 12:2, KJV), his Son Jesus (John 3:16), and about a heavenly government called God's Kingdom ?(Matt 6:10)
    Is Mr Arsenie Papacioc among those who have done this assigned work of making known "the good news of the Kingdom" that Jesus said would be accomplished during his "presence" ?(Matt 24:3, 14) Is he among those who are "NO PART of the world" with its divisive politics ?(John 15:19) Since Revelation 6 speaks of the death of those who were given a "white robe" to wear because they measured up to Jehovah's holy standards, with "holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion" (2 Pet 3:11), and told to "rest a little while longer" in the grave, then what is death ?
    At Ecclesiastes 9, it says: "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know NOTHING at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun........Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might (while alive), for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going (when a person dies)."(Ecc 9:5, 6, 10)
    This is the same as what Jehovah God told Adam after his rebellion in the garden of Eden, that "in the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”(Gen 3:1-6, 19)
    Thus, at death, a person ceases to exist, returning to the ground from which they came. At Psalms 115:17, it says: "The dead do not praise Jah; Nor do any who go down into the silence of death." So, in death, there is "silence", NOT screaming in "hell", as the churches of Christendom falsely teach.
    At Psalms 146, it says that either of "princes" or of just ordinary people, that when they die, "his spirit (or active life force, that is like electricity for an appliance) goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish", so that those who have died, no longer exist.(Ps 146:3, 4)
    Now at Isaiah 26, it gives the hope for some of mankind who qualifies, to receive a resurrection from the dead, saying: "Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, you residents in the dust ! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, and the earth will let those powerless in death come to life."(Isa 26:19; see also Job 14:13-15)
    Jesus as Jehovah's appointed judge of "both the living and the dead" (2 Tim 4:1), will determine who qualifies and who does not, to see life again.(John 5:22)
