But plagues, diseases etc are nothing new. Why was the response of the Church today new and not the same as the response in the past to plagues? For a disease with a 99.9% survival rate we drastically changed our liturgy and introduced blasphemous acts into the Liturgy. We taught people that the Eucharist and the Holy Icons can be sources of disease and sickness. Forgive me but we need to be a lot more serious about what happened and take a look at ourselves.
I appreciate some of Bishops comments about compromising the church's witness. However, it's frustrating how at some points he seems to tiptoe around the conflicts in the church and use the passive voice. Un-Christian factions and behavior within the church needs to be named, rebuked, and not avoided anymore. If not in this kind of interview, it needs to be done elsewhere.
I think he isn't tiptoeing he's being humble. God said " Let the wheat and the tears grow together, and I will do the separating when I come." You want this servant of God to do separating and he knows in humility that this video is not the place or time. Let us not be prideful and assume we are in the stock God will keep. You want him to call out and be specific well then let's rightfully assume he would naming you and me. Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner.
@@dabarefootbombshellI'd agree. I think he's also trying to avoid creating too much scandal and division. He would not want to scandalise someone with his own opinion when he knows it could be wrong or even spiritually harmful to a person. On top of that, it is not good to uncover our brother's sins. This is why Christ prescribes us to go to our brother in private first before we try to bring others into it. It is better to help our brother overcome his sin privately so as not to scandalise others or cause others to stumble. That doesn't mean there isn't a time to approach an issue more publicly. But Vladyka probably knows how his fellow bishops feel about some of these issues and doesn't wish to scandalise them or lambast them for how they handled certain issues. He is very gracious and I think we should be gracious towards our bishops as well. Who knows what tremendous temptations they have that us laity does not.

Critics of Fr Seraphim are unenlightened. Toll Houses are clear Orthodox Dogma. The Monks of Mt Athos conform to this as well, and MANY recent Elders.
