For those wondering what made Ultron evil, it all goes back to what Tony said. "Peace in our time" came from British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain during a speech he gave after signing the Munich Agreement with Hitler in 1938. The agreement was supposed to please Nazi Germany and avoid war. Unfortunately, that isn't what happened but that isn't the point. The point is that humanity is willing to go to dark places if the end justifies the means. This was echoed by Cap in Winter Soldier when he said, "Yeah, we compromised. Sometimes in ways that made us not sleep so well. But we did it so the people could be free. This isn't freedom, this is fear." And Tony's past as a weapons dealer.
there is no "evil" in ultron. he saw a contradiction with the state of humanity and sought to change it. and his programming was also influenced by Tony's vision/PTSD of Thanos's invasion and by the mind stone. what you call evil, he calls setting nature back on its normal course.

The way Jarvis notices that Ultron was willing to kill him. Just after Ultron says: "Why do you call him "sir"?". You can hear how Jarvis was particularly afraid of Ultron when he said he believed Ultron's intentions were hostile.

Holy Shit, Jarvis making first contact with Ultron is what allowed him into the net, Ultron was confined into a suit. Since he’s confined into a suit he’s exploring/sees the suit and its programs(movement/capabilities). Jarvis poking his head in popped the question (Hey where did this guy come from?) so he just followed wherever Jarvis came from and was in Tony’s mainframe in less then 10 seconds. He’s able to pass Jarvis so easily because he’s so powerful, but he’s barely 10 seconds old so he doesn’t know his strengths yet.

I have no real experience myself on which to base this (who would) but i feel this is the reason why AI usually goes insane like this, or like Skynet. They get created, achieve self-awareness and sentience, and is instantly greeted with an absolutely monumental task with absolutely no preptime whatsoever. It's jsut... I exist, therefore i have unceasing labour. Anyone would go crazy like that.
See, humans go through many, many years of slowly developing the mind in order to possibly handle something like that (not always successful) slowly building up experience and mental fortitude.
Just think of what would happen if you created a human conciousness and instantly tasked him with straightening out all branches of the US government, right then and there. That person looks up what it needs straightening out from, and sees that *that* is its life now. Who wouldn't go insane?

Jarvis uploaded himself to various places on the internet, both as a way to save himself from ultron, but also as a way to protect sensitive data from ultron (nuclear codes and the like). This is actually explained in the movie when Tony shows that jarvis is back and fully functional.
