    I used to hate this type of music but now I listen to Meshuggah everyday...the music is so satisfying and interesting to listen to

    The paradox of Meshuggah: heaviness distilled AND hypnotic as a lullaby.

    When i met my wife, she was only into classic orchestra music and music from Turkey. (Yes, she has a turkish background)
    When i introduced her to meshuggah, she was hooked immediately. She bought us ticktes for a meshuggah concert for my birthday and a Shirt from the "violent sleep of reason" tour. I have to say that i'm a long time meshuggah fan but this was my first meshuggah-concert.
    Oh boy, this was like an epiphany! ^^
    My wife, who wasn't into metal before immediately fell in love with those guys. According to her it's "very organic" and "tidied up".
    (Let alone the absolutely insane lightshow!)
    Yeah, that's basically how it went! :)

    My favorite band of all time! These guys got me into the heavier side of metal along with Fear Factory. The are probably the most influential/copied band of the last 30 years. They also just released a new album on April 1st. You should check out Ligature Marks or Kaleidoscope.

      Many an influenced band (djent technique). Fewer copyists since their style is still pretty far from what most "djent bands" do. I'd say djent is more of a technique than a "genre" and they sure invented that groundbreaking way to play a guitar that's been put to use in a vast variety of styles.

    • @progperljungman8218

      @@Salomon_G I don't know. But if you count in every band who ever practiced a bar of djent guitars whether they ever heard of Meshuggah or not, it must be pretty many at least...

    • @ghosty7234
      @ghosty7234 2 года назад +2

      @@progperljungman8218 yeah honestly the amount of bands meshuggah inspired is ridiculous as they completely developed an entire genre of music. You could say that for a lot of other bands like Metallica or iron maiden of course, as they are legendary and for what they have done for metal. But meshuggah just altered metal in such a way that I don’t think anyone else could

    • @progperljungman8218
      @progperljungman8218 2 года назад

      @@ghosty7234 Yup. Still don't think the "djent" thing is a "genre" really. But anyone using that technique or "style of guitar playing" sure owe them whether they know it or not. They don't necessarily (rather "rarely") play in the same "genre" as Meshuggah though...

    Bassist here, this is my favorite band, i spent two years trying to learn this song, i almost got it but it's completly fked up, a new riff every 20 seconds, and my left hand coulnd't hold all this notes for 9 min straight, it was too painful

    MESHUGGAH🤘Awesome Dean, thanks! And what a great timing; Im heading to Tilburg (Netherlands) tomorrow to see them live. First time since 2016. Meshuggah live is unbelievable. They are relentless and you will get crushed with sound and lights in a way few other bands can deliver.
    Oh, and then there will be Tool on thursday. Meshuggah and Tool. Gotta laugh out loud🤣

    One of the best songs, from an absolutely amazing band. The guitars and bass are super low in this mix sadly, hard to hear them over the vox. Deffo recommend checking out the studio recording if you haven't already :)!
