27 years ago, I had a friend who gave me 2 tickets to a concert at First Avenue here in Mpls, and the bill was House of Pain, Biohazard, and this band with a funny name Korn. I wasn't a fan of any of the acts, and I had never heard of Korn, but it was a show and free. Me and my girlfriend at the time made jokes all week leading up to the show about this bands name, Korn. The day of the show, we came to a packed house. Lights went down, and I see these 4 guys walk onto the stage, the drummer hitting the ride cymbal. Next came a bass line that was intriguing. Then the guitars, and it was a sound i had never heard from a guitar, let alone a 7 string (we were right up front). Then, this skinny dreadlocked guy comes out, sporting a bright purple ADIDAS outfit. And then, 3 words were screamed with intensity that changed my life forever. The band kicked into Blind, and i was hooked instantly! The show absolutely blew me away. Every somg was a monster adrenaline run! 27 years later, I own all of their albums, 18 live shows, I was able to meet them, multiple posters, shirts. Korn is just as relative today as they were 27 years ago. No matter what they release, I will support, either as a band or solo projects (except Fieldys Dream, every fan has their limits). To say Korn is my favorite band is a massive understatement. And this year, they WILL be on that Hall of Fame ballot, and WILL be inducted! To Jonathan Davis, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, Brian "Head" Welch, James "Munky" Shaffer, David Silveria, and Ray Luzier, THANK YOU for creating the kick ass music you have for the past 27 years!! Here's to another 27!!!

Wow, what a great interview with Jonathan Davis! I truly enjoyed watching this. Jon is such an awesome guy. He's been my idol for 24 years. It's really hard to believe just how much time has gone by... He'll always be my favorite lyricist. His lyrics have saved my life on more than one occasion throughout the last 24 years. Very thankful to this man... He'll always have my respect and gratitude.
OMG!!!!! Jonathan, is so sweet, talented and HOTT!!!!!!! He REALLY seems like someone you can kick it with...like to have a coffee, beer or roll a joint with. I grew up with their stuff and still jam to their early work. Fan for life!!!! I'm glad he does these things. It really makes a difference and so does his music with Korn.
This interview is fricking awesome, great content, i mean how can you not like Jonathan Davis?? Most kind, down to earth legend!!! rock on Jon and...stay..strong??!! wtf i didnt mean that to rhyme lol
I know exactly what dude at 49:52 is talking about. You can hear it at the beginning of freak on a leash ( I Believe Jonathan says something) intro to BBK (there is a whistle like it was continuing from a different track like Dead Bodies Everywhere to Children of the Korn) and probably more
This man is a living legend, and I am so goddamn happy and proud to be able to call myself a fan of his band and life`s work, both as a solo or band or whatever artist. KoRn really changed, inspired and saved my ever-content-changing life innumerous times, and continues to do so, and by now it feels like an anchor to reality and emotions. Thank you guys for existing and being the way you are! Btw, I`m 29 and I have been listening to KoRn since I was 11. Watching Jonathan talk makes me cry, feel and feel close to him I'd love to sit and tell him my story hug and cry with him. I wish the innocent weren't hurt and abused its makes life non appealing and not worth living I wonder sometimes what it would've been like to have a normal life. But fuck I'm still here right thanks for listening ❤️
cool interview! I would have liked to be there, but I would probably have been too shy to ask him anything :) i can't wait for the book.. an audiobook would be very great because i love his voice, no matter if he sings or talks :) ! he can freak me out and calm me down and many feelings in between.. The reason I listen to music is that I am already in a mood or would like to get myself in a mood. Korn / JD has a song for everything! He will always be my favorite artist and i wish him all the best...
Man those old days when music and everything about the musicians was a mystery were certainly the good ole days!! Social media has changed so much....little for the better....
Wholeheartedly know what he's talking about. I'm just a little bit older than him and came from Bakersfield myself. All we had were vinyl LPs and cassettes. And like he said magazines like Hit Parader, etc. And our imagination. Social media has messed everything up.
