I love how Jonathan isn't just dark for the sake of being dark. He doesn't hestitate to list some influnces that aren't edgy at all. Much respect for authenticity.
I love how Davis just admits he’s a novice when it comes to his knowledge of metal music that he just grew up on hip hop and funk music and applied it’s influences to his band. Really explains all the unique quirks of the bands music.
mariofromthabarrio Me too, my kids were teens in the 90's and all I heard from their rooms when they'd get home from school was Korn. They were my first!!! 😁😁🖤🖤🤘🤘
My favourite vocalist of all time. I got to meet Jonathan when I was a VIP at the Dublin, Ireland KoRn show back in 2012. What a legend! If you haven't listened to their new album The Nothing yet, get on it, it's amazing!
Watching him talking about the music he grew up with, the music he loves Is soooo Amazing, plus he looks fine wich Is sooo relieving, I know the pain Will never go away, but he Is going on with Life and this Is very good. I really Hope that the Kids are fine...
I wanna personally thank JD for introducing me to what now is my all-time favorite band, Acid Bath...he mentioned them as one of his favorites in an interview about 15 years ago and I was blown away when I checked them out...Dax Riggs is so underrated it's criminal
I've been to well over 300 concerts in the last 40 years and I have to be honest with myself that the energy level of Korn and the sheer talent of JD sticks out to me. I have to say they're at least in my top 3 but, that's only due to the fact I seen Pantera when they first came out and, Shannon Larkin from Godsmack was in a band in the 80s called Wrathchild but they found out a band in London i believe was named the same so..they changed it to Wrathchild America and they were young and playing Shiley Acres in West Virginia and Wow what a show!! Shannons one of the sickest drummers out.
@@ALL_that_ENDS He has relaxed over the years though. In his early years his arms were crossed so tightly I can almost feel the tension in MY arms. And playing with that hair which he still does. His lyrics helped me overcome my depression and anxiety. (And will again if I have to fight it in the future)
I wish JD solo album got more love. I seen him twice during his solo tour for it and it was amazing! Ray played drums and the rest of the band just had a great vibe and sounded great 😃Smaller venues and some awesome music!

Just saw Korn last week in Columbus, awesome show!!! Once saw George Clinton Parlaiment Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins play at a hippie campground, on 3 hits of LSD. It was also an awesome show!!!
Even when he said "When KoRn hit everything, when we were on top of our game" it's with a nostalgic smile on his face. A man who knows his prime has passed, but he's cool with it, because nothing will ever take away how big they were and how important they still are.
5:33 who would’ve ever thought Jon would be a fan of Bobby brown that album was good and Bobby from my hometown of Boston jd and he knows his history like prince Rick James fued showing Jon is open to all music much respect
So, Korn has been my favorite band for the past 21 years. Seen them the most in concerts. Just got into Run The Jewels last year and will be seeing them in concert with Rage against the machine this summer. Always wondered what JD would think of RTJ. So, this was ironic...

Whoa--wait, its called boogie funk now--wtf??? Hello hold the phone dude, I've been calling it disco, I'm 57yrs old and all I ever did was go to the roller rink, so I know of all that kind of music as well. Then my love of rock hit!!! 😁😁 Omg George Clintons song "Atomic Dog", now theres a great song!!!! Parliaments song "Flashlight", shit what great music!! I got to say hi and tell him I was a huge fan which he said thanks but was in no mood to engage any further and I could respect that. But I really remember is that he had a copy of CANNIBAL CORPSE'S 15 YEAR KILLING SPREE. Pretty Awesome.
I went and listened to that Drab Majesty album after watching this, it was pretty dope, I think it's considered vapor wave. Nice to listen to when you ready to drift off to sleep after smokin' a little
19:18 Finally an interview where more is said about the work with Nas. I always wanted to know and could never find any info. Over the phone, huh. Interesting.
6 6 6 the number of the beast!!! Run to the hills!! Run for your life!!!! and I already like Venom and haven't even heard of them before, I'll have to look them up. Cool video man. I grew up listening to 80s funk and Rap cause that's all my dad bumped in his Cadillac wherever he went. What a trip though in highschool I was a big korn fan. Who would've know that Jonathan Davis is a funk fan and a DJ back in the day. They were my first concert. Saw them on the sick and twisted tour with staind at the arrowhead pond. Best show ever. I saw david silveria at the aloha grill once when I was out with my chick and some friends. Wanted to go up to him but was so nervous that he might be a dick. So I never went up to him. He had like his hair dyed in circles or something it was the coolest shit ever. Korn will always be one of my favorite bands and actually one of the bands that influenced me to play drums.
I love how Jonathan isn't just dark for the sake of being dark. He doesn't hestitate to list some influnces that aren't edgy at all. Much respect for authenticity.
JD has to be one of the most down to earth frontman out there... you can tell he was a musical sponge and took influence from anything and everything.
I love how Davis just admits he’s a novice when it comes to his knowledge of metal music that he just grew up on hip hop and funk music and applied it’s influences to his band. Really explains all the unique quirks of the bands music.
Thats why it became what it became
It's basically JD and Fieldy who are the hip hop/funk heads
I don't listen to those classic metal bands like Black Sabbath either so it was interesting to here a famous face of metal say that
@@deckofcards87 Nah Head and Munky also have said they were all big hiphop fans. NWA, I’ve Cube, Cypress Hill etc
Jonathan is a real guy! No arrogance, just himself and real! Amazing!
Damn, Jonathan shares more about his childhood and parents in this video than any I have ever heard before!
Great to see Jon with a smile on his face and having a laugh. 😊❤
Nothing surprises me about JD anymore. This other dude is cool af and super knowledgeable. I like this will definitely check out some other stuff.
cool and friendly
J Perkins I subbed this channel solely on watching this one vid after 5 min I was down tf with this. JD tuffffff
I love seeing Jon passionately talking about vinyl...epic stuff right there! Their friendship and commonality of music is a breath of fresh air!

Thanks for your love and your support I really appreciate for being a great fans ❤️
How can JD be so charming and so natural? It really makes you want to talk and hang out with him as much as possible.
Jonathan Davis is so down to earth and chill! 😍

Korn is the reason I got into Rock, Heavy Rock, Metal, AND playing drums! Run the Jewels definitely need to be checked out.

It's too bad he doesnt do meet and greets anymore
@@nathanbarth7909 I'm sure they'll do meet and greets again.
Hope so..guessing it's because of the issues hes had in the last few years and doesnt want to talk about it with fans

Awesome job Chris. Way to show our hometown some 🖤. JD is so humble. Literally one of the best frontmen of our generation.
Agreed, he is so humble and just has this sensitive presence that makes you want to protect him.
JD is a pretty chill dude. I would love to meet him and the band in person.

Kashmir is a life-changing song. I laughed when Jonathan answered "Led Zeppelin" without hesitation. Real recognize real. Much love to DJ C minus.
Jonathan seems like such a chill, unassuming dude. Hard to believe he was a rock God on top of the world 20 years ago.

Jonathan and his v-necks. I LOVE Korn.

only BREALTV dropping fire interviews with Jonathan Davis ...dope
