His voice is literally the soundtrack to my life . Honestly they are my favorite band of all time. Just turned 30. Started listening to them when I was 12. I’ve seen Korn 6 times.
This man has been through some tough emotional stuff. I'm so glad I've got to meet him and the rest of the band multiple times, shared stories and gave them demos of my music. I've been a Korn fan since 1995 when I first heard "Shoots And Ladders" on the radio when and about 2 weeks later I saw their music video for "Blind" on MTV late at night when my parents were out at the bar, and vividly remember jumping on the couch and breaking a table lamp - my parents came home about 10 minutes later and my stepdad beat the shit out me. It was another beating I took when he was drunk. Life experiences like this are the main reason why Korn is my all time favorite band because Jon sings about abuse and BS I've been through, I was 12 years old when I discovered them on my own, got to meet them at their Korn Kampaign '98 when they released' Follow The Leader'. And multiple times afterwards. This band is my Beatles.
I would give anything to meet them all. They're my favorite band and I'm so excited to go to their concert this month, it'll be my first one ever. They mean a whole lot to me
The best day of my life was last year october 26th when I met Johnathan Davis when he was solo touring. I bought $200 Vip tickets and it was soooo worth it. @Ewolf5150 No man I totally get him, have you ever experiencenced so much rage yoh want to hurt someone/yourself or you just need a release, maybe you shout, maybe you become depressed... Well, KoRn is pure emotion, it's got tempo changes is has rage and Jonathan Davis puts his raw thoughts and feelings into these songs and into his live performances and if you know then you just know how it feels to headbang along, feeling the words, the dark dirty bass, everything has personality... He may be just a man, but so was jesus if you get me... I didnt know id write for so long lmao

Just happened to run across this interview and gotta say jon is such an inspiration for me. My husband wz killed in april 2018 n my art saved me as well. Getting lost in tht zone while ur heart is breaking is the best thing for the soul. The grieving sucks ass!! It hits ya in the weirdest times nd it just sucks ass! Its always there but we have zero choice but to learn to live with it all. Much love to Jon n his family
Jonathan is the bomb dot com. Such a calmness about him in this interview & how his eyes light up when he talks about his kids & his art. What a beautiful man 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I thank JD and the rest of Korn for everything they have done. Their music helped me through a lot of dark times in my life in recent years and if it weren't for them showing me that it's okay to open up and talk about the negative things, I probably wouldn't be here today. Through the negative comes the positive, and they taught me that through that first Korn record. Thank you, Korn.
Loved seeing Jon just relaxing and answering questions at his own pace. Breaks my heart to know that I want to, and may never see him and the rest of KORN at a live show in my life. I've been a solid fan and still listen to them quite often still to this day, new shit, and the classic shit. Jon and I have alot in common when it comes to shitty backgrounds growing up, and trying to find our way in life. He's got 3 great kids, I and my girl can't have kids, "MY" darkness continues on with our attempts and heart-wrenching dissapointments. I've tried to get bands going, but got screwed in the end because I wanted more, and the rest wanted to make what people expected to hear, leaving me in the darkness. I was super fucking excited when HEAD came back to the band. At that point in my life, I thought to myself....he can do it, Why can't I? I found the love of my life, and try my best to make life whole. I've come to terms with not being able to see my favorite, and first rock/metal band live in concert, but still dream about it, and bow my head to those guys for still doing it, just as solid as the old days. I send my love from PEI, Canada, and wish KORN all the best in the future. Maybe someday this broken man will see his Idol s in concert.

Nicholas Herman yup it was the closest to the stage I've ever been
Ash Maybe nice he did it outdoors here at a festival
I’m so in love with him
I pray that you JD heal from the dark cloud that has been following you, please remember us die hard fans love you so much and it seems dark clouds are over most of us and know that we don’t want to lose you in the process, congratulations on having two beautiful children that you know need you as much as we do,please keep strong and thank you for all your brilliant work
For some reason I always forget that Jon's a gamer.
It feels so good to see Jonathan feeling good. Hero of my childhood. 25 Years wow.
He's probably one of my favorite persons on this planet. He's so tough, resiliant and yet so sweet. I love him.
The first I ever heard Korn was from the Street Fighter Anime, Blind was played at the very end and it blew my socks off. Been a die hard fan since
His voice is literally the soundtrack to my life . Honestly they are my favorite band of all time. Just turned 30. Started listening to them when I was 12. I’ve seen Korn 6 times.
Amazing. Me too, I'm 31 🙂 I cannot wait for February to get their next album. I can't believe we get another album, I'm so grateful.
They mean a whole lot to me
This interview was excellent!! Good job Kerrang!! Much respect to you. I love long JD interviews because it shows how humble he is as a person. 🐐
The best day of my life was last year october 26th when I met Johnathan Davis when he was solo touring. I bought $200 Vip tickets and it was soooo worth it. Ive been a fan since i was 5 (now 17) and im so excited for Korn, Tool, and slipknot this year. God bless you Johnathan.
also my initials are JD as well ;)
I went that day too!!
Tiffany oh wow! If you saw a white kid, wearing a Korn shirt it mightve been me lol!
Since 5! Your parents must be the best!
@@tudalu Yep!
Yep, you sound like a kid alright
excellent interview . my fav vocalist ever ..25 fn amazing yrs jds lyrics changed and inspired me gave a place where i could take all my rage and pain the only person my entire life i ever felt understood me cuz he was experiencing the same thing im lost for words just how much this s.o.b means to me jd is and will forever be my idol ..
Korn has made a profound impact in my life in so many ways.
He looks tired like this album took a lot outta him. We are gonna get a great album
He started off by saying he was jetlagged, so we can forgive him a little lack of energy I suppose.
But yeah, the album is going to rock as ever!
The album was done months ago
PatientMental couldint let me have it huh. I’m done with this chat. You’ll never find me
Flying from America to London is a LOONNNGGG trip.. I'd be fucked aswell lol
I'm so happy for Jon. This is the interview I've been waiting for since Devens passing. Nuff respect to the guy! We love you Jon! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Jonathan is hands down one of my favorite musicians/people. Met him at ROTR and such a humble, kind human. Sending love to him. Hope he's doing well
It'll get better brotha. One day at a time and one foot in front of the other. I'm absolutely sure your kids are proud of you!
"I love it, it just makes me feel i am doing something positive. Out of my pain came something good and that's the reason why i am here. I could retired long time ago, i don't have to do this, i love helping kids and i love making art. So here i am." - i got goosebumps, thank you for those beautiful honest words. Love you Jon. 🙏🏻

i love jonathan davis, a huge part of what shaped me as a person, is his music, so i'm thankful for that
The pain and truth in his eyes paints a vivid picture
I've been a Korn fan since mid nineties, i have never categorized them they are their own genre . Im still blown away that each album they release is incredibly polished, emotionally lyrically eloquent and awesome AF 🤘
My idol, what a great guy. Loved watching this
A legend alive. I so admire you JD, just keep on going, you are an awesome being! congrats for the interview, excellent, very informative , down to earth. this is what I call an interviewer! JD was really comfortable!
What a great interviewer. Simple questions and allows him to speak. Wish all interviews could be like this.
Every album is amazing in my opinion. I just love how they pour their heart and soul into their music and that alone makes them the best.
JD is so awesome & humble. Keep your head up man✌💫🌟✨
I'm lost
You'll never find me 🤘

Man just listening to this man talk...gives me hope for humanity...
Unapologetically real and sincere Jonathan as always! I love this man! I would really enjoy a KoЯn collab with Celldweller, that's gonna be the most epic shit ever for sure!
Jonathan is truly an inspiration, such a well spoken, well carried person, always with a smile when things are going bad. Class act and a living legend.
Korn is the sole survivor of rock.
JD seems to be doing well despite everything.
Your lyrics saved many life's!
Never forget that
Ditto. No exaggeration.
I love you Jonathan, you are so genuine, thank you for all the strength you gave me with your voice and lyrics.
People say Nü Metal is irrelevant but Korn is still around so Nü Metal isn’t irrelevant that much like people claim
The way it seems they all poured their soul into this album between jons rough 18 months and brians spiritual transformation this forthcoming album is gonna explode speakers hearts and expectations i know JD dont read RUclips comments but he knows were all behind him his passion and what he pours out has saved me on multiple occasions i hope he knows how much he has helped all of us and now we owe it to him ✊✊💜💜
As an artist you can never stop creating and I'm glad to see he still has the energy to keep creating. Like he siad he could have retired but all the creative flow needs an outlet
Damn if its darker then issues that's pretty dark
Fax bruh😂😂
The dark ones usually bring out his best...
Extremely dark... whole album is out now!!
What about self titled?
Johnathan is a beautiful soul. I understand about darkness following a person. Mine began at age 2 and continues today.
Jon you're such an inspiration! ❤ It broke my heart to hear what you've been going through! I got so much love for you man.
"Life's too short, I'm just having a good time... I'm just going to do what I love and hopefully people dig it."
-J.D.
We dig it! We love you man, keep up the great work.
Awesome to hear JD speak about his Skinny Puppy & Industrial influences. Can’t wait to hear the new album. Take core JD
Skinny puppy is great
Music can heal... it’s cathartic and I feel many people’s lives would be a lot worse without bands like Korn to retreat to.
Such a legend and he’s handling a tough situation well. Hopefully he’ll find peace because for many years his music has helped me find some.
I love everything about this interview; the lighting, the aesthetic, the interviewer, the audience... but especially the incredible human being interviewed!!!
I am going see them this tour no matter what. I have seen them 4 times and can't wait.
FUCK YEAH JONATHAN!!! YOU'RE SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO ME!!! KEEP ON GOING MY MAN ❤️💜❤️💜💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️ KoRn FOR LIFE!!!
What a lovely guy.
Album going to be a beast. I hope it has a lot of screams and emotional breakdowns.
I love Jonathan! He's such a beautiful human being!
I swear I need to meet this man and the band! He is just such a beautiful and unique person ♡♡
From the moment I heard Korn I was in love and still am. You guys are absolutely amazing.
I feel so bad for Jonathan. He is an amazing person and good dad to his 3 sons. I am 62 yrs old and still love Korn.
