you really should do the gorgoroth song in this video. the live version: God Seed / Gorgoroth - Prosperity and Beauty (Live @ Wacken Open Air 2008) is the name. its awesome
I didn't like him in Gorgoroth. He was the weakest of the vocalists there - definitely not as good as Pest. But i love him in Gaahls Wyrd. His goals are much stronger in that band.
Fun fact: At (4:11) gorgoroth plays. Einar Selvik, who is the front-figure of Wardruna, which you have featured twice before, was the drummer in Gorgoroth.
As intimidating as Gaahl looked in that short clip, which was the whole point, he was a pretty impressive frontman when he was in Gorgoroth, a very distinctive vocal, not just the scream, had a very good clean singing as well, if you wanted to look into him further, one song comes to mind is "Frofetens Aperbaring", the whole song's in Norwegian, but does a lot of that song in a very operatic baritone voice, he's able to do a lot with his voice, you might be surprised!
The lead singer of Behemoth (Adam Darski) the first band in the video, has also a country/blues project called "Me and That Man" where he Is the singer too. You should react to him, he has an incredible voice for that music genre.

██ Why isn't there any reaction to Alex Terrible & his Slaughter To Prevail in your channel? For example to: "Slaughter To Prevail - DEMOLISHER" v=79ojlwMzs0Q
I'd love to see your reaction to Greg Puciato. Although most people probably can't see past his insane live performances and are intimidated - or put off - by his intense vocals, if you make it through to any of the more melodic or jazzy parts in The Dillinger Escape Plan's songs you'll find that this guy is insanely versatile. It's an acquired taste, I guess - but definitely the most visceral singer/performer I've ever come across. (The Dillinger Escape Plan - I Wouldn't If You Didn't / - Symptom of a Terminal Illness / and just in case Dillinger is too much, do listen to The Black Queen. ("Taman Shud" is wonderful)
Thanks for this, I was scrolling and scrolling, and not a word about Greg - he is such an amazing vocalist. His range and technique are astonishingly wide. I would also recommend "Black Bubblegum" cause it's not that insane and presenst his range of techniques quite well.
Fun fact, #3 Gaahl's band are one of the very few bands who actually claim to worship Satan. The guitarist literally says he believes and worships Satan while the others are more metaphorical about it. Unexpectedly, Gaahl is also a bit of a celebrity gay icon to some in Norway.
Seeing Tom Araya -Slayer- in an interview, he sounded like a funny, smart, family guy. Just laughing and talking about how he learned, and kids. You should see Henry Rollins about 40 years ago when he was in Black Flag. Just crazy, wild, punk rock...
The late Warrel Dane was my favourite vocalist, the power and emotion in his voice was astonishing. I'd recommend The Heart Collector, Believe in Nothing, Sentient 6, Inside Four Walls, Messenger or Brother
Ghaal is such a great and nice guy in person when you talk to him. The naked girl on the cross at that tour is my girlfriends sister, she shared a room with him during the tour and said he was always just nice and calm.
Favorite metal vocalists: Rob Halford Michael Kiske Bruce Dickinson Dio Lemmy Kilimister King Diamond Kai Hansen Ian Gillan non metal: Jeff Buckley James Brown
Both Orion and Nergal (first two) of Behemoth are just the nicest guys! They might look scary on stage, but off stage they are just awesome. Not sure I've ever met a metal artist who is scary or anything, vast majority have just been really nice.
I’m my opinion dir en grey’s vocalist is one vocalist who just does not get enough attention for his vocal range and creativity aswell as his ability to express so much emotion. You need to react more to their stuff pls :)
@AAAAA Yeah that's Kyo. They kinda rose to fame at a random time in the 2000s because of the Obscure music video. He goes from screams, to growls, to cleans and whistles. The live versions of Obscure are always solid despite what he is singing about in the song. Filth is another solid one of their signature style.
Niklas Kvarforth from Shining is definitely one of my favorites on the list but I’m biased obviously. His vocals aren’t the only thing intimidating about him. His mind is very out there due to mental illness. He can be super friendly and be kind of a troll in one interview and then be absolutely unsettling and mean in another. His vocals are pretty cool especially his throat singing type thing that he does. GG Allin should be on there as some of these other guys aren’t really intimidating to me personally.
hi Beth, I met your channel this week, your videos are very good! I don't know its history and I don't speak English, but I understand some things (I'm Brazilian). I asked myself "who is this girl who evaluates (reacts) my idols. It was then that I researched and found her version of 7 nation army, just unbelievable, incredible! You should sing a lot more for us, your talent elevates the soul! (sorry if there are errors in the text, I used the google translator, because I need to complain to you) SING!
Favourite metal vocalist obviously Ozzy Osbourne, The GrandFather of Heavy Metal. Not arguing against anyone since but that is the legend against which all others need to be compared against. A career with Black Sabbath starting in the late 60s. Started his 7th decade in music. Still sells albums and sells out shows. Loved by everyone.
Beth. I would really like to see your reaction to Cattle Decapitation. He use growls, screams but also a special voice of his own that is unique. Try the song Death Atlas from the same album.
Niklas Kvarforth of Shining is the scariest to me. The more I read about him and his world view, the scarier he becomes 0_o it's kinda sad too, actually.
Well only from the Vocals I think Clean: Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) Floor Jansen (Nightwish and the Ayreon parts) Amy Lee (Evanescence) David Draiman (Disturbed) On Screaming: CJ McCreery (Only his vocals not his personal live) (ex Lorna Shore) Alex Terrible (Slaughter to Prevail) Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator) CJ McMahon (Thy Art Is Murder)
That's the funniest, realest thing I've heard today. "You're a human, I CAN FIGHT YOU!" Lol always a joy watching your content, if sometimes for unexpected gems
You would ADORE Till Lindemann from Rammstein. PLEASE give him a good listen in other songs. His voice is like a smoothie before a nice nap....if smoothies were bloody and german
Pretty sure Gaahl is like 6'7" and literally chained a guy up and tortured him for being too annoying at a party (to be fair he warned the guy to stop first)
He is not that tall, and never did something wrong to me. But the last time I talked to him I was there with a friend, and Gaahl and his female friend amused themselves just by pointing at my friend. Saying nothing else. Also, keep in mind that Gaahl designs dresses and such...
"Clean in up, he'd be alright" LOL!! The guy at 2:20, Henry Rollins is actually a really cool guy, smart, well read etc. There are some good interviews with him here on YT.
I'm curious, Beth, if you are aware that your choice for for most intimidating, Gaahl of Gorgoroth, provided backing vocals and conceptual creativity for the first 2 albums of Einar Selvik's Wardruna project? Or that Einar played drums for Gorgoroth?
There was a British girl in the 60's, Cilla Black. She had several hits, ... perhaps the biggest was "You're My World". Incredible power in her voice ... I'd love to see you react to her ...
A vocal coach reacting to Slayer is kind of pointless. Tom doesn't really sing. She should react to a song where he does sing, like Spill The Blood or Seasons In The Abyss.
I've met a few of these musicians and I can tell you that a lot of them do seem very intimidating but are actually very nice and very polite. I once met Till from Rammstein kinda by accident and he was really nice but you can tell he is very timid and shy. Nergal from Behemoth was super nice too and complimented my hair lol. I remember once running into Necrobutcher from Mayhem and thinking he was gonna be a jerk based on what I had seen of him, especially in the A Headbanger's Journey documentary but the dude was actually really nice and pretty funny. Maybe cuz he was sober, I dont know. And in retrospect, I remember seeing him in the "documentary" of Bob Larson. Bob tried an "exorcism" on him because of his past and I expected Necro to just be a total jerk to him. But he was surprisingly civil, all things considered. I've definitely met a few who were totally jerks but the majority of metal musicians I've met were really cool.
If you knew the topic of the song Till was singing you'd definitely be intimidated! It's mainly the song topic and the show on stage that gives Rammstein that creepy vibe.

Check Cradle of Filth, Dani Filth's vocals are very interesting and intimidating in a peculiar way
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Incredible lyrics, even from the start of COF when they were just kids.
On album, yes. Live, makes me laugh so hard I cant breathe sometimes.
I love COF but damn that voice dont work well live.
Intimidating until you see him. All 5'5 and 130lbs of him.
Dani Filth intimidating? He's literally the foremost laughing stock in all of extreme metal.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer
Is he well known? Yes. For the right reasons? Well...maybe you should watch the masterpiece "Cradle of Fear", if you haven't already.
Also. Dimmu Borgir garners more respect than COF, let that sink in for a bit.
I want to see her react to Abbath's crab walk in All shall fall
Someone they didn't have on there: Oderus Urngus from GWAR.
Come on, it's a cartoon character. He's (was) hilarious.
Or the vocalist from Lordi. Same type of crazy get up.
Oderous was too tongue-in-cheek to be truly intimidating. You thought he's was gonna try and scare you then he said something intentionally dumbass and you ended up laughing.
I agree with you on that one.
RIP
Phil Anselmo is intimidating, and he'll back that up aswell.
Yeah, Phil can be pretty intimidating with his vocals. I feel like they should have put the screams from cemetery gates in there instead.
You haven't seen anything until you've seen GG Allin. That dude was rock bottom and completely inimitable.
Problem is, he's a one-way express ticket to age-restriction on your video, so people are probably a lot less willing to discuss him.
@@occultnightingale1106 GG Allin is a douchebag
@@kristiecornell5723 what about satan panonski even he was a degenerate
Your channel is great. Thanks for your informed takes on metal!
Gaahl would be the most intimidating for sure. Dude beat a guy, collected his blood, and made him drink it...
Alex Sukacz after he broke into his house.... he also denies any torture as well 🤣
Matt Desrosiers he denies threatening to drink the guys blood or make the guy drink his own blood, not beating the guy up
While that's crazy, I don't understand how he made the list while Varg Vikernes didn't. That guy literally burned churches and murdered the guitarist of a rival band by stabbing him over 20 times and is in general just a massive racist creep.
Gaahl is super cool irl. He noticed i was looking at him and presumed i knew who he was and asked if i wanted i picture. That blew my mind because thats exaclty what i wanted, but i was too nervous to ask lol
Please react to that Rammstein video, it's called Mein Teil and it is both brilliant and incredibly bizarre!
Rammstein is boring af
Marius Duvenage Opinions, opinions...
Rammstein is anything but boring
@@Denashi yes i respect that but i dont understand the hype here in germany. Germany has so many other great bands but Rammstein is 😴
@@marius1841 and that's how everyone can tell you've only listened to Du Hast.
1:33 You should hear the studio version and later live versions of the scream in that song, Angel of Death. Blows that one right out of the water
you really should do the gorgoroth song in this video. the live version: God Seed / Gorgoroth - Prosperity and Beauty (Live @ Wacken Open Air 2008) is the name. its awesome
I saw him at Inferno last year. It was awesome. Absolutely awesome. Then after I met him at the bar in the venue. Such a nice, actually shy, guy.
I didn't like him in Gorgoroth. He was the weakest of the vocalists there - definitely not as good as Pest. But i love him in Gaahls Wyrd. His goals are much stronger in that band.
She has heard Ghaal on her channel, but it was an early Wardruna show.
Yes. Been calling for this for ages! Or at least once or twice before.
Why not the live in Poland version that they show on this video. Way better
Fun fact:
At (4:11) gorgoroth plays. Einar Selvik, who is the front-figure of Wardruna, which you have featured twice before, was the drummer in Gorgoroth.
Kvitrafn (Selvik) is not the frontman of Wardruuna, its a collective of musicians, Kvitrafn is the driving force and creator.
Loudwire:
Most intimidating metal musicians, #10: Behemoth's Orion
Also Loudwire:
*Shows Nergal for half the clip*
I got a better list
1. Gaahl (Gorgoroth)
2. Phil Anselmo (Pantera)
3 Eric Danielson (Watain)
4. Kristof Bathory (Dawn Of Ashes)
5. Helmuth Lehner (Belphegor)
6. Satyr (Satyricon)
7. Jedvard Dracul (Sixth Gear)
8. Megan Orvold (Casket Robbery)
9. Onielar (Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult)
10. Niklas Kvarforth (Shining)
None are intimidating but I listen to this music. Gaahl was perfect.
The lead singer of Behemoth (Adam Darski) the first band in the video, has also a country/blues project called "Me and That Man" where he Is the singer too. You should react to him, he has an incredible voice for that music genre.

I just came here to watch you react. Not disappointed and I loved the green nail polish!
Beth piece of advice: If you meet a dude in an apron and chefs hat covered in blood and NOT working behind a butchers counter - RUN !
I'm a fan of #1 Orion bassist of Behemoth and Ghaal vocalist of Gorgoroth.
I really enjoy your reactions.
I would love to get your take on Rammstein! Till is a showman (and a certified pyrotechnician!), but he is also a singer with an incredible voice.
Honestly, Phil is probably the most intimidating on the list in my opinion. He was pretty scary in late 90s, early 2000s.
You should react to the whole second song on the list. Slayer - Angel of death.
Ghaal is such a great and nice guy in person when you talk to him. The naked girl on the cross at that tour is my girlfriends sister, she shared a room with him during the tour and said he was always just nice and calm.
Favorite metal vocalists:
Rob Halford
Michael Kiske
Bruce Dickinson
Dio
Lemmy Kilimister
King Diamond
Kai Hansen
Ian Gillan
non metal:
Jeff Buckley
James Brown
Max Cavalera
Keep going Beth. Your knowledge of music and willingness to jump into the abyss is great. You also have amazing hair.
I was going to say "none of the above" and go for GG Allin, but yeah. Phil definitely wins that one.
Watch some gg allin (wasn't on the list) or gaahl interviews lol.
In general anything black metal seems to freak people out
GG allin wasn't intimidating he was just an absolute Pyscho
hi Beth, I met your channel this week, your videos are very good!
Vocal Coach Reacts to "The Drug in Me Is Reimagined" by Falling in Reverse! Please!
Mick Thompson would be my #1 ... big dude in an awesome, scary mask
The best one on this list was the guy from Rammstein in my opinion.

Tommy Karevik (Kamelot)
Floor Jansen (Nightwish and the Ayreon parts)
Amy Lee (Evanescence)
David Draiman (Disturbed)
On Screaming:
CJ McCreery (Only his vocals not his personal live) (ex Lorna Shore)
Alex Terrible (Slaughter to Prevail)
Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator)
CJ McMahon (Thy Art Is Murder)

There is a video from Loudwire called "10 Vocalists Who Can Sing You to Sleep AND Scare You to Death". You should react to that one also^^
Pretty sure Gaahl is like 6'7" and literally chained a guy up and tortured him for being too annoying at a party (to be fair he warned the guy to stop first)
He is not that tall, and never did something wrong to me. But the last time I talked to him I was there with a friend, and Gaahl and his female friend amused themselves just by pointing at my friend. Saying nothing else. Also, keep in mind that Gaahl designs dresses and such...
Gaalh is definitely the most terrifying person on this list. Do some reading on him.
You should do a proper Misfits reaction. On of the most iconic bands of all time imo.
Clicked on this expecting to see Till
That guy will do anything and everything
Mushroomhead can be seen as intimidating or scary because of their masks, watch the QWERTY or out of my mind video and you will see 🙂
"Clean in up, he'd be alright" LOL!! The guy at 2:20, Henry Rollins is actually a really cool guy, smart, well read etc. There are some good interviews with him here on YT.
Please react to "The Beatles - Oh Darling!"
I'm curious, Beth, if you are aware that your choice for for most intimidating, Gaahl of Gorgoroth, provided backing vocals and conceptual creativity for the first 2 albums of Einar Selvik's Wardruna project? Or that Einar played drums for Gorgoroth?
Please watch the drug in me is reimagined

There was a British girl in the 60's, Cilla Black. She had several hits, ... perhaps the biggest was "You're My World". Incredible power in her voice ...
I'd love to see you react to her ...

AoD would be great, because we've already seen the reaction to the opening.
What is the name of the Misfits song?
If you knew the topic of the song Till was singing you'd definitely be intimidated! It's mainly the song topic and the show on stage that gives Rammstein that creepy vibe.
Have you listened to Rang, from Coke studio? Sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri...
