Beautiful work, hard to describe with words, a super production. Congratulations Tony V and thank you very much for sharing with us these fantastic images, my like 15. From Curitiba Brazil. 🇧🇷👏🇨🇦
Thanks very much Tony. I appreciate the commentary from you. As always, I have my Google Maps open while watching your videos, and I enjoy taking a bit of time to find the location and to "look around."
I used to live right up the road from there. My house was right by the tracks just around that curve. The sound of the trains actually helped me sleep 😵💫
@@TonyVRailfanning it's not that it's not priority, they might not room at the port for the load so they might just sit on it for a day while the backlog works through the system or they might not have a ship there yet. Tough to say but the government says grain is a priority and they face fines if they don't get it delivered now
great video tony another note of interested as you see in the video the crew checks the fuel levels of the locomotives because there has been occasions where they have run out of fuel and yes even from a 3000-4000 gallon fuel tank
Great video, I love Revy, if you ever get a chance to go there in winter it's awesomely picturesque. I never went to watch the crews change tho, that was cool to see.
Good video to see what happens at crew change. One of them did a quick check of the fuel sight glass on the lead locomotive. Didn't know the exiting crew stood by to watch for any issues on the train as it continues.
Yes, the new crew gets all the information prior to even arriving at the station. One of the reasons CP crew changes are so much quicker than CN. Some CN crew changes are 30 or more min
Well done ! Excellent video. Looking at some very old photos of Revelstoke Railway Station which was a fine building. I believe it was pulled down in 1978. I'm guessing it was located in the yard , am I right do you think ?
The new crew will be heading east to Golden BC and then south to the next crew change at Fort Steele, BC. The other crew options are east on the main line to Field, BC or west to Kamloops BC. This coal train is headed to the Elk Valley area. There are several coal mines around Elkford and Sparwood, BC. Revy is a great town, year round. Amazing skiing/boarding in the area.
I did a double take when I saw that sign planted right between the rails at the beginning. I had to look twice before I realized it wasn't an active track.
Thanks for the recommendation Tony. Very informative. I was going to ask if the third set of rails, closest to Victoria Rd, were still in use. Question answered. And I've often seen the pump trucks at the stream, so the question to be asked about them has been answered too! Another great vid. Regards. Ian. UK.
Hi i live in Peterborough England I've known people who think it's easy to drive massive diasel locomotives like one said you just sit there and it goes i thought you try stopping it in the right place but there is stacks more besides that you could write a book on this I've even known one to say why don't locomotives have gears it just goes to prove some just have not got a clue
Thank you for commenting, yes there are many things that the 2 crew have to do on a trip. With trains weighing 20,000ton or more and being over 3000meters long it is a very difficult thing to control. The grades trains climb as they move through the mountains also involves so much concentration as the stresses on the knuckles cant are a train apart if the crew is not always on alert.
@@TonyVRailfanning thanks Tony for replying do you live near revelstoke the snow looks like a Christmas card i love it when i see the bears I'm 68 now and been lover of railways since i was knee high keep in touch tony
Awesome Tony well done. Brings back memories of the times I spent in Revelstoke.

I love visiting the area around Revelstoke. I go once a year at least. Thanks for watching
Cool video Tony. Neat to see the loaded grain tied down in the yard as it awaits a crew to take her to Kamloops.
Yes, it sat in the yard till the next day. I guess they dont consider it a high priority?

Nice Tony, our favourite crossing finally from the other direction, where you can really see how broken that third track is!
Yup, it’s a mess for sure
Great video Tony.it gives a totally new perspective to revelstoke.never realized just how much room there is here.love the info.🌲
John Frankenfield yes, it a beautiful town, I would live here is it was not so expensive. The average home sells for $500,000US

krazzy canuck I noticed that, hard to believe. These locomotives must drink the fuel like crazy?
many years using that switching lead working the yard.
I didn't recognize it at first in seeing the Ramada. Thanks for capturing the scene.
Your welcome Chris, hope all is well

Yes, I would imagine that. I dont particularly like driving the highway passes in the winter but certainly worth it
Very cool Tony.

Hi Mike, yes, that track has been decommissioned for about 20 years now.
Where is this place?
It’s in Revelstoke British Columbia Canada
