Solo Mission is a blessing. Valve really should just add Decay to HL1 on the menu with steam networking making it super easy to setup. Mr. Floyd is a legend
Decay remains the only commercial Half Life game I've not compleate. (Yes I even finished even Hunt Down The Freeman). Hopefully with this mod I can finally play the last title in the series without a bunch of technical problems.
I thought this is breaking news. Turns out it's just old news. I had fun testing this and softlocking the game by getting trapped in the sample cart elevator lol... but way back when HL25 was hot off the press.
> 0:50 Implying that the game is only playable with a friend. Nerd emoji here. Like the PS2 version, you could actually play this solo by pressing G to switch between characters. Not a recommended experience though.
Regarding the PS2 version, you CAN connect a USB mouse and keyboard if you really desire to play with PC controls. That said, Phat PS2 only has two ports, so your buddy will have to suck it up and use a controller, unless the PS2 can be used with USB hubs.
For a moment, I thought Solo Mission was released, but also I didn't know about this one. I remember I had to play with a friend back in 2014 setting up a server, haha.
That single player Decay remake is good, but it has a major flaw: the dev disses Colette Green. 😡 In general, it is frustrating that Valve keeps ignoring Decay. I know it doesn't like the expansions because of things like Race X and whatnot, but as far as the fans are concerned, the expansions are all canon. Yet, Decay always gets the short end of the stick even among fans, mainly because it's a co-op title, and because Valve is happy to sweep it under the rug. 😒 As to this video, clickbait title is clickbait. 😑
You know...in recent years...Hell, since 2009 at least, actually...there's been a slow, but, surprisingly (in a very pleasant way) steady push for what I essentially consider LOOOONG-dead game expansion. When they take a classic game from way back in the day that everybody loved and, well, expand upon it. The whole idea of "games as a service" was more of a "fuck you, give us money" type deal even if we did get some good content out of it, but dead-game expansion on the other hand, is essentially like a surprise gift from your childhood. There was Doom 3: The Lost Mission. Postal 2 got some expansions. So did Duke Nukem. Since then, Quake 1 and 2. Doom 64 re-released with a brand new bonus level to promote Doom: Eternal. And now there's talk about an expansion for Doom 2. These are NOT sequels. They are NOT spinoffs. And they are NOT brand-new games built from the ground up or with modern graphics engines. They're expansions for old games made using the tools that were available at the time. I know we're all hyped about the rumblings we've been hearing about Half-Life 3 because they come from legitimate and reputable sources and Half-Life Alyx was an actual real thing that we might still all be having to pinch ourselves to remind ourselves that yes it really was real, but...as excited as I am to play it, I think Valve REALLY ought to consider making an old-school GoldSrc Half-Life game. Imagine if they were to resurrect "Hostile Takeover" and actually put it out there. I mean, I very sincerely doubt it would EVER happen, but, a man can dream, you know?
I’m happy to hear this news. They finally port Half life Decay on pC. I think you can play Decay with yourself already but you need play the character one by one.
I have a singleplayr version of Decay where I use community-made source codes and adds Decay elements, that way I can have a Gina+Colette npc who can actually fight, adds opfor weapons and monster with new ones, AND a correct hud color from the original PS2 whether I play as Colette or Gina. Now of course, all Decay codes I add are just copy from somewhere else, and have to switch "client" file for the hud colors, but it work! I'm using that version of Decay for a HL gameplay series of mine on youtube.
Man I remember how much of a pain it was to play through this solo switching between the two. I wonder if it is more fun on coop. Cute fox model btw. Tail needs giggle physics
I liked the video then I saw the furry art then I regretted giving you the like I removed the like I didn't gave you a dislike because I like half life

Fully agree!

Finish black mesa too
@@zombine7103 I did. It's a fantastic game.
Neither did i, nor i care. It's not even canon and the main line games are the only ones i care about.
Me neither, I'm hoping to play it soon
Played Decay last year! It's really good!
This game NEEDS the black mesa treatment
There is going to be! Called Peer Review

yea. Modder even added easter egg to activate secret level if you don't have friend to complete it on A alone

I remember back in the day I emulated HL Decay on the PCSX2 and played with my friend with 2 controllers, it was pretty enjoyable and sometimes funny
They should add these mods to Steam
Thanks again for the shout-out! ^^
You are welcome, a full video on your project is coming too!
You should add controller support. The mod doesn't seem to work right with Xbox 360 controllers. It can't detect the left stick.
WE NEED A GAME ABOUT OTIS, GUS, EINSTEIN, R-4913 AND X-8973
Colette Green is my favorite psychopath

i played trough a decay mod solo, alternating controll between both characters !
it would be cool if they made the hud yknow visible on modern displays but this is really cool nonetheless
Damn I miss this game my family had it on PS2 and I had to bug the hell out of my brothers to play it with me, it nice to see it updated for PC

yay the king is back :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Why was setting up a dedicated server a problem in the first place? You can just run the server locally on the same machine as the client..
Did you just changed the thumbnail? I'm pretty sure that was some furry persona as colette green before
The video has multiple thumbnails. New RUclips feature :)
Could someone tell me why the mod doesn't show me the HD textures???
0:14 - i knew there was always something wrong about g-mans brrr. If you know you know.
The fox thing is so gross
He made it his whole personality.
WoW, it's 25th anniversary already, half-life decay.
(But you missing something too about mod and Play as vortigaunt?
How i can resize my hud like you did

I like the fox model it's cute. Just like Fennec foxes.
No
Is the story and levels the same between the ModDB one and the Steam one?
Black Mesa Decay when?
nice
Does it include the Vortigaunt levels?
eeyup, it does!
Nice!
dude ps2 supports mouse & keyboard and so does the game.
Actually. You can play only decay. Because the ps2 content is still locked on ps2 sadly.

Me a minutes after studied a lot about furry:
2:35 You made it yourself or someone else did?
Is there a new update like as of today then? Bc I last tried earlier this month and it doesn't work with Xbox 360 controller. Did they fix that yet?
It's not an update if it's still the 2023 release. Misleading.
how do i join my friends game?
You a Furry or something? what is the pic in the beginning of the video related to the game for?
@@raffmusicgaming3687 eeyup, that fox is kinda the channel mascot.
