On a chinese platform called taobao theres so many different manufacturers using the exact same head but just branding it in a different way (same for irons). My friend had a set of "fake" mizunos that looked exactly like that. As a 12 handicapper I personally think that these clubs actually arent as bad as we think, it is no where near the performance feel or consistency of something like a stealth or a aerojet but to someone who may be a 30 handicapper or to someone who doesnt consistently hit the ball out the centre they may notice much of a difference between a stealth and a "cheap driver on taobao or temu".
I have purchased several golf related items on Temu. A swing-out divot fixer that is excellent quality. A couple of super stroke putter grips after I saw another video that spoke to their quality and I concur. As far as other grips, I have found that Amazon has better off-brand grips. And I bought some shaft extensions that are worth the cost. That being said, I love these evaluation videos.
James, I'm going to dub you "The Pensioners Friend". I love watching your videos like this. I love golf but sure as heck can't afford $600 to $800 Canadian on the latest greatest big name driver out there. And personally, and please no offence to this, but when I see you or any other "youtube" creator unwrapping the latest greatest driver for a review, I'm outta there. Now don't get me wrong. Many viewers want to see that and I perfectly understand your reasoning for doing it. But for me I love these types of videos. Thank you very much for keeping us pensioners in the game. Thank you
If you’re broke get your money up, get a side hustle. start a business. Don’t complain and get mad when people are doing better than you and are trying out the newest driver.
When I started getting into golf as a kid in the 90s, knock offs were popular and even sold at golf shops. My parents bought me knock offs to save money. The club heads were good. The issue was the shafts were lower quality and I would break them often. After a year of using knock offs I had every shaft broken and replaced with DG S300 shafts. I've never had a True Temper shaft break.
I learned on a bootleg set of Tommy Armours my neighbor gave to me but when I started college. Was just standing in my parents driveway talking to him and casually mentioned some of my friends are getting into golf and I might join them. He immediately perked up and said take these off my hands! Had them for 2 years, they look horrible, but they certainly did the trick. I still think about that neighbor fondly once in a while, who knows how many weeks months or even years I would have delayed getting into golf if not for him just giving me those clubs.
I bought a driver on eBay in 2009 Orka SD kII for $44 delivered It’s a square headed driver Still use it today It’s so good I even tested it against a 2022 callaway driver for distance and spin etc The numbers nearly identical
Here's a heads up, when buying from Temu. You need to read the description completely. Don't go by the pictures. Quite often, they'll show things that aren't included, or have things be different sizes than pictured, or the item you buy is a DIY. But if you just go by the picture, you'll be fooled. I ordered a bird bath that I didn't look at the size, I just went by the picture. Needless to say, the bird bath was 6 inches tall. Read the fine print.
This course you play could do with colour coded pin flag placements. Example, Red for back, Yellow for centre, Blue for front of the greens.....or whatever colours you prefer.
Got a brand new Callaway mavrik in the middle of last season. It's 9 degrees, hzrdus shaft, adjustable neck, stiff flex, for $219.99. Best thing I ever did
My feeling is that these lower priced Drivers just would frustrate the hell out of you as you cannot get the distances that you want. I.e can whack the ball as hard as you can but barely get it over 250 yards.
Hilarious, a few years ago I worked for a liquor distribution company. During our company tournament I won a driver. A Callaway Epic Flash with a shaft that ONLY said Jameson. No manufacturer, no flex. I couldn’t do anything with it. I Installed a top brand shaft and it’s been a great driver.
Can you test against a $30 used driver? I have an R7 and it doesn’t go as far as my Stealth (obviously) but an apples to apples comparison would be fun
I normally defend budget clubs. I think people are often willing to spend hundreds of dollars/pounds to get what usually amounts to 5-6 yards. But in this case 50 effing yards difference? That’s worth every penny. I wouldn’t even recommend this for beginner golfers.
Just goes to show how expensive the main brand clubs are.. high to medium handicappers will not benefit from top line clubs, especially if you're on a budget.
I recently bought 3 sets of older clubs for $5 at a thrift store. I always wanted to reshaft clubs and figured they'd be a good test bed. Reshafted one set and they're working great!
The problem with thinking you were getting a set may be your reading ability. The screenshot of the page that you show clearly says in the headline/description "1pc Right Hand Single Golf Club For Men..." And if you clicked add to cart without selecting which club it prompts you to select which club you want. I bought a different one, almost twice the price. It said mens, the shaft is floppier than a Senior flex and the grip is xsmall. A Junior club not Mens. I couldn't get it to release through the ball. To Temu's credit they took it back and they paid the postage.
I bought an old R510 TP with the Fujikura Speeder 757 shaft in it a couple weeks ago just to screw with my buddy. My gamer is a a new fitted Ai Smoke Max with Ventus TR shaft. The 510 was really only around 15 yards behind my Smoke. For the money the 510 would be hard to beat imo.
I don’t get how you can think everyone in the world would understand that? I always think about people like my dad or grandad who would be buying in good faith
If your going to consider buying this piece of crap because of budget maybe skip a few rounds and put that money together for a good used driver , you get what you pay for like anything else in life and I just see this thing breaking in no time .
KVV sounds like some kind of a health insurance provider at least here in Germany!! But for the price if you are on a budget the club is not that bad!!🏌♂⛳ Maybe try to add some lead tape to the Temu driver?

You should do one of these videos with putter, since the price of putter are outrageous for what you get.

Or just the Communist Chinese best friend.

I couldn't agree with you more. Well said

Good to see you entertaining us with products from Temu
I bought a driver on eBay in 2009
Orka SD kII for $44 delivered
It’s a square headed driver
Still use it today
It’s so good
I even tested it against a 2022 callaway driver for distance and spin etc
The numbers nearly identical
An insane video would be that Temu driver head with an expensive shaft in it and then your gamer driver with the temu shaft in it.
James!! We want this!!! Let's see it!

Changed my mind about cash for clubs just ordered a set of takomo combo 301. Will head into Edinburgh for a putter instead
This course you play could do with colour coded pin flag placements. Example, Red for back, Yellow for centre, Blue for front of the greens.....or whatever colours you prefer.
I love when you look for the budget stuff
Got a brand new Callaway mavrik in the middle of last season. It's 9 degrees, hzrdus shaft, adjustable neck, stiff flex, for $219.99. Best thing I ever did
50 bucks more and you could have got a Rogue ST and got twice the club in performance and quality. 🤷
@@gdeezy I tried it. Didn't see any difference in performance at all. Felt like the same club with a higher price tag
The issues with being a left handed golfer, but it also saves me a lot of money.
you get what you pay for. may be buying a second hand clubs is a better choice than these no brand clubs
I can hit 300 yards consistently with a $50 ram driver. Brand has nothing to do with skill.
You have tested a great many different clubs, have you ever tried Sub70 golf clubs.
KVV should stick to making golf trollies which are half decent and sold on Amazon.
How would it compare to the Slazenger Driver you can get for£25 form Sports Direct?
My feeling is that these lower priced Drivers just would frustrate the hell out of you as you cannot get the distances that you want. I.e can whack the ball as hard as you can but barely get it over 250 yards.

I think your reference to the excellent value on the second hand market is very relevant. Why take a chance on a completely random item from China?
I got a mizuno mp001 driver for 30 bucks. Pretty decent and it sounds great.
Can you test against a $30 used driver? I have an R7 and it doesn’t go as far as my Stealth (obviously) but an apples to apples comparison would be fun
Yep I think I would go down the golf clubs for cash line.
Are you doing a full review of the Mizuno ST Max Driver, looks quality

Well if the driver isn't even the longest club in your bag lol, get that G10 instead, cool video
Just goes to show how expensive the main brand clubs are.. high to medium handicappers will not benefit from top line clubs, especially if you're on a budget.
Temu has crap. I did buy golf Pride grips from there. The black is starting to cloud on the grips.
"Why are head covers so difficult to get off" ? So you don't lose them when they fall off your driver James....
You tried any of the putters from Temu?
I’d rather pay 690$cdn for my fitted Ping G430 SFT and play with confidence and enjoy my game without worrying about how good is my swing for 4 hours…
I'd wager that all of those balls are number 2 :)
I like the charity shops or estate sales for cheaper clubs
I recently bought 3 sets of older clubs for $5 at a thrift store. I always wanted to reshaft clubs and figured they'd be a good test bed. Reshafted one set and they're working great!
Irons and the L.A.B Knockoff putter next please!!
Also gotta try the knockoff ping driver
Are European greens typically that hairy and slow?
In February when there’s been snow on the ground yeah lol

If it looks like a scam it probably is!
Green staff have priority James! 😂😂😂
Actually maybe not.......not on all courses mine actually players have right of way
I feel like you should have filmed this with a temu camera as well
Lol
I bought out of curiosity an autoflex shaft on the lazada app for 30 pounds and I gained 20 yards 🤣🤣🤣
Ha ha ha ha ha ba ba ha ha ha ha ha "its shit" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 gaz probably does hes bloody weekly food shop on temu
Temu is much better quality than Wish.
Don't think it'll catch on!
ROB 🎉 LOOK 🎉 AT 🎉 THIS 🎉

I stopped reading at Temu....
Why?
Well here in America, Temu is known as Chinese knockoff garbage. There’s not a chance I’ll ever visit their site, let alone buy anything.
Pathetic, you're going through TEMU......Hopefully you will lose more than just me as a viewer
....CHINA!!!??? 🖕
Probably not even conforming.
Shouldn't be giving Temu or Wish or any of those sites any money even if it's for content
TEMU = SCAM
you can't say Temu and "I got conned" lolol
Well you didn't get conned because it clearly says 1piece on the ad
Which piece? 😂😂😂 it also clearly says full set
Use a temu putter
I didn't think you got ripped off from Temu. Its understood that its cheap stuff!🤷
I don’t get how you can think everyone in the world would understand that? I always think about people like my dad or grandad who would be buying in good faith
Well done James 👏 😊
Not very impressed with that driver ..great video though!
If your going to consider buying this piece of crap because of budget maybe skip a few rounds and put that money together for a good used driver , you get what you pay for like anything else in life and I just see this thing breaking in no time .
I’d go with the Launcher meself
Wish people would stop promoting this utter garbage
Watch a video or two on just how bad Temu actually is instead
I would say this video is far from a “promotion” 😂⛳️👍🏼
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣fml thats a horrendous thing aha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha good lord james stop it ..well indont think TM will be suing them 🤣🤣🤣
It’s TEM-OOOOO
If you support China buy Temu
Quite a lot of things come through China buddy 👍🏼
POS SUPPORTING TEMU
You'd have to live in a cave completely off-the-grid to not buy something Chinese at this point mate.
KVV sounds like some kind of a health insurance provider at least here in Germany!! But for the price if you are on a budget the club is not that bad!!🏌♂⛳ Maybe try to add some lead tape to the Temu driver?
