Maybe with the engine being historied, try to get a compression tester. Do a full restore and do a what it takes to make the s2 a reliable car! I have one and I can help you navigate it. Starting with an obd2 reader to monitor coolant temp, use an oil that burns clean and higher weight than OEM since it’s too thin. I use idemitsu rotary oil 10-w30 some go for 20w50.
@ not for the series 2. I actually have a sohn adapter in my series 1 shell but can’t make it work in s2. I could potentially just add more duty cycle in my versatune but I only did fan mod through it to kick in from 180-204F. Oem fan program starts at 190s to 230F!

Go track it
