- Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a tactical adventure game combining the turn-based combat of XCOM with story, exploration, stealth, and strategy. Take control of a team of Mutants navigating a post-human Earth. Created by a team including former HITMAN leads and the designer of PAYDAY. Coming to PS4 in 2018.
For anyone wondering, this game is based on the Swedish pen-and-paper RPG of the same name, and is set in a postnuclear apocalypse Scandinavia. The music playing on the radio in the trailer is actually a (old and cheesy) Swedish radio-hit. The city seen in the trailer is possibly either Gothenburg (second largest city in sweden) or Stockholm (Swedish capitol), both of which feature large amusement parks.

Play these games: Yakuza 0, Persona 5, Nier Automata, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, Nex Machina, Resident Evil 7, Chroma Squad, Bayonetta series, Blue Estate, almost all VR games, Reigns (and anything from devolver digital), Rock of Ages 1 and 2, etc etc.
Also nothing wrong with games being serious, the banner saga is a great series, shadowrun returns/dragonfall/hong kong are top tier, etc etc.
AAA is just overall pretty bad lately outside of japan and polan.

I mean shadowrun returns, shadowrun dragonfall, and shadowrun hong kong had similar combat to xcom but was a true tabletop styled rpg as well (and was just overall just a better game series)

I'm trying to control myself, but this game looks so unique and original - it's easy to fall for hype.
And the fact that it's being created by former developers of Hitman (Actually, the song in the outro reminded me of the 2016 HITMAN theme) and PAYDAY makes it even better.
Definetely looking forward to playing this.

I think that they were human once, like the duck guy wanted to eat the ham, ducks don’t eat ham. Explaining why they are so expressive and relatable.

This is based on a swedish tabletop Roleplaying-game called "Mutant År Noll" or Mutant Zero Year. A really cool setting and game system, I hope it will be a good videogame.

You’ll not only see familiar XCOM- like combat, but the game also lets you decide when and where to engage thanks to a stealth system. Dux is a talking duck who wields a crossbow. The boar is named Bormin. Most notably, The Bearded Ladies, a new outfit made up of former Hitman and Payday developers.

Hey, I played pen-and-paper "Mutant: Year Zero" (yes seriously) just last week, and it awesome! Traditional RPG with good friends and maybe some beer and pizza is about as much fun you can have without getting naked.

At your local nerd related store, you know the kind of store that sells rare sci-fi books and "magic the gathering" and DnD stuff. If you live in a rural area, you might be a bit starved on such fine culture and refinement, in which case your gonna have to order it online.

This, Biomutant and Recore are really hitting that weird mascot itch that Jak/Daxter, Ratchet/Clank and Beyond Good/Evil had. Even reminds me of Enslaved by Ninja Theory.
