Yes, I try my best to practice waving or smiling at people. Some people feel unseen or unheard, and acknowledging their presence makes a huge difference!!!😊
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I also came across a video speaking on something called a “third space”. I think people need a lot more of that. A lot of people just go to work and come home which I think is quite sad. We all need a place to meet up or share something with. You know like in tv shows the characters have a place they frequent just to hang out with their friends, I think that should be normalized more often. People struggle to connect with each other because it doesn’t seem like there’s very many places that people can actually go to for the sole purpose of connecting. I’m not talking about the club or special events either just casual events. I guess starting up a hobby that requires others would definitely be a great start.
This video is so timely, as I've been thinking A LOT about the importance of (face to face) community. I think there are many factors to the loneliness epidemic, and I think that social media plays a big part (if we let it). It can give a false sense of community and connection, and meet the need for connection in a very "breadcrumb" way-- drops in a bucket as opposed to an overflowing bucket that you get through true connection to self and others. And because it (social media) is barely meeting that connection need, people don't have to put themselves out there to meet and connect with others in a real & meaningful way--like you said, people are afraid to be vulnerable. They can stay safe and have malnourished connection through a screen. Anyway, great video and I LOVE your lip and nail color!!! 💕
Vicki thank you so much! I totally agree with your sentiments. This topic has been on my mind for months and I finally had the courage to speak on it. Glad it resonated with you!
I'm so sick of self love. That shyt done got boring. It does make you lonely and I'm depressed. I want some company. Sick of hermit, self love. Y'all can have it back. I want someone who wants to be around me. I love going out to eat and just doing simple stuff. Self love starts to alienate you. Most people don't say hi. As far as that cell phone, I'm learning to not look at it so much while out and about, especially when I'm around someone. They deserve full attention.
Thank you for taking the time to create this channel. You speak with such clarity and precision about these real topics, you’re like an internet older sister for me ❤
Girl I totally get you. Society is normalizing self absorption, that is why we find that people have become so cold hearted. People don't give a darn about hurting other people's feeling. Their just out for their self seeking interests. I really love your content by the way
Thank you!!!! It’s very sad and yep, hearts are getting colder and colder and people are very passive aggressive about it. I’m here for the people who still have light left in them.
I couldn’t agree more with this video!! God tells us to love thy neighbour AS thyself. Both need to happen. Self care is great but we should not do it to a point where that becomes an idol in our life. It’s all about balance 😊
The wall stopping me is that when i interact with people in person it always ends up going south, but I definitely here what you are saying and I agree with you.
@@EvieAswiti I'm going to start doing that, I would try to often take public transportation and go on long walks, but I became overwhelmed and I fell back I'm going to start doing that again

It can be hard to do that especially when they go out of their way to not say anything.
@@EvieAswiti you are so right! If i see thats a pattern , i will leave them alone

you just gotta keep interacting with people organically. It’s good exposure therapy
