I wasn’t too hyped about ISS Vanguard but after reading that introductory book it certainly peaked my interest.

They messed up the game board. In the Kickstarter and on Gamefound, they show a horizontal board. And then in Update 30 on the Kickstater they show a vertical board, but it has the play area at the bottom where it should be. But when they went to production, someone screwed up and put the play area on the top. So a lot of people are cutting their boards up because it's done completely wrong.
Can you get me a link for how they're cutting it right now? I'm sad that this was totally foreseeable and avoidable. We'll see how it plays.

I think this cutjob, where it's simply cutting in half, is the option I'll do. (I'm single wave, Wave 2 :( )

They wanted to remedy a number of issues and critics that TG got with their design of Etherfields. one of those was that TG pretty much only works for 1 to 2 players and they def wanted etherfields to be more accessible for 3+ players (why they also had their 5 player expansion). thats why they moved the playing area to the top so that no player of a group of 4 has to read the texts on the dreamscape tiles upside down. they also added the clock to have a bit more leverage to balance different player counts. Thats why they initially didnt have a script book either cos all narrative was supposed to be presented by cards only (having to read too much text was a major contributor to the downtimes that the TG design created).

The weird defects on the inside of the box reminds me of a ps5 unboxing I watched. Where the individual found a nail stuck to the console. Just normal Covid stuff I guess ;)

A good chunk of people who only play solo has cut the board to be more fitting for solo play. So keep that in mind, if you plan on only playing solo.
