    Thanks for a great balanced update and I agree with pretty much everything you brought forward here. I think they moved away from stickers and are going with inserts (similar to arydia). I am glad I decided to do a late pledge with this game and will definitely be getting the Forteller update as I listened to some samples as well as some behind the scenes they did with the Forteller team and I think it will add even more immersion.

    Funnily your update is already out of date. There are unboxing videos of the final prototype and there will be new playthrough videos of the game play within a week or two. It seems that you have missed some major fundamentals of the game system. The bag building is not much different different from deck building. After a while, while seemingly completely random, you can skew the results significantly towards your preferred choices. Both sword and shield ability cards, activated by the chips, tend do a lot more than just simple attack or defense or giving more action cubes. Among other things you missed is a simple mechanic that you can use two swords as a shield or two shields as a sword. That gives players tremendous amount of flexibility if the draw is not exactly what they wished. You also judged how soaking stones work based on one starting stone of one character. They usually don't just add damage. By barely skimming the updates, I think you are doing this game a disservice.

      Fair enough, some of things you've mentioned I've covered previously in my other updated update (lol) videos for Isofarian Guard. I don't mind being wrong though. Primarily, this video was meant to comment on a number of updates that were requested specifically by another subscriber rather than be a 100% comprehensive overview. Thanks for watching :)))

    Great update! The thing that pulled me in was forteller and I found the story to be very compelling. Not sketchy for the sake of drawing an adult audience. I find the writing in some other games just boring, overindulgent rubbish. Not so with Isofarian Guard. Even in the early development of this game, the story and forteller were the tipping point for me and got me to pledge. But now, can’t wait with how it’s developed and all the content 😀. Thanks for the update.

    Looking at the updated gameplay video, I really wish The Witcher board game was somethnig like this, not the simple deck builder with redundant minis...

    I really enjoy your update breakdowns. They are really in depth, with comparisons and explanations. I'm not invested in Isofarian Guard but I really enjoy your break downs I still listened to the entire thing.
    How do you like tracking things such as health? I am a fan of dials and curious if you have found something better? I detest tracking health using tokens but don't mind using dice, although I find think a little more clunky but do feel nice.

      As for health tracking, this may not directly answer your question, but I enjoy games where damage to health directly affects a player's capacity to act. However, for normal hp tracking, I really enjoyed Machina Arcana's super snug player boards with their custom wooden tokens (2nd edition).

    As a miniature painter, I stayed away, obviously for a reason this game costs as much as any game with 100 plastic minis, so it seemed it was too expensive for what it is. But it's actually shaping up as a really interesting game and even with higher shipping cost than previously expected, I'm actually considering late backing..

    Very good summary. I just paid for shipping $50 no mat no audio crap.
    Agree that dials suck. You missed the synergy bonus. It's an important enrichment where your heroes are in a kind of rhythm.
    TIG is a marriage between Skyrim and your favorite grind video game, but with bad writing and childish maps. These guys should really watch some youtube videos on good writing.
    I posted a lot of suggestions to the maps which were completely ignored, so they still make no sense.
    In spite of all that it's a world I'd love to jump in to and lose myself in.
    I'm also very happy the game got delayed so much that they added a lot of QoL improvements to the game.

      Everything has been optimized that that alone is worth owning a box.

    There are some points you missed.
    There are no stickers. The camp is a dual layered board now where you can put inside the houses.
    All characters have a special ability. Every of the characters are played different. The mechanic changers with every character. Alec can brew potions when he flip cards. Grigory can enhance his attacks when he flips the cards.
    There are many changes. And some you do not recognized. For example that they expanded all of the game. The length of the game is even bigger than before and other stuff.
    But good to see that you make a new video and say 'I was wrong' 😀

      This is actually the second time people have requested an updated opinion on the isofarian guard. It keeps evolving!
      Personally, I find the pace a little slower and more puzzly than what I prefer, but also I'm on a KS cleanse right now 😉
