There HAS to be more to it. We will probably never know the real reason Abby & Christi hated each other. There was hatred there from the very first episode.

Honestly I think Melissa was olso toxic to Maddie in a way when she allowed Abby do whatever she wants, manipulated her daughter and isolated her form her friends. I think Maddie is a pretty smart girl she realized all of these things, and improved herself to be a better person. Honestly I don't know what I would have done if I was in her place. Abby was abusive. Kids deserve to be respected, they're human beings, treat them like monsters and they will either break, or become the monsters you demonize them to be.
Funny enough chloe seems to be the most balanced of all the girls. She's in college, and shes never in any drama. She clearly raised well. And I feel like abby is sucking up to jojo because of her fame.

@@LynTheWitch yeah. my understanding of this show is just what I've heard, some compilations, and now binging this series up to this episode and I have no doubt that means "i hate that her parents raise her to be her own person and not take my crap". It's the lack of power she has over Christi and in turn Chloe. I rarely armchair psychology people, especially having never watched a full episode, but I have no doubt Abby is a narcissist.
My theory is Abby was jealous of Chloe because Chloe had a great family and Abby didn't. Think about that for a second, I've heard her say things about her mother like her mother was sweet to everybody but Abby? That's what I'm thinking. She didn't like Chloe because she was jealous. Isn’t ironic everything Abby looked for in a good student (nice, polite, wholesome, sweet, and good technique) describe Chloe to a T yet Chloe was the kid Abby hated the most it’s honestly horrifying how Chloe was treated when you think back at everything. The fact that Abby clearly mistreated Jojo, and she claims to "not remember it," but Jojo and the Siwa Family still welcomed her into their home is honestly astonishing. Like, that right there is the definition of forgiving but not forgetting. Jojo definitely remembers all the horrible stuff that was said to her, remembers how she was mistreated, yet she still talks good about Abby and still welcomes her into her home. Like, the amount of kindness and generosity that would take, to let someone who emotionally abused you and stole from you, into your home and to keep in contact with them as a friend, is outstanding and props to Jojo for having such a big heart.
I don’t think there’s anything particularly healthy about that. None of these girls should be pressured to forgive or make up with Abby to show that they have big hearts. They were small children and were treated horribly by an important adult in their lives. Not only that, but it was done partly for the entertainment of the world. To this day Abby hasn’t expressed any kind of real remorse for the way she abused her position of power and humiliated those little girls. She doesn’t even have anything nice to say about them.

Chloe, today, is a fine, classy young lady. She certainly didn't turn out the way she is by being raised poorly. The same goes for Nia. Perhaps, being on the show, did make them stronger but it's wrong of Abby to discredit their Mothers and their parenting skills. Their Mothers, like ANY Mother would be ALWAYS on their daughters side...right or wrong. Mothers do that, NATURALLY, defending their child and their child is the best and their child is this way or that. It's natural. But I still say that each of these dancers were given a gift and deserve whatever they have today!! They got where they are with HARD WORK, discipline, perseverance and a lot of SACRIFICE. While other kids are out at malls and hanging out with friends, THEY were in the dance studio becoming the fine young ladies they are today!!🤘
I don't completely agree with you, it's sad that most of them don't like Abby even though she made them into who they are today, she was forced to yell at them, and deeply inside she liked them, took them shopping, bought them gifts, bought them ice cream, what a shame especially Maddie doesn't talk to Abby anymore, I understand the stress Maddie went through as a child, but Abby never deliberately wanted Maddie to stress, and she did like her inside. I'm broken hearted also for Abby about their fallout and I'm very sad for Abby and I'm sure her heart was broken and I'm sure, Still is. Everything has its end one way or another and this end had me literally in tears. Like family, ALL OF THEM, with Abby and each other, moving on is sometimes very hard for some. The way some of them moved on, others will not understand, only they have their reasons and its their personal reasons. Perhaps that part remains, personal and private reasons, and for no one else. They shared pretty much their entire life with the world, and I'm sure as a child was very difficult. So that part has to remain theirs. But, I in no way at all, ever denied the love and respect Abby and each of her dancers had and still have, for Abby and each other. I'm absolutely sure they ALL appreciate what Abby and the show did for them! But it's ALL COMBINED with, their extremely hard work, sacrifice and passion they each have for dance!! Yeah, I was waiting for Nia. She was an OG member. Adding her in wouldn't have been much trouble. The interesting thing is that Nia was the only one who never said anything bad about Abby and always appreciated her whenever she talked about the show among the other cast members for the longest... That is, until about a year ago I noticed a change in Nia. She seemed bitter or something. It kind of disappointed me because I always regarded this as a different quality in her compared to the rest. It's understandable, though. In general, I noticed that Nia changed from how she used to be. I don't really follow her anymore...

The fact that even Maddie doesn’t talk to or about her anymore should speak VOLUMES!!!!! She was the favorite, so imagine what it was like for the other girls.
All of them suffered so much, even Maddie. She just suffered in a different way. She was forced to see her friends get broken down in front of her and couldn’t do anything about it. She was manipulated and told that nobody would be happy for her and that everyone was jealous of her. She had high expectation put on her like ‘always win,’ ‘nobody will love you if you lose.’ No wonder she went into a panic when she lost, she was tricked by Abby into thinking that people would only love her if she won. And the other girls were ignored and weren’t seen for their true potential.

Maddie had it just as hard as the other girls. I know what it’s like to be the golden child of an emotionally abusive person. In an instant, you could be treated just as badly as the other kids.

Honestly I’m still confused as to why Chloé was so hated. People say it’s because of her mom, which it probably is, but Abby has called out Melissa on the show several times and it never stopped her from loving Maddie, and Brooke was supposedly her favorite before despite her “long painful history” with Kelly. Chloe also had the best technique on the show in the first few seasons she was on, so calling her “not a hard worker” doesn’t make much sense to me. Seems to me like all the Lukasiaks wanted was for Chloé to have a life outside of dance (in the earlier seasons, before dance and entertainment became Chloé’s primary career choice) Edit: No shade to the Ziegler-Gisonis, for the record. I’m a fan of Maddie and Kenzie and they honestly seem very sweet and humble considering how highly praised they were for so long. I just mean that on the show, they definitely would praise Abby the same way Abby praised them, as stated on the video. 💕

I think it’s also notable that when Abby was describing how chloé was a “model student” she said that she “signed all the contracts”... like ma’am that doesn’t make her a model student, that makes her obedient to you and your company’s legal documents...so I guess it all stemmed from Abby wanting control and Christi not giving it to her? Yeah I'll never completely understand the issue she had with Chloe. So many mothers have disrespected and fought with Abby but it's never made her treat their kids as poorly as she treated Chloe.

A lot of people say that Maddie didn't suffer in Alcd at all comparing to other girls but she did, just in a different way. Abby was always telling her that her friends don't care about her and she can't let them beat her. The amount of pressure she was under was also insanely big. She wasn't allowed to make one mistake. What's more she felt such a strong emotional connection to Abby that she treated her like she was goddess. Notice that most of the times she messed up (in my heart, maestro man) she wasn't scared of losing but of letting down Abby, she was always saying "Abby is going to hate me".
I’m Good. I would be interested in a Broadway Baby episode. However I don’t know what you could do with that episode though. I feel like there’s barely any material to work with. The only thing I could think of is did Abby want to stuff her dog or did the producers try to push it on her.
I get what you’re saying. Being from the dance world the way they rehearse is because it is hot as hell. And rehearsals go on for 8 hrs continuously. But for some reasons dance teachers get too involved in our lives. And it’s toxic. But their rehearsal attire has nothing to do with sexuality. It’s for comfort.

The fact that Abby clearly mistreated Jojo, and she claims to "not remember it," but Jojo and the Siwa Family still welcomed her into their home is honestly astonishing. Like, that right there is the definition of forgiving but not forgetting. Jojo definitely remembers all the horrible stuff that was said to her, remembers how she was mistreated, yet she still talks good about Abby and still welcomes her into her home. Like, the amount of kindness and generosity that would take, to let someone who emotionally abused you and stole from you, into your home and to keep in contact with them as a friend, is outstanding and props to Jojo for having such a big heart.
I don’t think there’s anything particularly healthy about that. None of these girls should be pressured to forgive or make up with Abby to show that they have big hearts. They were small children and were treated horribly by an important adult in their lives. Not only that, but it was done partly for the entertainment of the world. To this day Abby hasn’t expressed any kind of real remorse for the way she abused her position of power and humiliated those little girls. She doesn’t even have anything nice to say about them.

Everything has its end one way or another and this end had me literally in tears. Like family, ALL OF THEM, with Abby and each other, moving on is sometimes very hard for some. The way some of them moved on, others will not understand, only they have their reasons and its their personal reasons. Perhaps that part remains, personal and private reasons, and for no one else. They shared pretty much their entire life with the world, and I'm sure as a child was very difficult. So that part has to remain theirs. But, I in no way at all, ever denied the love and respect Abby and each of her dancers had and still have, for Abby and each other. Yeah, I was waiting for Nia. She was an OG member. Adding her in wouldn't have been much trouble.
The interesting thing is that Nia was the only one who never said anything bad about Abby and always appreciated her whenever she talked about the show among the other cast members for the longest... That is, until about a year ago I noticed a change in Nia. She seemed bitter or something. It kind of disappointed me because I always regarded this as a different quality in her compared to the rest. It's understandable, though. In general, I noticed that Nia changed from how she used to be. I don't really follow her anymore...

All of them suffered so much, even Maddie. She just suffered in a different way. She was forced to see her friends get broken down in front of her and couldn’t do anything about it.
She was manipulated and told that nobody would be happy for her and that everyone was jealous of her.
She had high expectation put on her like ‘always win,’ ‘nobody will love you if you lose.’
No wonder she went into a panic when she lost, she was tricked by Abby into thinking that people would only love her if she won.
And the other girls were ignored and weren’t seen for their true potential.

Abby talks about money changing people and yet it changed her the most and so she projected that on others.

Honestly I’m still confused as to why Chloé was so hated. People say it’s because of her mom, which it probably is, but Abby has called out Melissa on the show several times and it never stopped her from loving Maddie, and Brooke was supposedly her favorite before despite her “long painful history” with Kelly. Chloe also had the best technique on the show in the first few seasons she was on, so calling her “not a hard worker” doesn’t make much sense to me. Maybe Abby felt like if the Lukasiak family wasn’t singing her praises all the time like the Ziegler-Gisonis were that was some form of disrespect? Seems to me like all the Lukasiaks wanted was for Chloé to have a life outside of dance (in the earlier seasons, before dance and entertainment became Chloé’s primary career choice)
Edit: No shade to the Ziegler-Gisonis, for the record. I’m a fan of Maddie and Kenzie and they honestly seem very sweet and humble considering how highly praised they were for so long. A lot of people say that Maddie didn't suffer in Alcd at all comparing to other girls but she did, just in a different way. Abby was always telling her that her friends don't care about her and she can't let them beat her. The amount of pressure she was under was also insanely big. She wasn't allowed to make one mistake. What's more she felt such a strong emotional connection to Abby that she treated her like she was goddess. Notice that most of the times she messed up (in my heart, maestro man) she wasn't scared of losing but of letting down Abby, she was always saying "Abby is going to hate me".
