No bro. We do the same in odisha here. You have to fry the onion until it releases all the water. For this reason the onion totally melt in the gravy and you can't find any onion chunks in it.

I used to use yoghurt but later found that tomato is better. Also once cooked if stored for next meal them Yoghurt changes the taste a little bit & also makes it thicker.

Nice recipe but he added way too much mustard oil in the beginning. If it's me I'm only adding 1/2 a cup or less

I can have murghi jhol and baath (rice) everyday. I am not sure about the use of yogurt and tomato. Bangladeshi don’t use those ingredients for jhol.
