Thank you. The best tutorial I have come accross on Freeform. This is a life changing app. It will replace many other apps. A bit lag, though. And sometimes the keyboard is not displaying when I want to type text then I have to turn off bluetooth, quit the app and all sorts of things to make it work again. I think they will soon fix it.
On the iPad I had that keyboard problem (with the Magic Keyboard) occasionally but not within Freeform but other apps. Detaching and reattaching the iPad solved it for me. So I think it is a general problem and I hope they‘ll fix it soon.

Thanks for the great videos. Quick question - when I select the 'show fonts' in freeform - no fonts appear. I only have the default font available. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this? Thank you.
You need to select a text element or a shape, then selecting the Aa button on the popup menu and again the Aa button brings up the font selector (I checked on Mac, iPhone and iPad). BUT, this option is not available on Post it sticker elements.
@@patrickstoeckmann Thanks Patrick. I did try with the text selected as you suggested. I think I may have been on a poster element. I ended up using the whiteboards on Canva to create what I needed. It's very good also. Thanks for your help though - because your video helped me to see what's possible. :-)
Hello, Patrick! Thank you so much for this videos! Can you help me? I write by Apple Pencil a lot in Freeform on the iPad (not handwriting, like a drawing), but not all of it shows in my iPhone. Many pieces of words are lost. I’m not tested collaborate with anyone, but I think it’s not working good too…
That is unfortunate. I haven't had such an issue, but I am using the pencil not that much anyway, mostly for annotations. So far, I haven't had any hickups and haven't seen this happen. So, I don't know how to help you here. Guess you need to contact Apple directly and let them know. Looks like a sync issue.

Can‘t say why they made that decision. I also wish they will allow more flexibility with the printing in the upcoming versions. So far it isn‘t good for using it as a print layout tool. Actually, since boards can get big pretty soon printing only on 1 page makes no sense because everything is so small. Sorry, I can‘t give you a solution here.
Of course. You can define whom you want to share it with by selecting the option “Only invited people”. Also you can define whether they are allowed to make changes or have read-only access. And if they are allowed to invite others.

Only rudimentary. You can send objects one layer to the front or back (or to the top or back layer), but there is no menu to lock or hide layers or even distinguish, which object is on which layer. So, nothing compared to the ability most advanced graphic programs (Photoshop et.al.) have.

After about 2 years, the App STILL has neither folders NOR tags. This makes it pretty useless... who would want to dig around in thousands of boards, without ANY way to organize them?!? Apple is so stupid, again. Nice idea for an App, but ZERO thoughts or development. Sad, very sad.
I can only agree and there is nothing that I can bring as an excuse for Apple. I wished for it to be there 2 years ago. The current state of board organization is utter neglect. Agreed.

Can I use Freeform for making a vision board?
Of course, that is a great application for Freeform.
I thought I saw you crop a church out from a picture imported into Freeform. How did you do that?
By long pressing on the object and selecting „Remove Background“. It is a new feature of IOS/iPADOS 16.

Currently not. I tried it and it says that a device with iOS/iPadOS 16.2 or MacOS 13.1 is needed.

Of course the system-wide CMD-Z (for undo) und CMD+Shift+Z (for redo) work on Freeform as well.
For Freeform on iPad, how do I save boards to Photos?
Well with Photos only doing a screenshot is possible. Otherwise, you can export as PDF.
