I've been using this amp for the last few years with my band, I have the version that came before the push pull knob. It rocks absolutely rocks. My favorite thing about it is even when I use a Les Paul push the amp harder, it still retains a ton of clarity. Def my #1 amp.
@@BuddyBlues He's also the nicest guy in the interactions I've had with him on social media. One trick I learned with my SRT (and this might be unique to the non push pull version I have), but maxing out the volume and tone knob gives you an extra bit of gain and it never sounds overly harsh or bright. It's nuts how many tones you can get out of just those two knobs.
People that don't like the 'VOX sound' probably haven't played a vintage vox at proper volumes. A modern vox setup for bedroom volumes is fine but it can be brittle and nasty. Everything in this video sounds like vintage vox, that squelch in the high mids, that compression. If you like this, you'll like a vintage ac30 or ac50 though they also have different traits as well (bottom end and mids is way more solid and punchy in the ac50).
Top Boost can do everything. From Beeatles and Oasis through Portished and other indie tones to really heavy tones with properly OD/fuzz or boost. Amazing amp schematic with no doubt.
I asked my wife how much a boutique, NY built, VOX style, all-tube amp with reverb and tremolo might cost. She said, “the question is moot. The answer is no.”
Wow, Buddy Hard to believe one of the best Voxiest Bluesman around Swore by the AC30 and the Rangemaster treble booster. RORY GALLAGHER Before there was an SRV there was a Roaring RORY outta Scotland. Surprised. But I also love the Magnatone amps too especially the Pulse Vib/tremelo. If I was the wife I woulda said but I just got you the Ceriatone, which you LOVE.
Ok, great amp, no question but i have not seen them in Australia. Some great SRV Tones in there too. As for the playing, meh... just kidding. Freaking awesome playing Buddy, thanks for the great vid.
The SILVER BELL/bulldog was the original. I got the 1st year marshall built 1993, but it has the green back celestions, I would like to have the Alnico, but I got it at a good deal back in 2002.
Ha! Vox hasn’t made a good amp since the korg era. Boutique builders are doing the vox thing better than vox and more controllable features for modern stage plots. Do I love classic amps? Of course! But wouldn’t tour with a vintage amp that’s for sure.
Not a single modern vox sounds anything like my MK III AC50 and nothing like an SRT+. The new voxs are good value, are they like esoteric vintage voxs, hell no.
That is such a sweet and versatile amp ! What a stellar demo

Dude it is incredible. I’m really impressed with his work

@@christiancrandall1843 you can still do that on both variations! Basically the same amp without Boost pulled (and thank you for the kind words!)
Man that’s smooth ,killer man as always
Gotta be honest that I've shared your view on the VOX sound too... For no reason apparently! This sounds GREAT.
The pioneers of Rock’N’Roll in the U.K., The Shadows, used VOX amps and they sounded great.
Does it really require so many exquisitely played notes?
Just trying to be like you ❤️
Killer playing and lovely tones!
Great sounds…. That guitar is pretty sick too.

Buddy, You make everything sound great. Thank you for the video.

RORY GALLAGER !!!1
Nice sounds dude!!
Yes! Doug and Pat show turned me on to this. Such a cool amp. Unfortunately I chose a 5e3 over this. 🤦♂️
Can't Lose there, ZZtop, Eric Clapton approve of this message LOL.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Score one for the single life. 😎
Ask you wife.....lol
Guess I need another amp 🥲
You should have a 100K subs. Great playing and info. Funny as well.
Love my Henry SRT+. However, JP Henry is based in the Garden State, the great state of New Jersey. Please and thank you.
You are correct and I apologize
@@BuddyBlues No worries. There are many good builders of both boutique amplifiers and pickups all over this part of the US.

When you learn how to tame them, they might be the best amp overall amps

We’ve shipped to Australia, it is possible!!
Good to know. Awesome amp
Love my Vox amp.
Love all my vox amps
Maybe you have never liked the vox sound because you’ve never played a tele through one. Tele’s and vox’s go hand in hand.
RORY used both thru VOX AC30 with a Rangemaster treble boost.
Teles and Strats too 😉
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Unfortunately, you sold me on another amp. haha
❤️
Alnico blue. Vox without that speaker isn’t the real deal.
If possible, uk one, not china

Do you have contact info??
In my about page on RUclips, as previously stated I can’t share my contact info in a comment due to bots that can grab the info etc..
Sounds like a peavey 20w classic
Not a fan of that one.
Vox makes the best (and only) Vox. This is just an overpriced copy.
Vox hasn’t made the SRT model for almost 60 years… if you find one for less than ours, please let me know so I can grab it!!
@@Henryamps Right on, JP ... just ordered my SRT+ ... waiting 8-10 weeks with much anticipation.

Will must have one of those imported Vox. Trying to convince himself they're just as good.
