Tyler, you didn't turn them on to your two-pedal choice. What would you have picked?
Music is Win i
Were you playing Joe Satriani - Baroque with Mick’s two pedals?
"Learn to sing," and "Play with other humans." Terrific advice. Usually you'll get some generic form of "practice, practice, practice," but not from Dan and Mick. Great stuff.
The best two pedal combination is Metal Zone and Metal Zone
Straight into a line 6 spider and you're set for life
Then plug your acoustic electric into it
Just make sure you're using a single coil strat and you're running into the Insane channel of a Spider IV.
The best two pedal combination is a Metal Zone into a Metal Zone straight into a 1x8, mic'ed with a Metal Zone. \m/
I disagree... it's the Miku with the Metal Zone! That's the killer combo :)
All you need is Fuzz, Fuzz is all you need.
G. L. It's my favorite effect. I get a euphoric feeling from it, I hope I'm not the only one.
@@abelramirez7320 You're not. There is a place for people like us: Fuzztopia
OD + Reverb = Happiness
I typically have TPS playing in the background, kind of like a podcast. Soothing voices and great sounds.
I love a bit of overdrive and reverb. I like the warm feeling of overdrive a little bit more than distortion
Mick and Dan are waycool guys. Learned so much from them.
Love that PRS 😍
I’ll get lost with reverb and delay. Most fun combination for me. Guitar swells to crazy ambience. Strymon timeline and big sky!
This review is pretty awesome. Thank you "Music is Win" & "The Pedal Show". You guys are amazing.
Two of the best channels on RUclips!!!! Pure Awesomeness!!!
Fuzz and Fuzz
That 594 is simply stunning. The dark top with the lighter back is a GREAT effect.
Ah man, two of my FAVORITE guitar playing RUclipsrs, together in one That Music Pedal Is Win Show club sandwich!!
Great video , love That Pedal Show !!
this is an amazing video. I love both channels. Dan and mick taught me everything i know about pedals
heck yeah, love both channels and a solid video idea!
Honestly, one of the top videos yet from GuitCon!
When Tyler grinds into that OD sound... WOOF! Yes please! :-)
This is a great collaboration!
MIW Had that, this changes everything look for a moment.
I’m with Dan. I hadn’t heard the D&M drive. Pretty great sounding. Thx for the vid guys.
Awesome!!!
Holy shit, world's colliding. It's like bringing your college friend with you to your HS reunion
Nice video, love the candy apple Tele.
Love those guys!!!!
You can't beat fuzz and wah 🤤
You look in awe there Tyler
Great video
Worlds collide two of my fav channels
Everyone knows the best 2 pedals are distortion and delay!
Jay Pickard me too. I dont how any electric guitarist can live without a form of distortion. Delay adds some character to the cleans and the combine the two and get great lead sound. Cant really think what other 2 pedal combo can offer as much versatility as those 2.
TheTruthseeker707 Well said my friend
Yes! Especially because a lot of amps have built in reverb nowadays.
My child
Yep. I gotta agree. If I only had 2 - that would be my choice. Echoplex & Overdrive for me
I love the face Tyler makes when he knows it’s dissonant....8:58 but he knows where it’s going to resolve and they didn’t.
It’s so cool because the best players do that. For a second you question their sanity then the resolution shows you to be patient and the genius of the player. It’s really a life lesson.....”The dissonance will resolve Grasshopper.”
Simple advice, hard to execute because we need to be able to actual see forward of what we are playing now. Experience.
I agree with you guys that new tones and sounds can help you discover new things. Some of the coolest licks I play (that only guitar players would appreciate) have come about because of the new sonic perspective pedals can afford you.
Max Gray xxxxddddddd
Fabulous chat dude.
The milky vortex! brilliant!
love their channel and this vid too. 🤣🤣
Played a gig Saturday and used 'simplified' rig of 08 PRS Core Mira-79 Deluxe Reverb-OCD- EVH Phase 90- MXR Carbon Copy=EPIC TONE! OCD+CC if pressed for just two pedals with this rig! Echoplex EP-3 and Keeley Java Boost with Marshall JMP rig !
Mick and Dan are great, been watching them for 2 years now, before I purchase a pedal, I gotta check out thier review first!
delay reverb chorus combo is one of the best
Such a great question. I also love delay + trem. If you don't need too much gain then these two will give you that 'big' sound for days. As the only guitarist in a (covers) band, delay+trem are my go-to sounds. YMMV. Other opinions are available.
Dam loved to meet you dude
baroque. nice. satch blast from the past
I'd say either Wah and an OD/Boost or Wah and a Talk Box. My board keeps growing bigger and bigger, but I could live without most of it. Wah is my favourite effect, a Boost is nice to give the Amp a little extra kick, and a Talk Box is just fun. After not really using it the first two years after I got it, I find myself using it more often lately.
You said Mick and Dan you absolute animal
Mick, what kind of shoes are those? Their terrific.
moral of the story, d&m drive, 2 in 1 for the win. nice plug dan!
Nice Satch Tyler...!
My favorite two pedal combination is a cranked Deluxe Reverb's reverb/tremolo footswitch. But assuming that the on-board effects didn't count and I had two actual stompboxes to add to that rig, I'd add wah and delay.
I usually use high gain distortion amps already so my 2 pedals are delay and reverb but usually just use the delay if at all.
Be consistant and dedicated to accomplishing goals and timelines.
This is what the podcast should be like (not that it hasn’t been done before): Interviewing folks from the GU & EGU (Guitar Universe & Extended Guitar Universe) or MU & EMU (sub Music for Guitar).
If you like this you should check out the Tim & Pete show if you haven't, with Tim Pierce and Pete Thorn. When they invite a guitar player to sit around and chat/jam, the level of wisdom they all share is ridiculous.
I would listen to these as Podcasts too bro!
Mick's playing was great man
I’m with Mick on this one, delay and tremolo in that order and harmonic tremolo especially. Sounds great with distortion too which of course can come from the amp
I would choose reverb and delay because the amp can provide the dirt and you can use your volume pot to adjust clean/dirty. My creativity is from reverb and delay so I gotta go with those before anything else.
Mooer Redkid (used for tone, not as a wah/talk) and delay, with drive from the amp/volume knob. I would give a completely different answer in an hours a time and another an hour after that.
The Wash could of been there and the Quiet Theory too, awesome combo delay/reverb pedals
I like Tyler interacting with other humans.
It all depends first on the guitar and amp you're using. For instance, if I'm playing a Fender guitar and a Fender amp, a Tube Screamer OD, or an EQ (gotta bump those mids), or a hard clipping Compressor will be my first choice, and then some sort of Modulation (Phaser, Wah, Flanger, Chorus, Vibrato, whatever).
But if I'm playing a Gibson style guitar through a British amp, I would go for a Tremolo and/or a Delay, or maybe some Fuzz for a different type of gain.
That face Tyler made when Mick was playing!
I'm so surprised!! Thought for sure Mick would go for overdrive and delay (my absolute must have!) and Dan would go for heavier distortion with flanger!!
fender foe the win !
Only 90's kids remember when this video was called "Those guys from That Pedal Show"
wah and tuner
silvio santapaola is that you kirk? xD
McDerp
Oh god no.
I just play bluesrock nothing crazy
I was expecting dan to choose flanger into drive
He did when they did the 350 pounds pedal board challenge
Flanger> Tumnus> BD-2> Maxon AD9 Pro.
For the delay and tremolo combo, do you remember if the tremolo was set before the delay or after?
distortion and reverb would be my pick too
Mike, Dave, you took your own guitars with you overseas?
Do the letters on the G 2 mean, that the Daniel-Side of the D&M Drive is a Boss BD 2 and the Mick-Side of the D&M Drive is a Boss SD 1 in a Keeley-Box?
What happened to the Phil X video? I was looking forward to watching it but now it’s not up anymore.
the best reverb tremolo and distortion are already in a good tube amp, so phaser and univibe are the obvious choice, maybe wah.
Where do I find these "other humans?"
Grinder!
Greg Shane It took me 20+ years to find the right combination of 'humans'. Been playing for 8 yrs together and have chemistry, mutual respect, humility and talent! It takes a lot of effort!!
You are my inspiration to play guitar

P
Damn Tyler you wake up early !
Ah! The question is which 2 pedals but if I use a Custom 64 Deluxe Reverb, I have a great gain channel, reverb and tremolo on board the amp. Guess I need a delay pedal and ...
For me the first would be a wah. As for the second it would depend on the amp. If it's a low gain one like a fender twin then an overdrive. If it's a high gain such as a mesa then I would go for a delay.
I'd go with Digitech Hardwire SC-2 Valve Distortion and the TC Hall of Fame - although delay almost wins out
what kind of pedalboard is that?
DS1 into a Big Muff
If I were to have to gig with two pedals it would be: Strymon Deco and Strymon Flint.
Ab switch and volume pedal 😝
For my two-pedal combo, if I had a TC Electronic Flashback Mini and a JHS Sweet Tea (which might be cheating since it's a dual pedal) I could play about anything I wanted.
Did you notice no one moved when tyler played the first time
This guy is the only reason I
keep my telecaster.
Either Fuzz, Distortion or Overdrive @ #1 and a Delay Pedal @ #2 - End of Story. ( take those 2 out of your signal chain & what have ya got? = Less Versatility )
FAV 2 PEDALS IF THE AMP ALREADY HAS BREAKUP, I WOULD SAY ROSS COMPRESSOR AND MAYBE A WAH OVER A DELAY UNLESS THE DELAY IS SUPER NON TRANSPARENT AND WARM LIKE AN OLD ECHOPLEX
Plz can you do a video on how to play lonley boy
ts808 tubescreamer and Re-20 space echo
2 boss metal zones
Fuzz n Verb
Mine would be delay and reverb I know it's one a lot of people have that combination but it's just so good
Or octave and fuzz
Or fuzz and octave
Blues driver and tube screamer, name a more iconic duo, ill wait.
Wah and wah
distortion with two channels and a good variable options delay, or distortion and wah. any other combo is just not versatile enough. you can kinda make a flanger and even chorus effect with a good delay pedal anyway.
Miku stack Metal Zone pls
Distortion and wah
CrypticBean Kirk Wahmett, is that you?
Yes! Two of my fave channels together like a beautiful orgy! Triple fist! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Throw Sean Daniel and Ian Stich in the mix and I'm spent!
Music is win are you in the uk!!!
paramediccpo . No an event in Germany. Guitcon, held at the Warwick Framus guitar factory.
If we're talking clean tone, I'm torn between slapback echo/reverse delay or tape delay/shimmer reverb. If we're talking dirt, Fuzz and flanger all the way!
Mxr Dime distortion and the boss dm2
