Robert Keeley makes me want to buy Robert Keeley pedals
Yup, me too. I want to buy his stuff just to support him and his company alone. I would honestly be buying them pedals because I want to sound that AWESOME.
Seriously, it does feel a lot better buying something you really want from someone that you can really feel good about supporting as well. Great guy, great company, and really great gear.
I have basically no need for his stuff, but he's so nice in interviews
It's just great to have the founder representing his company. Ya know what I mean? You could argue the Fender company died a bit when Leo left it.
Not only does his stuff sound great, Robert seems like an absolutely top bloke too.
What a great guy Robert Keeley is. I could listen to him all day. Great stuff
yeah, me too :)
Indeed, man. Imagine you in his factory, talking about this and that...
Dan playing through the Filaments reminded me of how magical this tele is.
Googling around for a similar 2000 Fender CU '63 Tele, it looks like they shipped with a Twisted Tele bridge pickup (Custom Shop version..?)
DAN!!!! YOUR DROP D RIFFING HAS MUCH IMPROVED, THANK YOU!!! Did you do it for us metalheads :')? you awesome man you! you could totally demo high gain sludge/hardcore stuff playing those exact riffs that you played around 24:20 onwards and all the way through :)
This has to be one of the best episodes of That Pedal Show ever. Robert Keeley is a genius. Congrats on the D&M drive winning that award. Do more episodes like this please. Hope you guys are enjoying your time in the USA. Cheers
Keybo Dare I wonder if it would've ever been done without guit con
+Mark Holt If would have been... but maybe not as quickly. All props to Warwick and Henning Pauly for doing GuitCon. So cooool!
We will get to Keeley’s facility at some point in the next year. Awesome doooooood for sure.
There is so much tone definition in the Keeley drive pedals and mods. Nothing garbles or muddles up. Just tight and crispy. Sensational.

+POG FROGULPOP Aha, thank you for that.
Thanks!
Fellas, really likes these "pedal maker" episodes. Inspiring how these guys get into the business of making pedals and how into it they are. Sweet.
+James Dalziel Nice one Jamie. We have more coming up.... hope you’re well mate!
Hudson Electronics please. :)
I am quickly becoming a Robert Keeley fan. Thumbs up like
Enjoyed hearing Keeley talk about how they create everything in house as well as how he treats his team of employees. Business practices like that go a long way for me. Seems like a good guy.
+Zackary Johnson It’s really inspiring. When everyone bitches about the price of pedals, I’m always amazed they aren’t way more expensive when they’re actually made by humans in Western developed nations.
+That Pedal Show Mick here, btw
This show has been helping me stay sane through my physics degree for over a year now...
+Luke Saunders We wish you all the best with it Luke!
May the force be with you
May all the forces be with you :)
As someone who did that long ago (without the help of The Pedal Show, alas), I wish you luck! It's worth it.
Just remember that's a degree that can get you a job where you can afford many many pedals haha
So Dan bought the Blues Drive and Mick bought that Hook Reverb right? Mick was in full mojo mode with that verb. Really pleased with Robert giving credit to his workers it really speaks to his character as a person and businessman but also very glad that the guitarist in him takes the piss out of them for not playing a proper instrument.
+Sam Anderson Dan is very smitten with the Super Phat Mod GE for sure. And the Hooke is a glorious sounding thing!
I love the fact Mr. Keeley seems to get the biggest kick out of how much they like the pedals. He seems genuinely humble. I'm proud to own 3 of his pedal.
'I am about as metal as a tree' - quote of the year so far - marvellous!
Robert Keeley is a true gentleman. If you email Keeley support you have a good chance of him answering your question himself. Fantastic company with fantastic pedals. Now about that discount code...
Great warranty too! He fixed one of mine for free no questions asked, and I had it back in a week.
I've been waiting for this one ! Amazing video guys I love everything about it ;-)
He really is a hall of famer for the pedal industry! And a lovely dude too!!
Life's never too short for a good quality pedals video.
What a legend! Great episode guys!!
One of my favorite TPS episodes ever. I'm such a fan of Robert Keeley now. What a great guy, and his company makes great stuff.
Honestly one of the best youtube vids I've watched. Robert Keeley seems such an honest, open guy. I could have listened to him talk and hear his collection of sounds for hours. I can tell D&M were in heaven
Hey, Bob. From an electronic engineer to another, CONGRATULATIONS, man. You got there, you did it...Thanks guys to bring Bob to your show, it made me so delighted with his gadgets and you ears and playing skill. Today I fell my life better...
I love love love love love Dan's energy when he gets excited about something.
Thanks for this guys, another great episode. Awesome pedals and an awesome guest that is Robert Keeley. They are now on my most wanted list.
Love listening to Robert Keeley talk about his pedals, the guy is truly passionate and excited about his work. He was genuinely pumped when these guys were playing.
watching this while playing with my new d&m drive i love it!!:)
Wonderful stuff there guys... many many thanks !
Lovely day with pedals, thanks.
Wonderful stuff. Thanks.
There are only 2 words needed here. Oh man! Seriously nice tones. Continued quality from mr Keeley. Great video
The clear love and admiration Dan has for Keeley’s pedals speaks volumes. Great to see a genuine reaction from someone. Especially these days.thanks Dan, Mick and Robert for this video.
What an astounding designer Mr. Robert Keeley is... I’m ashamed that I’m not more well versed in his line- besides the D&M drive, I don’t have any of his work. That is certainly going to change very soon...
Phenomenal show today- many thanks!
+Francis Gori Nice one Francis!
So cool. Really enjoy these ones with the makers. JHS,TC, and now this. Sweet.
When Mick did those Cream riffs with the Filament was wonderful. I can appreciate the artistry of modern Metal, but it never moves me. However Mick playing that heavy distortion with a Rock emphasis really moves me. Reminded me of 1979 when at the age of 7 I was hearing these for the first time from my stepfather's collection. It was a really bonding moment.
Thanks Martin. That stuff gets me right in the feels too!
Very convincing video and nice touch that you brought in Robert to explain his designs. I bought one on reverb while watching, thanks.
The moment Dan played through the Filaments and de-tuned my brain went straight to Under The Sun by Sabbath. Awesome! :)
Robert Keeley - one of the "TTH" - Top Tone Heros! Thanks Robert!!
Epic episode guys!
A lot of times, these videos make me want to play. It's the enthusiasm and the love of guitar and them little boxes that's just completely inspiring.
Mick going creamy on the Filaments is a great example of build a musical pedal and they will come.
Mr. Keeley is a complete legend. This was a treat. Thank you guys.
+SamEricEdge That’s awesome Sam. Thank you! Inspiring anybody to make cool sounds and play is why we’re here!
Fantastic video, this made my day !!! So happy to be able to call Robert a friend, he's just a genius & an incredible human being, and an extremely good cook too! And then there's also the pedals plus Mick & Dan, awesome !!!
+bvninja Nice one Bev!
So good. Amazing business lessons there from Robert regardless of your industry.
Very cool episode and some really inspired playing from both of you guys!
Great show and a treat to spend time with Robert and his pedals! Congrats on the up coming award for the D&M Drive! You guys need to come Chicago and do a show!
Keeley pedals are consistently great. Such a nice guy as well. On their Facebook page he takes the time to thank customers and contributes to gear conversations. People could learn a lot in terms of customer service from this man
yep, he's awesome!
omg I'd forgotten that today's Friday. Thank you for the reminder ^^
This show has changed my life! Love both these guys (Dan and Mick) and their vibe together. Amazing show, as I've said on various Facebook forums its like Waynes World for Musicians
+enharmonic77 Party time, excellent!!
Robert Keeley= Legend
Haha I love it when you guys stare at each other is disbelief haha. Awesome episode guys, as always.
Top shelf episode! Cheers mates 🍻🍻🍻🍻😄
Brilliant show, great stories, great tones, great fun.... Learned loads, thank you. Made my day!
+Barry Hoon Glad you enjoyed it Barry!
Best guy ever. I'm FanBoying out. Holy hell. Great job guys.
+Eric Carpenter We read that wrong first time. All is good now. Thanks for watching!
Lol. That's funny. Thanks for all you do guys.
Just become a fan of keeley pedals! What an interesting guy; Love his enthusiasm and attitude. Another superb video chaps.
Yeah!!! Robert fan here!!!
You guys rock!!!
Thank you Mr. Keeley!! Awesome episode. I see a Germanium Phat Mod in my future... maybe more!! Very cool giving cudos to your team!! That's a leader!
The Germanium Phat Mod sounds so good... wonderful 70's style crunch tones
How...how...how...? So many good sounds in this video. Definately a fan of Keeley pedals after this interview.
No disrespect to the other youtubers, but this was the BEST Robert Keeley video from GuitCon
First Keeley pedal ever bought was a Java boost, love it. But the same year I got the Keeley 4 knob compressor, and that was a game changer. Probably the most important buy I ever made besides my guitar. God bless Robert and always wanted to thank him for following me on Instagram. Cheers
Dan & Mick & crew, you did an awesome job of recording the sounds on location!
+Deet Cologon That would be me then (Mick here). Crew! ;0)
Do know it's amazing to listen to Mick and Dan play and how they have influenced each other's playing...love listening to both play so much!
+Matthew Hunt Thanks Matthew. We’re secretly becoming the same person so we can clone us and take over the world! Mwahahahahha!
Don't do that! Then, we'd have to meld your names - that comes out as DickMan.
I like how Keeley's main word is "fun" when describing the pedals. You can see his passion for it!
Man alive, that Blues Driver!!!! Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!! That is THE tone in my head 😍 🎸
That's it! I am buyin' a D&M Drive! I get such a kick out of Dan's excitement for sounds and gear! Keeps me coming back.
It was quite refreshing to hear Robert Kelly give credit to his employees at his company! sounds like he runs a great business I really respect Keely products and love new my compressor Plus!
keeley Germanium Super Phat Mod hand built is just fabulous I tried it in a Marshall DSL 5C OMG I start off by saying
I could now gig with it is so impressive, then I tried it with 80watt that is like 150 watts well done Robert such a full range pedal thank you PS thanks for the plectrum
and thank you Mike and Daniel for getting him on your show, to show me how it sounds just Ace
I remember my first “boutique” purchases in the pedal world were an earlier fulldrive II, Emma Reezafratzitz, Z Vex fuzzfactory and a Keeley Katana...soon followed by a second hand found THREE KNOB compressor, I suppose it was a one off or special order. Still have all those pedals and never understood compression until recently now that I’m working with studio gear, but that three knob just has so much mojo and lived on my board. Congrats to you guys on the killer work through the years
Man I love Rob's stuff. If you could save presets and recall them via midi I might have nothing but keeley pedals on my board. Keep up the good work guys. I love these builder episodes.
I love when Mick starts playing his “country” style licks. They sound awesome.
+Matt Johnson Thanks Matt. It’s fluffing really but it get the idea across. :0)
Still have a keeley 2 knob compressor on my board, I really liked that show, nice work
Man. Upon rewatching this video, that filaments is killing me! I play in a church, but if there was ever a distortion pedal that made me want to play some metal this is it. Also, I'm super excited to have a germanium super phat on the way!
Keeley and TPS in one video? My two favorite guitar things! Soooo excited for this one!
+jason matheson Hooray!
I bought a Keeley Blues driver myself. It's a huge part of my tone since day one.
Take my money i want them all. Great video as usual guys.
Gorgeous pedal sounds, and those chords at 34 minutes, gasp.
Congratulations to all 3 of you on the upcoming and well deserved award. The D&M Drive is one of 3 or 4 pedals that I'll never part with. It's really that good.
+Alpha Kitty Thank you kindly. We’re over the moon with it!
Robert is awesome!!! I love my PSI Fuzz
One of my favourite people :)
Congratulations for the D&M drive awards. Amazing.
+Timothy Ritchie cheers Tim :)
An MXR distortion plus pushing a blues driver sounds great. Using the blues driver for main sound and giving it a kick for leads. Really makes it sing.
Very good!
I own a lot of RK's pedals. I purchased a lot of Keeley modded pedals over the years. His modded DS1 is a great pedal. He even made the Metal Zone sound great, that's no small job. His compressors are magic. I like that he does everything in house, it assures top quality. I like buying American too.
Mr Keeley seems like a really nice man.
An those Germanium Fairys inside those pedales... ahhhh...
bravo! Cheers!
@23:18 CONGRATS!!! So well deserved - all of you guys are class acts. (You should do a limited run of TPS Filaments with gold silk-screen on black.)
23:52 DAMN! I'd never heard his metal chops! Pleasantly impressed! 😂
The Filaments. Great show
Dan had to make such a big deal about the Caverns price at $179, now they are going to go up in price!! Loved this one guys. Keeley really loves what he does. Hearing him talk about reconsidering the marketing on pedals and how it relates to his customers is fascinating. You can tell he puts his whole heart into his work.
i want his studio in a box pedals , the memphis sun and the abbey mode, oh my , oh and nice shake up in today's show format ,carry on
I wanna hang out with Robert. He seems like such a fantastic sweet person.
Hell Yeah!
Down to earth and righteous.
Love my keeley compressor Pro, Keeley D&M Drive, and Keeley 30ms. Great Vid with Robert Keeley!
Robert seems like a great guy. Awesome interview.
+Chris Hamm he’s the best, cheers Chris :)
Sounding great Mick! You go buddy!
+Mike Klean Thanks Mike!
you can actually see the love in Mick's eyes the moment that trem reverb comes on! Cracking stuff
+CammojoDragon97 You bet! I luurrrve that stuff. :0)
Not sure which pedal sounded the best...they're all just amazing. However, for a high gain pedal the Filaments clarity and girth blew my mind - no mush, just a perfectly balanced tone. Kudos on all of these Mr. Keeley. PS - I love my original Caverns, but am inspired to replace it with the new and improved.
Man aaaaaalive, that is unreeeeeaaallllll! I love Dan
+dan abnormal love you too Dan ;)
i couldn't live without my Keely Compressor...playing a jazzmaster trough a Vox AC30 is a must have and it is always on
Dan's comment about the wind sock... too good. lol
Keeley mod is the touch of god
Amazing drives. They sound great. Headphones time!
+Simon Williams Do it! You need headphones. :0)
