Man I love the edits with the TV and nose shots for replays. And the first static shot of everyone diving down to Eau Rouge is so cool.
Hey, thank you. I'm happy you like them.
Another awesome video Andy. Keep up the great content & thank you for getting me into the world of iRacing & SIM Racing.
Thank you so much for the support timeless. It means a lot.
Checking in for my lunch period. Great race man, watching you and the Audi battling was so clean. What are your current goals for competing in iracing? I have the quest 2 and the game looks so clean on my monitor compared to quest 2. I might have to mess with the settings again for clarity
Thank you so much. I appreciate you checking out this video.
My current goals are to learn more about how to set up cars for my driving style and to learn more tracks. I also want to learn how to race LMP cars. There's much more to their setups and driving assists (electric motor) than I'm used to.
The quest 2 is fine but there's much better VR headsets out there that will look much better. Mine looks ok but like you, I prefer how it looks on my monitor.
What racing hardware do you use?
This looks fun!!
It was a ton of fun mate. I'm definitely going to be using vr more. It's way more immersive, and I can drive faster because I can see corners better.
@@Andymh5 I tried out VR on PS4 years ago, was a platform game but it was epic! I was a bit dizzy after tho haha. Enjoy man, what an epic way to race!!
PS VR was the first one I tried, and I played Resident Evil. It was unreal.
When I first tried it on iRacing, I had a bit of motion sickness, but I got used to it after a few laps..
I love it now.
What is your vr man it looks cool
Racing in V.R. is amazing. Can't go back to flat-scxreen. I've tried to. Can't drive like that anymore.
VR movement causes me headache other then that nice replays ! 👍
Thanks!
Which vr are u using
13:35 P4, fastest lap. Halfway through the race and almost immediately got taken over.
Great race, better editing.
Hahaha yes. The guy driving the Audi was much better at braking than me. Especially at the corner he overtook me on.
Thanks for the kind words.
I race a little bit on iracing, with just a 34” curved screen.. Is it worth going to VR? I’ve used VR headsets before but unsure how it would be with racing!
Cheers!
Hi Daniel,
VR is definitely more immersive, but for me personally, the headset can become uncomfortable after a couple of ours of racing. I use the Oculus Quest 2, but there are other lighter headsets on the market. One I'd love to have is called the Bigscreen Beyond. It's customised to your specific face, has decent screens, and is lightweight. However, because of this, it is on the higher end of pricing for VR headsets.
It might be worth getting a second-hand headset at a lower cost to try it out beforehand, or you could get the Quest 2, which is more affordable now that there is a newer version out.
Until I get a more comfortable headset, I'll be using my monitor the most for my racing.
Hope this helps.
you should search up oculus mirror stabilization, looks better than the jittery footage you usually get.
I didnt even realize this was a thing. Thank you so much!
Hey, do you see the Racelab UI in your VR headset too?
Hi Lozaur, I don't have Racelabs set up to work in my VR headset, but it is possible. Racelabs has dedicated setting specifically for using their overlays in VR.
@@Andymh5 thanks for the response! I’ve been struggling to get it on my VR, but realized I didn’t need all of that anyways. Went with CrewChief & got a new spotter and that’s about it other than paints.
Great content & quick response! Definitely will sub
Thanks so much!
Crew Chief is amazing. Its a must have imo for sim racing.
Keep all your content VR. Flat screen sim racing is a bit shite
Hi Duke. I appreciate the suggestion.
I love using VR and it's definitely much more immersive than using a screen. However, my Oculus can get very uncomfortable after an hour of use. I've been researching other smaller and lighter headsets and have found one called a big screen, which is (ironically) very small. It'll probably be a while until I save for one, and it's definitely on my radar as an upgrade for my setup.
Thanks.
