The one old car commercial I haven't been able to find is for AMC Javelin. It has a teenager coming home with one and his dad asks him "What's that?" And the kid says "It's a Javelin Dad" Then at the end of the commercial he again pulls up with the Javelin all jacked up with mags and big tires and again his dad asks "What's that?" And his son answers "It's a supercharger Dad" And yes that is what's sticking out of the hood. Would love to see that again.

Cheryl Ladd was in the '77 Thunderbird commercial, while Casey Kasem was doing the voice over in the Nova ad - pretty cool! 🚗✨😊

The "Ford LTD" that became an AMC Pacer ad was awesome!

  • @tedlym.3390

This episode was excellent no matter what car you disliked, hated, liked, or loved. Thank you,

A lot of people "dis" the Mustang II for being based off of an econobox platform (Pinto), Meanwhile the ORIGINAL Mustang was ALSO based off of an econobox platform (Falcon). And the now vaunted "Fox" Mustangs were based on the Fairmont. Also, the first-generation Isuzu Piazza/Impulse was...a Chevette!

I went to high School in the '70s and drove my mother's '70 Nova. My first upgrade was an under dash radio shack 8 Trac

My mom got a 1977 Thunderbird and I remember it well. I ended up driving it across the country when they moved from California to Florida. It was very sluggish and got very poor gas mileage but it was one of the quietest cars I ever remember driving in and had a very smooth ride and still handled quite well. I drove 10 hours a day on the trip across the country and at the end of the day didn't even really feel that tired because of the smooth ride and quietness of that car. I think it averaged 16 miles per gallon on the trip and would get less than 10 miles per gallon driving around town, other than that it was a great car!
