When you think of it, Arteta joining Arsenal and covid came at a great time relative to eachother. The team's worst season of the century was played behind closed doors, saving matchgoing fans from travelling around the country to watch such a shitshow and when they were allowed back in we started to see progress back towards the top season on season.
And still united have 2 more trophies in that time lol
He should of went during that covid time he lost 11 out of 16 at one point completely horrendous and still hasn’t got over the line throwing away every cup that comes his way

Same, I totally had forgotten how bad they were. I mean I remember seeing the notifications on FotMob of their losses all season but man that season was pretty bad. I remember how other team fans were making fun of how Arsenal were near the relegation zone and Tottenham on top. It wasn’t until the 2022/23 season where things came together and people began to trust the process. Although it took 3 years for it to work.
I forgot how bad it was, I had pushed all memories of lockdown arsenal to the deepest parts of my subconscious.
I wonder what it’s like for Chelsea they’ve spent over a billion in 4 transfer windows yet they finished 12th. Just crazy

The man was defending his way out of professional football. It’s no surprise Arsenal needed to bring Kieran Tierney in just to have someone on the team who looked like they knew what defending was.
Oh, and Arsenal's attack wasn’t just blunt; it was downright boring. Nicolas Pépé - the £72 million signing - was meant to bring fireworks but ended up giving us sparklers. Sure, he'd show flashes of brilliance, but mostly he looked like he was trying to dribble his way out of a maze and getting stuck at every corner. His decision-making was so poor that you could hear Arsenal fans collectively groaning through their TV screens every time he took an extra touch.

By the time the 2020-21 season ended, Arsenal had been bounced out of the Europa League semifinals by *Villarreal*, managed by Unai Emery, the very man they sacked because he wasn’t good enough. The irony was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Arsenal were reduced to watching European football from their couches, as the "Big 6" became the "Big 5 and Arsenal."
In conclusion, Arsenal between 2019 and 2021 was a tragicomic experience, a mixture of cluelessness, lack of leadership, and underwhelming signings that turned what was once a feared club into a running punchline. No crowds in the stadium? It was probably for the best.
