IMO the LUDT is the best auto knife ever made. It's an incredible EDC for anyone who can legally carry an auto. Slices incredibly well. I'm looking forward to picking up a Gen III to accompany my well loved Gen II.
4:57 i saw this same weak review after i had bought mine. I got a lil worried. Then i got it, 0% the issue they made it out to be. I love mine. Its juat like u said. Lota of times u buy a knife "ita another knife" this v3 is hands down my fav new edc
Jackson hole 11:02 wyoming. 1989. My cousins and i were out causing meyham while our parents were eating dinner. We were supposed to be playing pitfight by the skipros office. But, we were standing over the entrance to the night club, and cousin johnny was flashing his switch blade to any adult that would look at us 😂😂😂😂 not a single person gave a single shit that whole night. I was 9. It was amazing. Ill always love you for that wyoming.
I now have a natural clear in addition to the black that I commented on a couple of months ago - wow - I can’t say enough about this knife - it’s amazing! I was never a traction tape fan until I bought an auto Socom Elite - you get excellent feel and grip “traction” and of the material gets worn or damaged, it’s a breeze to drop a new piece in its place - it’s perfect for a knife!
That's awesome! My ludt gen 3 is still one of my favorite knives I've purchased this year...and I'm not even big into automatic knives😂 I guess there's always exceptions after all...that said, microtech needs to release a manual version of this knife stat..that would be next level
The Gen 3 is quite nice and I like the changes they made, particularly the overall shape and the standardized hardware. I have an older LUDT from 2012 and those special bolts are a real PITA to manipulate, even with the appropriate tool. My main wish for that series is that Microtoech would offer a version that gets rid of the encyclopedia of printed garbage on the blade. The billboarding bothered me so much (though I loved the knife) that I completely refinished the blade on mine to strip the DLC and sand out all that dumb text.
Got the tanto version today. Loving it! Was a little worried that it might be too small because I’m use to carrying bigger knives. It is smaller than what I’m used to but it’s not bad at all. Looking forward to carrying it!
this is my favorite microtech at this point..... ive tried all the ramloks.... multiple otfs..... i hated the way the previous ludts looked..... but this model looks great and i love mine.... it is so slicey

I just got this same exact knife with the tanto blade and its easily my favorite knife I own now. Wish I could've bought 2!! Paid 261 for it but Ida paid 361 and still bought 2! 😆
Have heard good things have never held one love the look of it! My favorite auto is a lefty Protech 3.5 so I like out the side autos heck gave my buddy my Dirac Delta because OTF’s just are not my favorite and he LOVES the thing so all worked out!
I've got a couple auto's just to have in the collection and they're great knives they're just not really my thing, I love the aesthetics of the LUDT other than that awful pocket clip but I'd love to see it in a manual with just thumbstuds then I'd buy it in a minute
Yeah personal preference for me is shorter clips and I like a clean look on a scale as opposed to a lanyard hole I won't use but I could see those preferences being different for someone that does add a lanyard🍻
Nice blade!! IMO though, the last 2nd gens from late 2023 were the best of the bunch. They have the bearings, torx hardware, and no stupid looking grip tape. The cleanest design of all. That's just my opinion though, and 3rd gen is quite fantastic.
I have the Gen 2 and thete are defunately days when U wiuld be nire comfiryabke carry a smaller frame. Micritech is missing the boat nit bringing back small version.
Does this have longer scales than the last model? I have the second generation and it feels like hot garbage. It’s too small, it jams my fingers together! .
People like to rag on Microtech pricing because they can't afford it. I think however you are 100%...this company has very decent pricing for what they offer. Starts to drop off when you get into signature series items but if you're getting into that realm price shouldn't be a problem.
No knife will ever surpass my Large Inkosi, Midi Marauder and Slim Midi Marauder - those for me are the pantheon, never to be challenged or beaten by anything ever. That said, I have the black version of the LUDT, will get the Tan - wow, what an incredible knife. This will serve as my secondary and frankly with the blade shape, scales and titanium back spacer, this knife for under $300 is unbelievable.
I agree - expertly Crafted in the USA, a perfect Magnacut heat treatment, those large washers make the Chris Reeve knives so much better than anyone else in terms of securing the blade, very thin behind the edge, lifetime warranty and lifetime spa service that restores your knife to new if you wish for less than $30 - incredible IMO!

Beautiful blade bro, appreciate you sharing🥷🏽🤜🏽💥🤛🏽
Thanks for watching Blu!!

The Scarab 2 is pretty dope too.

A knife and a work of literature. What a deal. Seriously a nice looking knife. I'd give 200
That is truly a gorgeous knife. If I had one complaint, it would just be the billboarding on the blade.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if MT just does that to drive sales on their "shadow" versions..the billboarding is obnoxious
I have one of the Gen 2s in tactical black and I love it. But when I find a Gen 3 in black with apocalyptic blade and hardware, I’m grabbing it!
Got the tanto version today. Loving it! Was a little worried that it might be too small because I’m use to carrying bigger knives. It is smaller than what I’m used to but it’s not bad at all. Looking forward to carrying it!
Ya i just got mine today, hand barely fits it. I found a burr on the lock bar as well. Not in love but I'm sure I can make my money back if needed.
big improvement to me. i never liked the look of the horizontal grooves on the previous version
The previous version didn't do anything for me either, the new version though...damn
Thanks for sharing brother 🤙
I haven't handled the gen 3, but based on looks, I prefer my gen 2 personally.
Me too!😒
Ok i have had my LUDT for 2 years it's my EDC i love it it actually took me 3 years to get one iam not going to lie i like the new one😊
this is my favorite microtech at this point..... ive tried all the ramloks.... multiple otfs..... i hated the way the previous ludts looked..... but this model looks great and i love mine.... it is so slicey
That pocket clip is my only complaint. Would be nice to see some kind of mini deep pocket.
Clip doesn't bother me personally but I'd still prefer the same clip from the amphibian
I don’t understand why Microtech doesn’t do a manual version. Add a thumb stud do away with the spring and keep the button lock
Flipper tab or spidy hole!

It's one of my favorite pieces right now..carrying it a ton
They have a manual version...its the Rike Anax. Lol. Look to be the same overall blade shape. As soon as I get my Ludt, I'll confirm my theory.
Have a first generation. It’s pretty good.
Gotta have this now ! I love my MSI, but i want the Amphibian too....
All three are great and in my opinion shine in different scenarios, but for most things the ludt gen 3 is perfect 👌🏻
Damn, you have a point (or two) there! 🤯
This knive turns heads.i buy this knive .eye popping.l love autos a lot .
Have heard good things have never held one love the look of it! My favorite auto is a lefty Protech 3.5 so I like out the side autos heck gave my buddy my Dirac Delta because OTF’s just are not my favorite and he LOVES the thing so all worked out!
Typically OTFs are the autos I like but I'm starting to gain am appreciation. For a good OTS
This is one of the very few OTS that I like. I do like the tan.
Great minds Jim!! Great minds...🙌
This is way better than the others, I’ll get one of these.
Definitely worth it in my opinion, such a great carry
I've got a couple auto's just to have in the collection and they're great knives they're just not really my thing, I love the aesthetics of the LUDT other than that awful pocket clip but I'd love to see it in a manual with just thumbstuds then I'd buy it in a minute
I'd like to see It with the Ram Lok...I really enjoy my ram lok stitch amd I think a manual version of this knife would be excellent too
@@Rollshambo That would be great too, I do really like the Ram Lock
Awesome knife. Im a black n color guy but i think i like the bronze better..
The tan(bronze) is beautiful, I generally go for the black and satin look too but on this one I couldn't help myself😂🍻
Thats a beast
And another one goes on the list
Definitely list worthy!
Looks solid
Illegal over here but i need one 😍
Looks like the LUDT and Anax had a love child.
Holding out for a ramlock version. It's coming soon.
Don't tease me..I will buy it😅
@@Rollshambo Bro, you know it's coming, and it'll be $10 less😂
2 shorten that clip would be hideous and the lanyard hole looks good 2 each there own I guess badass knife no doubt though.
Yeah personal preference for me is shorter clips and I like a clean look on a scale as opposed to a lanyard hole I won't use but I could see those preferences being different for someone that does add a lanyard🍻

The stop pin and the screw next to the back spacer are different on some models, is this normal?
Nice. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I have the Gen 2 and thete are defunately days when U wiuld be nire comfiryabke carry a smaller frame. Micritech is missing the boat nit bringing back small version.
I wont cha, I need yah. Very nice
WOW , UDT 🤔really weird this video drops same day Baltimore bridge drops to underwater from shipwreck, coencidence im sure😳stay sharp🤘🤩

I can’t stand micro techs aesthetics

large inkosi and large Sebenza in 63+ Magnacut is arguably the best pocket knife in existence 😊
The only downside to this knife is the awful heat treat on their M390mk.
I’m blown away a company of this magnitude can get this wrong.. HOW?!
