Yesterday was the first raid in my 50 year old life, and I think I know exactly what you mean with "people lifting each other up" :D. But hey, as I am one of the "mechanically handicapped" I would also like to thank you for this expression, sound soooo PC :).
We cleared MC 3 days ago and killed Ragnaros with a raid with like 20 of those 40 people between 55-59 equipped with not even bis-blues and some greens. I played classic back then but never did MC so it was my first time and I was totally shocked by how easy the raid was! It was much easier than most high level 5-mans and the only challenge was Ragnaros, coordinating where everyone has to stand. We didn't even use many Fire Protection Potion besides the Tanks and some individuals. It was fun of course but like I said, totally shocked by the difficulty.
Players know what they're doing these days, that's why. MC was a challenge back in the day because people were still learning the optimised builds, what was BiS, what rotations worked best, how to approach the raid effectively etc. It's like as a Horde player I remember Wailing Caverns in early vanilla being a fucking nightmare. It took forever to run, was plagued with multiple wipes, and was just generally seen as pretty tough for an early instance, but I've been running it in classic constantly with various alts and think I've only seen one wipe the entire time. I remember wipes in general being way more common back in classic. It's not gotten easier, we've all just gotten better. Even if you only have two people in a 5-man who know what they're doing, things should go relatively well (a good tank/healer pair will usually find dungeon running a cinch), and it's the same for a raid; so long as a core group are well equipped and know exactly what to do, it should go relatively easy for everyone involved.
So I see a lot of people post and talk about pre-raid bis lists and all that good stuff. And that's all fine and dandy, but how about a actualy raid BiS list for the different phases, does one of those exist? So one knows what to look for WITHIN the raids in each phase and what not?
@@sevenroses8488 I only find raid BiS for each phase. So for when Phase2 comes out, I can find a bis for it, and same for all the other phases, but not for ACTUALY P1 RAID gear.

You gotta keep in mind that this is 15 year old content. When vanilla first rolled around people were still learning how to best beat these raids and there was a lot less easy access to things like youtube guides. The raids seem easier now because there's a lot of people who ran them hundreds of times back in the original and know what they're doing. If you've got a core of experienced raiders giving the orders, you'll always find the runs relatively 'easy'.
