Anytime I hear The Pointer Sisters, I always think of the classic police chase in the opening of Beverly Hills Cop when their classic hit “Neutron Dance” is playing ✌️😁✌️. One of the all time greatest girl groups 👍😁❤️

The Pointer Sisters -one of the greatest singing groups of all time. Their music is classic and timeless.
I treasure this song, along with "Fire." These ladies were unbelievable live. One of the few concerts in my life was one of theirs. It surprised me they sang together then each had their own spotlight individually. They were all different, singing in different styles, and they were on fire. One of the best concerts I ever attended. They blew the roof off with "I'm So Excited." They were exquisitely classy and beautiful. In my opinion, they should have been even bigger stars. (I think they had personal issues.) They were right up there with the very best; they could sing anything. Tina Turner should have done a tour with them. It would have been legend.
My older sister in the 70s-80s loved Cher, Diana Ross, Barbara, Donna Summers. I believe it was the Beacon theaters where she saw the Pointer Sisters. All great memories.
My favorite Pointer Sisters song will forever be "Automatic". It had very special meaning to me as a teenager.
This song has been everywhere...commercials, tv shows, movies...also played a lot at sporting events

This was used in a little seen film called Summer Lovers starring Daryl Hannah about a wild trio and their sexual shenanigans in Greece! (1982) There is also a Spanish comedy by director Pedro Almodovar called I’m So Excited and the flight attendants entertain the passengers with a lip sync of the song!
Great classic, they're so good. I think there's one left, could be wrong. "He's So Shy" is another good one. "Jump" is my favorite from them.

This song was written by Anita and another writer. Anita also wrote other songs as well. She was a wonderful singer as well. Ruth was the oldest, Anita, Bonnie ( she left the group), and then the youngest was June. They were raised in a church, and their patents were ministers.

I saw the Pointer Sisters at Caesar's Palace on opening night. They were great entertainers. Several costume changes and great music.

This song was in the first "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983) when Christie Brinkley was driving up to Chevy Chase in her (I believe) trans-am. In other showings this song has been dubbed over by another Pointer Sisters song no one had heard of. For othet great Pointer Sisters songs to react to I highly recommend "Jump For My Love" and "Automatic" both released in 1984, which was their biggest year to date.

Fire and Slow Hand are classics. Plus anything with Bonnie Pointer as well. Btw, most dont get the meaning of this song. I certainly missed it as a 14-year-old.
Please, please, take a look at the live version recorded at night of the proms. The energy in that performance is off the charts.
