Well thank you to the last 5 comments.....everything I wanted to say.....let me add, with respect to all the woman Groups of the past.....the Pointer Sisters are the best......line up each woman groups best song and performance , none can compare to any of the Sisters up tempo songs...maybe Heat Wave...close.....do not know how people could pick the Supreme's as the number one female Group.....The sisters could sing ballads ,Jazz, Country RnB, plus, their showmanship was unmatched....should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of fame.........Jump would make a dead person get up and dance.....can you imagine being at that show in Paris.....

June Pointer was so reserved in interviews. On stage... she was an energetic, undeniable and incomparable force. She was a free and fun loving spirit, she'd sing her butt off. The stage was her domain, where she could forget her tragic past and the troubles in her life at the time. Rest in peace, June Pointer.

Goodness, when I think about Pointer Sisters memories... Buying all their singles, vinyl albums, 12" singles... Then buying all the albums on Cd over again... Recording all their videos from TV onto VHS, including this concert, plus the "Up All Night" special. The Pointer Sisters have always been such a joy for me. I know they had their share of troubles, having read Ruth's book and Anita's book, but they never let it show. I'm in awe and always will be until the day my time comes 🙏 Bless Ruth, Anita, Bonnie and June 💗

June Pointer, shown from 40:05, to, 44:06, in pink, blue, and, white, could have had a concert by herself. It could have been a two and a half hour concert.(2 1/2 hour concert.) Tickets could sell for $450.00(four hundred and fifty dollars) each. The venue could be where the Michigan State Spartans play their home football games, where capacity is about 102,000(one hundred and two thousand) people. The place would be packed, and sold out, LONG BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE DATE. JUNE POINTER WAS ONE SUUUUPERBAAAAD GIRL.

Very unfortunate to say however we lost Bonnie pointer of The pointer sisters on June the 8th 2020 in Los Angeles California at the age of 69 she died of a cardiac arrest and she had been it suffering from health problems for many many years. Only two of the original I still alive and that is Anita and Ruth pointer. Anita still performs with the group and for her due to health problems she now has retired and spends her time on the road with her daughter and granddaughter. Thank you.

Why are these ladies not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?!

I could’ve sworn they were inducted not that long ago!❤
Edit: That was their star on the HWOF.
Wow. That is a tragedy! They were head and shoulders above others, past and present.

Everytime I see their old performances my heart breaks for June. What that woman went through during her lifetime...quite literally hell on earth. And she looks so positively joyful here, which is that much more saddening.

the pointer sisters hands down are the most versitle band out there. they cover all genres of music . country, rock, r&b, pop, jazz, hip hop, you name it. they cover it just about everything, except for rap.

Anita was right to imply I was ignorant. I had NO ****ING CLUE that the Pointer Sisters were the pop music equivalent of Jackie Robinson. The first sisters ever to make white country fans swoon. (Or were they?????) GOD BLESS THEIR EVERLASTING SOULS.

p.s. You are incorrect, they dipped their beautiful toes in proto-rap, OF COURSE.

The song Goldmine has a bit of rap in it, with June at the lead vocals.

@@ccefc_families297 Hmmm. Need to rehear it. I was thinking of a scat breakdown the sisters did in the mid 70s. Verrrrry close to rap. Like I said: PROTO. Protean. The seeds of a mew genre. That would eventually be dominated by its pioner...ess. 👀
