    They deserve their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being able to transcend genres of music and bringing the world happiness through their talents. Let's make this happen while Ruth and Anita are with us . June and Bonnie will always be remembered bless you both.

      It has always been in the back of my mind that Bonnie missed out on the best times...with that said, I had been hoping for two things...that Bonnie would get to record some songs with Anita and Ruth...and that they would get into the Hall Of Fame, so Bonnie could carry on...it's a shame neither happened.

    • @paulchandler9241
      @paulchandler9241 4 года назад +11

      GOLD, indeed. I'm trying to figure out what epithets would be best for each. Anita has always been "The Hot One", but that's only because most only remember three sisters...Bonnie is CLEARLY The Hawt One. (Pssst: They're all hot.) Anita is probably better known as The Vain One...but that's actually more like a sisterly in-joke...she knows...she's toying with our expectations. She's probably better known as...The Beautiful One? (Pssst: They're all beautiful.) Ruth...well, look...she's intimidating. I would prefer not to call her a nickname, for fear that getting the wrong one would incite her to punch me in the throat. But one must take a risk every now and then, so...The Strong One? (Pssst: They're all strong.) June? Duh. She's...The Shy One. 😐🤣 (Pssst: She's not shy.) Or perhaps The Humble One. 🤨🤣 (Pssst: In the "afterlife", all she does is congratulate herself.) Or better yet, The Crazy One. (Pssst: No joke here.) Or as it was hinted at in their Up All Nite special: The Smart One. (Pssst: She is literally the smartest human being to ever walk the earth.) To me, no offense to the others, she's: The Best One.

    These über-talented women aren't just singing. They aren't just entertaining. They are taking the viewer through a 20th century music lesson. Holy cow! Starting with ragtime, they then roll to country & western (not the modern country crap you hear today) then scat, then flapper jazz, and round it out with tap-dancing. I first got hooked on them as a teen, honestly for the "leg buffet". But over the years they have been paragons of musical talent to me for just these reasons...

    Hey music fans, this is Golden. Early Pointer Sisters Singin' n Stylin'. So much musical talent, organic sistah energy, funky theatrical style, soulful song and humor spiced with authentic Hot Drama Queen delivery. Lol. They be OakTown gurls!!!! Anyone who was paying attention knew right away, they were going to The TOP. And they did. Much love and respect for memory of June, Bonnie and Gaylord Birch. Treasure this recording and performance.

    I wish the younger girl groups would have looked at this and stepped their games up! I LOVE the Pointer Sisters and miss June and Bonnie, but I'm so glad my mother raised me on their music. Ever since I heard them sing on "Car Wash", I was smitten. Ruth is my hero. The songs they sang...even the kid chant song...we sang that when I was growing up.
    Beautiful and harmonious. Real talent. Clean and demure. Classy yet sassy. Natural performers. Engaging. Yes, they need to be in the Hall of Fame.

      MissySampson1 The Sister Sledge suffered from being closely associated with Disco and had few non-disco hits. The Pointer Sisters, by covering country, pop, disco, and R &B, were able to have longer traction into the 80's until June unfortunately died,.
