A Christmas carol that really sums up the feel of a typical British winter! Hope you like this take on Holst's setting - I based each variation on the feel of the verses in the sung version, including a "tenor solo" in verse 3.
I'd like to dedicate this video to my friend Gill, who loves carols. Happy Christmas. x
    Thank you:

Wow, just wow. The tone control near the sound board is ON POINT. And what ever you do to get that perfect resonance and placement on those harmonics, it's just phenomenal.

Ages ago I took lessons on the lever harp, and when I learned to do that thing on the strings you do starting around 2:06, I remember feeling VERY impressed with myself, but I could never do it reliably enough to work it into a piece!
Anyway, it's too early for this song lol, but boy is it one of my favorites for Christmas. "What can I give him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would give a lamb. If I were a wise man, I would do my part. Yet what I can I give him, give him my heart."

Your music always touches my soul but this one cuts me in two. I always feel your music and this just makes my soul cry out in joy and sorrow with peace as do some other covers you have done lol. Thanks Amy! You're amazing! I love to hear all music as you do. No Discrimination! Your music is always so overwhelmingly uplifting even in the lonely soft notes. Breathtaking! So amazing to hear the music I have waited for all my life that other popular artist will never comprehend or even care to try.

tubbers20 - I’ve been being devastated by this piece on a regular basis....listening to this through headphones. The Harp is humming in this deep warm voice along with the beautiful arrangement....and the delicate grace notes high in the treble, like teardrops....So simple, so perfect.

No Amy, don’t do “The Planets”.
It’s not necessary to waste your precision fingers on some of the pieces with more than 5-part harmonies, just to say you did it. Pick your favorites, leave requests at the back of your list.
Many mistake my interests. I want Amy to continue to make that joyful noise, because she herself is joyful in the doing of it. No one is joyful in the use of their skill, when in the service of others. Some would argue, but that point is inarguable.
Amy’s life in her home country of Britain, is possible to fall into decline, as the country descends into greater tyranny. I hope she remains safe and free, to continue to make her joyful noises...

Actually the poem was only written in 1872, Holst did the first setting in 1906. So it's comparatively modern! I didn't think about it either until I worked on it.
