      Thanks! I hit a snag yesterday with the head gasket I ordered a 1,2,3 hole gasket so I would have a gasket on hand, but when fitted the pistons I found I needed a 4 hole (or zero hole as it is designated) I have never installed a 4 hole so I have had to order one - bugger!!

      Britannica Restorations Ltd, I was wondering about that, as it looks like the skimmed the block’s deck and that would increase piston protrusion.

    Those tappet barrel fixings would be micro encapsulated as OEM components, so I’m guessing your reusing the old ones?
    Turbo oil pipes would be sub assembled to the manifold and turbo as a last job sequence along with dip stick/tube and front end ancillaries.

    Hello Mike I don't do Land Rovers but I've just found you recently and find you very therapeutic to watch as a mechanic.
    In your last video what the locals call bushings you would call a bearing and so would I. Is this the modern equivalent of a white metal bearing?
    If so when you show the end one at the beginning of this video there is a chunk missing out of one side. Will this not affect anything?

    • @BritannicaRestorations

    • @COIcultist
      @COIcultist 3 года назад

      @@BritannicaRestorations Well I fell for that. Looking again the "Missing Chunk" is regular in shape. Is it just the way things look or have you scribed a small line on the machined face of the block at the lower edge of the "Missing Chunk" to line things up?

    Really enjoy your videos. I have a question regarding the 2.0 MPi petrol 4 cylinder engine on a 1997 Defender 90. No. 1: Is this engine any good or would you stay away from this engine as compared to a 200 or 300TDI. No 2: can you add air conditioning to this engine. I can't seem to find any info about adding AC to this particular petrol engine. Thanks

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  2 года назад

      These MPi engines seemed only to be fitted to Italian Police 90's - there is hardly any information on them - the police wanted a small petrol engine but not a V8 and it appears the MPi used as much fuel as a V8 but with no power - I would stay away as parts are very hard to find

      Należy je rozwiercić na miejscu, ale nie jest to możliwe, ponieważ nie mamy dostępu do potrzebnego narzędzia.
      Możesz kupić wstępnie obrobione tuleje firmy Turner Engineering, ale ja już się nimi nie zajmuję
      Myślę, że oni po prostu pielęgnują krzaki
      Dobrym pomysłem może być zakup zestawu od Turners, zmierzenie ich i skopiowanie = jeśli uda mi się zdobyć wymiary, mój warsztat ma maszynę do honowania
      You are supposed to ream them in place, but this is not possible as we have no access to the tool needed.
      You can the pre machined bushes from Turner Engineering, but I no longer deal with them
      I think they just hone the bushes
      It may be a good idea to get a set from Turners, measure them and copy them = if I can get the dimensions, my machine shop has a honing machine
