    The amount off 300 tdi engines that have overnight timing belts in the world when they don't need to be prob premature wear on them I've had a few in and there was 0 movement in the belt great vid Mike donny

    Hi Mike really informative thank you, one question though is this the same procedure for the 200 TDI engines as well ? Keep up the great work my friend

      Similar - depends on if it is a Defender or Discovery - the timing pins are the same

    I’m soon to be having a new belt on a 300 tdi.. should I be taking it steady for a while or just drive it normally straight away?…

    Hi Mike! Amazing job,looks brand new. look, what if some not so trusted mechanic did the Timing of the diesel pump on the second slot of the flywheel. would it be possible? We have a 300tdi that since it came from this mechanic has all kinds of problems, sounds very rough, does not have power no matter how much smoke it makes, and if you road it, it gets hot. Please tell me what you think! You're the best! 🫡

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  Год назад +1

      It would not start on the second notch I would have thought - 90 degrees out - sounds like the belt is off a tooth

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  Год назад

      I have a 1-inch drive air gun - If you cannot lock the flywheel, then it's sump off and block the crank with a lump of wood

    Mike, when you had the engine locked at TDC and pin locked in IP, your camshaft timing marks didn't appear in line? Chasing a 300tdi issue that has good low down power but is dead above around 2600rpm. Possible camshaft timing?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  4 месяца назад

      If the cam timing is out you will probably have the pistons hitting the valves

    • @BritannicaRestorations

      Do you mean the outer cover or the inner/oil pump

    • @StuartDrinkwater-r9g
      @StuartDrinkwater-r9g Год назад +1

      The outer cover. @@BritannicaRestorations

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  Год назад +1

      There are 2 styles of 300 Tdi timing cover, one has a shoulder in it and should be fitted from the inside - the other is parallel
      Usually no problem fitting
