Hey Aaron, just wanted to say thank you. I’ve played Pokémon and followed VGC for years, but had never been to a tournament until OCIC this weekend. I went along and used a team you featured on your channel a while back, and managed to finish with a positive record of 5-4, which was beyond anything I expected. I was absolutely over the moon with that, and I reckon I’ve learnt most of what I know from your channel, so thank you.

QOTD: I think Avalugg getting an ability like Stonjourner's could be pretty cool. Maybe give the partner Pokemon an effective +1 stage of defense as long as it's on the field. Kinda like how ice types get a defense boost in Snow, but only for Avalugg's partner Pokemon.

EDIT: As for the QOTD, I think giving something like Spiritomb a new ability which activates Trick Room when it gets KO’d might be a cool way to set it up. It might be super broken, but that has never stopped the devs before so 🤷🏽♂️

I'm happy to see the funny rock guy is actually usable in VGC. I really love to see teams with uncommon pokemon or a niche strategy that works pretty well
I think Stonjourner does really well when paired with fast, offensive and self sufficient pokemon, Flutter Mane being a great example, but Iron Bundle, Roaring Moon and Gholdengo sound great too. Maybe if you have screen support from Grimmsnarl you could have defensive support as well in addition to Stonjourner's more offensive support to help balance out the faster but frailer pokemon.
Stonjourner might have a potential (power) spot in this current metagame.
I also think Salazzle with Nasty Plot and Heat Wave/Sludge Wave can pair well with Stonjourner. Wide Guard to protect her while she plots, then Power Spot ups the spread to incredible levels!

Thank you for the Stonjourner hightlight, I didn't realize it was basically the opposite of Flutter Mane, which is insanely bulky on the special side naturally - because that bulk on the physical side on Stonjourner is impressive

I don't care what anyone says, Stonjourner is a threat. Boosts your ally's attacks, High physical atk itself, eats physical hits, and has ok support moves like Wide Guard and Imprison.

Something I was thinking about and would like some feedback. I'm thinking about building a mudsdale team with stamina as the ability. Here's my ideas.
Set up trick room ( probably indeedee/armourgue. Figure out a way to proc stamina with something like bullet seed, population bomb etc.
Mudsdale: tera steel
Assault vest
High horsepower
Body press
Heavy slam
(Unsure)
Any input would be appreciated.

QOTD: It would be reasonable to think that Power spot would be the ability of some Pokémon that exude an awesome power without actually being that great in the game. Spiritomb is the most obvious answer to this question, but the original three Regis, Golurk, Beheeyem, Claydol, Solrock and Lunatone also fit the bill for the ability or something similar.

Most of the plays were on point, but against that Sylveon in the last game, the correct move was Iron Hands instead of Stonjourner while the Taunt was active. Fake Out into Dazzling/Shadow, then next turn double up.
QOTD: Drifblim getting something like power spot would be kinda interesting

QOTD: Rabsca would be an interesting one to give a similar ability to, as it already has like a glowing power and the ball it has seems pretty mysterious as there are two different entries theorizing what's inside

I obviously can't play as well as You. But this team is so fun I stopped playing the amazing TR team You presented and I modified and I only dropped from low 1600 to high 1400s. Mane+Stonjourner is actually an amazing opening, I bring it most of the time, with arma+deedee in the back unless they have palafin, dondozo or something like that. Wide guard is amazing, even in OTS few ever consider me clicking it lol.
My biggest issue: can't bring mane+stonjourner with armadeedee and another mon. And Arma without deedee seems lackluster. And I'm considering dropping TR off Arma for a grass type attack, gastro usually warrants bringing Bonnet especially for it which is suboptimal. Hands doesn't hit strong enough into it, its special defense is good enough armadeedee doesn't entirely solve it.
Here is one battle I really like, my opponent played me however they wanted for the first 3 turns. Then I decided to position myself better and sweep off that. I misplayed second to last turn, but I think that wouldn't matter as kingambit usually runs only brick break or low kick. Ft. clutch wakeup after 2 turns of sleep

It would be cool to see a pokemon with an ability that essentially sets gravity so we can stop missing hydro pumps and rock slides. I don’t like the thought of wide lens eating an item slot to make a pokemon viable 🙃

QOTD: In terms of the canon and lore, I think either Arboliva, Comfey, or Audino could be interesting. They all have a calm/soothing presence or healing abilities, so perhaps they could boost a defensive stat by around 1.2x or 1.3x. They could lower the offensive stats of the enemy pokemon across from them, though that just feels like one of the ruin abilities.

People really sleep on calm mind Sylveon. Mine is almost the same, but I run draining kiss for a single target and recovery instead of tera blast and leftovers, with fairy tera and life orb to maximize damage output. There's no coverage and no defensive tera, but If you can position it right, it's basically unstoppable.
now I want to see a team featuring the Sylveon of the last game 💖🎀
