**Tyranitar comes in and misses a rock slide then gets burned** “Tyranitar has honestly done everything in this game I’ve needed him to do” lmao this cracked me up 😂
QotD: Flygon is one of those forgotten Pokemon that could use an ability like Sand Rush, although based on its pokedex description it should get Sand Stream.
Seeing the 111 speed stat on Houndstone really brought back the late Sw/Sh memories from when everything was 112 speed to out speed Calyrex at +2 or under tailwind
Hey man, just finished watched the creator tourney stream that you and wolfe put together. Such a cool event, and your words at the end were so moving. Congratulations to you both on the successful careers you've built for yourselves. I love these team tryouts but would love to see more collabs between you from your perspective.
Honestly at fist glance could seem insane but it really isn't, his type is garbage, his moveset is pretty underwhelming, his bulk isn't better, and you're forcing your whole team into a sand team unless you want to take damage every turn. But it is true that if you terastalize it it becomes better, but you're still going to waste a tera to make a bad pokemon good when you could use it to make a good pokemon excellent. So I'm not sure it would be unbalanced
I have to imagine that it would be a strong option with Focus Sash without being oppressive. You could switch your sand setter into Indeedee for redirection and protection against priority, then leverage sash to pick up two KOs.
Recently, the algorithm has blessed me with your channel! I have to say that your content is top-notch! And i can say with certainty that I'll be a regular.
Hey Aaron! I was your opponent in the final match of the video, great game! I've watched almost all of your VGC videos over the last number of years and this is the 1st time I have ever battled you. It's so awesome being featured in one of your videos, keep up the great work! :)
It's always a wonderful thing to open RUclips for something to watch, only to find a Cybertron video just dropped 3 minutes ago. 2 days in a row with dogs on the team, or at least i think the zoro was a dog. Good stuff.
I’m not sure if you take video suggestions, but if you do I appreciate you reading this! I really love Unite and VGC and with both being at NAIC in June was wondering if you would do a collaboration with Spragels again? There are a handful of pokemon legal in VGC that are in Unite and I think it could be cool if you played a VGC game using only pokemon found in Unite. The Showdown Simulator would make it really easy to build the teams and practice and play and teach Jake how to play. And it’s great to bring the two communities together!
I know I’m late to the party here, but it was a speed tie between Great Tusk and Gholdengo in game 1. Max Speed GT hits 152, which is 228 after booster energy. Gholdengo has 76 speed EVs, which means it has 114 speed, which also means that Gholdengos speed under Tailwind would be 228.
I loved this guy in series 1 series 2 I haven’t been able to battle at all as life’s been a hassle but I’m excited to try it again in the new series. Appreciate all the uploads to keep me sane Aaron we truly do appreciate everything you do
Love the vid, Aaron! Always cool to see you use teams from grassroots tournaments. To answer your question, I’d say Toedscruel would’ve been amazing with Sand Rush. It’d be like Jumpluff with a 100% accurate sleep powder and access to rage powder. Mycelium Might is just such an awful ability, and Sand Rush would’ve allowed Toedscruel to really shine in competitive play.
I’m excited for basculegion to be allowed. It gets access to the move last respects, the swift swim ability, has a huge hp pool, and with only 68 speed investment it’s able to outspeed the insanely speedy dragapult in rain
I really like how you made this houndstone, been wanting to see if I should make a defensive core or a offensive, and this set answered my question. Really like how you showed off this team.
You, Wolfe, James Baek, and ShadyPenguinn are my favorite vgc creators right now and have been since I jumped back into Pokémon as a whole after XY came out. I wanna thank you in particular for consistently having quality videos while still taking time from your personal life to engage with the community.
What a cool team! Always fun to see uncommon mons do some work. QOTD: Drapion with Sand Rush could be pretty neat. It doesn't feel out of place since it's a scorpion and it has somewhat unique Poison/Dark coverage with respectable but not quite amazing base speed and attack. It also learns a ton of very useful moves. Rock Slide, Brick Break, Rock Tomb, Bulldoze, Snarl, Brutal Swing, Knock Off (although it could lose it when next it returns) and Taunt to name a few.
It's really interesting and surprising to me that Grimsnarl having access to Parting Shot didn't make it some sort of ultra-oppressive defensive mon like we've seen from Incineroar in older gens.
Something, something… alligator rhythm…? Great video as always, this is a very curious Pokemon given it feels more potent in singles, but has untapped potential in VGC.
At the end of game 3, you explain the reason why I think Houndstone is stronger than what we give him credit for. He's a passiv Pokémon in the beginning that spreads status moves, but is very dangerous later on if you don't deal with it fast.
This team is still pretty good in todays meta. I just replaced talon flame with zapdos, iron bundle with iron hands, and great tusk with hisuian arcanine.
I think Flygon would be an amazing recipient of the ability sandrush. I cannot wait to play series 2, I haven't been able to as I've been on holiday, but I get home tonight so will get into some games tomorrow. I am determined to build a team around Quaquavale.
I love houndstone, and built a team around it. Mine was focused on boosting last respects with revival blessing leppa berry and explosion. T-tar was on the team for sand rush though.
Played against someone on ladder using this exact rental just as I was watching this video. Learned that the Ttar is pretty slow even under Tailwind, I outsped it with my Flutter Mane who is only like 188 Timid.
QOTD: well not exactly, but Dig, Fly, Dive, and Phantom Force should give you a +1 stat boost on the first turn if used in the correct weather. Dig in sand gives Speed Fly in sun gives Attack Dive in rain gives Defense Phantom Force in snow gives SpDef
Hey cybertron what do you think about Crabominable in TR? I've used him with Ice Spinner to manipulate terrain, Thunder Punch for coverage and tera water Crabhammer for fires. Hyper Cutter blocks Intimidate and with Safety Goggles you wall Amoonguss
I haven't tried it out myself but it sounds really fun! Have not run into it at all this format either so I can imagine you can surprise people with it
Videos like this make me feel like a genius lol I got to top 1000 on masterball after falling to 19K with a similar core. Ttar and Houndstone are the MVPs of my team. I use tera blast on my flying type TTar, and I use protect and shadow sneak on my houndstone over dbond and wisp Life Orb over sitrus. Shadow sneak is nasty into sucker punch kingambit lol I won a game because they sucker punched twice in a row not realizing Shadow sneak will make it fail if im faster lmao
I'm convinced that the best Tera type for Tyranitar is Fairy. I reached the Master Class thanks to him. He's a beast! If the oppenent wants to throw against you a fighting move (like Iron Hands for example) you can counter him with Tera Blast! I used a set with Assault Vest and Rock Slide, Crunch, Tera Blast and Ice Punch (252 HP/252 ATK - Adamant Nature).
Hey Aaron is there a way we could share our teams with you? I made a cool Iron Valiant team that I got top 2.5k in masterball tier that I want to share! It's all thanks to your amazing videos that I was able to climb so high with only 2 months of VGC experience!
Is this a really common core that people are using? I watched this video yday and then noticed Eric Rios from the day 1 VG stream using almost the exact same team with Amoongus over the dog.
as a singles player, i really dont understand the more intricate EV spreads... why on earth does tflame have 4 EVs in hp, def, and spdef? that's 3 points of attack it is missing out on for presumably no real reason. is it just a meme that vgc players do?
Often people spread the EV's to get the most extra points overall. Since the lvl is set to 50, 3 x 4 ev's rounds up to +1 in each stat (+3 total), while 12 ev's in a single stat rounds up to +2. The teambuilder may have also calced that max attack didn't make much difference in any relevent matchup, but idk.
**Tyranitar comes in and misses a rock slide then gets burned**
“Tyranitar has honestly done everything in this game I’ve needed him to do” lmao this cracked me up 😂
It sets the weather atleast, that's something.
@@michaelpeebs yeah I know i thought it was funny still
Oh it was 👌😂

Congratulations to you both on the successful careers you've built for yourselves. I love these team tryouts but would love to see more collabs between you from your perspective.
I don't know how balanced or useful it would be, but Rampardos with Sand Rush could be interesting
Honestly at fist glance could seem insane but it really isn't, his type is garbage, his moveset is pretty underwhelming, his bulk isn't better, and you're forcing your whole team into a sand team unless you want to take damage every turn. Rampardos would still honestly be a worse Lycanroc let alone Excadrill or Vish/Zolt, it would be more interesting in smogon singles lower tiers tho.
Based on one of its Pokedex descriptions, Bronzong should get Drizzle.
@@anna_medeia it wouldn’t be a worse lycanroc tho, it has much higher attack and similar bulk and speed isn’t an issue
Recently, the algorithm has blessed me with your channel! I have to say that your content is top-notch! And i can say with certainty that I'll be a regular.
Welcome!
I love Houndstone, cool to see you feature it with Ttar!!
Your team overview is something that I value A LOT, it's so precious! 😆

Yes finally a "Sandstorm Themed" Team !
Looking forward to seeing some of the less conventional Paradox Pokemon like Iron Jugulis or Slither Wing!

Thanks for the incredible content as always Aaron❤️
3:41 "Rock slide obviously because it's Tyranitar"
Legit could not have explained that any better lol
I was working on building a T Tar and Houndstone core with different mons and this is very helpful. Thank you
Thanks for being so consistent and fun to watch!
Thanks for all the explanations for teams and strats, as a TCG player, getting into VG hasn't been easy but these vids have made it a lot easier

“As long as I don’t miss willow wisp here”. I felt the pain in your voice lol
Just wanted to say your hair looks good here today man. Unlike houndstone who def needs a haircut
2nd game was so well played wow
I really like how you made this houndstone, been wanting to see if I should make a defensive core or a offensive, and this set answered my question. Really like how you showed off this team.
All credits to the original creator for building the set!

DANG!!! Game 3 had me on the edge of my seat! Wow wow wow!
The pressure of iron bundle's hydro pump was so strong that Hippowdon was pierced from mouth to...
Something, something… alligator rhythm…? Great video as always, this is a very curious Pokemon given it feels more potent in singles, but has untapped potential in VGC.
Fun fact: revival blessing counts for last respects meaning you can have a base 300 damage + 2x multiplayer with tera and helping hand which is insane
I’ve been trying this rental for some time and had a pretty nice win streak! Houndstone is totally underrated
Reminds me of Tyler Wu! You both make amazing content!
I used a t-tar and houndstone combo in series 1 of Scarlet and Violet. Good to see houndstone get some love.
Houndstone have been with me the 3 season and I plan to keep using it, by far my favorite pokemon of Paldea
The rise of Great Tusk is very noticeable. I might try it out. Maybe a bulk up set with screens, idk seems fun
At the end of game 3, you explain the reason why I think Houndstone is stronger than what we give him credit for. He's a passiv Pokémon in the beginning that spreads status moves, but is very dangerous later on if you don't deal with it fast.
Helioptile is one of my all time favorite so I'd love to have sand rush on it, it's already pretty speedy and has good support moves
This team is still pretty good in todays meta. I just replaced talon flame with zapdos, iron bundle with iron hands, and great tusk with hisuian arcanine.
I actually made a team similar to this but for series 1, nice to see a series 2 version

Ive spent abit of team theory crafting a splode revbless time. How'd you find it? Worth exploring or don't bother?
Taunt can be a issue, its fun, but it definitely has its flaws. Coverage is a issue.
@@griffbloodax1005 but I also only just started competitive, so I'm sure there's a better build
Did I miss something in that last game? Can someone explain why Aaron's tera-fairy, sitrus berry Houndstone wasn't taking sandstorm damage?
Sand rush ability
@@Xiz4Lucious the ability itself negates sand damage? I guess that makes sense, but I never knew that
Thanks.
@collettiville yep! An example of other pokemon/abilities that do the same is sand veil cacturne
Played against someone on ladder using this exact rental just as I was watching this video. Learned that the Ttar is pretty slow even under Tailwind, I outsped it with my Flutter Mane who is only like 188 Timid.
The Ranked Ladder has definitely been more interesting to me in Series 2 than live events, etc.
Edit: Game 3 was a perfect example.
Always a pleasure Arron, hope you’re having a good day
I hope some day we can see Cybertron feauturing Slither Wing on a team
Hey you should try pallosand to counter iron hands, it walls him so hard .
I forgot houndstone existed. Cool mon!
Seems kind of like a Ghost-type Arcanine.
QOTD: well not exactly, but Dig, Fly, Dive, and Phantom Force should give you a +1 stat boost on the first turn if used in the correct weather.
Dig in sand gives Speed
Fly in sun gives Attack
Dive in rain gives Defense
Phantom Force in snow gives SpDef
Almost the first one hahaha thanks for the videos! They have helped me a lot in vgc, for me you are the GOAT 🐐
When you open up YT and a CybertronVGC vid dropped 😮💨🙏🏽 gonna be a good day!
watching VGC youtubers looks like you guys usually forget about Glaive Rush double edge when calculating dmg
I wish the people I get paired up against can throw the game as hard as that hippowdon 😢

You should try a volcarona/oricorio dance team!!!
Should there be a SpA version of Intimidate?
Play rough catches me off guard every time it misses 😂

I played your game 3 opponent yesterday, got cleaned up by their Houndstone in the back 😅
Iron thorns would be cool with sand rush
Special Waters got done dirty without any replacement for Scald. Time to run Water Pulse I guess.
Who is gonna make a team with Houndstone, Supreme Overlord Kingambit and Pawmot with Revival Blessing?
Use Paul Ruiz teams, he Is using Paradox with his normal conterparts. He used Flutter Mane with missdreavus AND roaring moon with salamence.
QOTD: caturne. It has a lot of desert in it's lore it would make sense

People normally send me teams via Twitter DMs! Congrats on the great climb and thank you for watching =)
Sounds good! I'll be sure to share it there, can't wait to see what you do with this houndstone team! 😁
Thanks for the videos!
Arguably the scariest thing about Houndstone is that when it stands up partway, it looks *unsettlingly* like a hunched-over human.
Video Idea: Try a Pachirisu team. I wanna see how viable it is in Scarlet and Violet.
Clicking hydro over freeze dry in game 3 is wildddddd
So why has meowscarada dropped in usage? It would still be good into iron bundle and great tusks
I think it's simply the case of people still experimenting with other options.
This been my core since series 1. Houndstone underrated. Throw a choice band on him.
I’m so sad this rental team is already down 😫😢
Are you, ThatsA, and Wolfe all friends?
"I'm fine as long as I don't miss will o wisp here"
Oh no
