I finally watched the episode and it was so good. It is one of those times that the villain is so masterfully written to the point that even held by the very people she fought against, Jha’dur had all the power in the world, and not powerless at all. Plus it opened our eyes to the existence of the Dilgar War (Space World War 2) and how fascinating it was in which Earthforce rose to power and had the respect of the League of Non-aligned Worlds, and another enemy faction that was more on the equal footing of Earth rather than the overwhelming Minbari.

Maybe it was part of the way the Vorlons were still hiding who they really were at this point. They were pretending to be as fallible as any of the other races. Note how here, just like in the pilot episode they came through the jump gate, concealing the fact that they could form their own jump points, even though, based on the other races, you would expect ships of that size to have jump engines.

Except the transferring of life from one to another is a recurring theme in the show, so I doubt Kosh would find that important to point out as he’d find it rudimentary. Hard to say as outside of what she said, which is pretty vague, they dont say exactly what needed to be take from one life to allow another one to gain immortality. It could be it was something unique to each race in their genetics, which would mean that it had to be taken from a source within the same race. That does still leave cloning unless what is needed is something that either is commonly removed, or destroyed thru the cloning process.

So instead of killing other humans we instead devastate the ecological balance of the planet and destroy ourselves regardless. I am not sure you grasp just how many have to die just for one person to live forever. It is not a 1:1 trade-off. She might have said it was that way, but she was lying. She wanted humanity to destroy itself completely for revenge for her people and simply because she is what she is.
The Dilgar carry a lot of inspiration from a race featured in a world created by Alan Dean Foster. Most well-known through the Flinx series of books. In there, Earth had encountered another world inhabited by people that were just about humans themselves in appearance and makeup. Things were friendly at first, but then Earth ships began to disappear. After some time it was found that the xeno-humans were hunting down and attacking Earth ships with no warning and no quarter. Just outright destruction. It was discovered that these people were completely xenophobic and wanted no others in the galaxy to survive, and Earth was the nearest target for them. Earth had to completely devastate and kill every single one of the xeno-humans, for even one would continue killing.
In the Dilgar's case, they were just pushed back to their home system and were basically imprisoned there, but then their star went supernova and wiped the rest out, except for Deathwalker. There's a lot to suggest that the star going supernova was not expected, so you can guess what really happened.

I wouldn't trust Death-Walker's statement that the only way to produce the serum was through killing other beings anyway. She probably isn't lying -- that is, she genuinely believes this to be the case. But she has a lot vested in that belief. It's safe to assume that, having discovered a way to produce the serum through killing, she didn't even search for any other method. She just assumed that her method is the only method. She didn't do anything to try and disprove her hypothesis, as an honest scientist shoud; but then, she's neither honest nor a scientist. If she were allowed to carry on her research, and some other scientist did make a discovery suggesting that the material could be synthesized safely and ethically, she'd probably do anything (from falsifying research records, through character-assassination to actual assassination) to discredit that discovery before it could even be tested. Even scientists who merely wish to be right might be tempted into intellectual dishonesty to preserve their reputations; in her case, with her literally murderous track-record, she wouldn't even settle for mere cheating in order to protect her precious hypothesis.

@@elricengquist9989 Don't start to think about it scientifically, because technically it's all a bunch of nonsense. What matters is the moral dilemma. Although from the Vorlon point of view, that dilemma is probably not even necessary for their decision to kill Death-Walker. The humans depicted in the show are not a lot different from the way we are now, so basically useless biology that does nothing but pollute worlds and turn minerals into space garbage. We probably need a few more aeons to evolve into something that is worth to keep around forever.
