Hi Shawn, some quick advice on Turkey! We've been going for the past 5 or so years, (as our grandparents used to live there) and the people we know are lovely! Unfortunately, like you experienced, some Turks aren't as friendly as others and WILL try to rip you off - so we recommend you to stick with what your gut says, and ALWAYS bargain down those prices 🤣!!!

P.S: we know that the Turks do drive awfully, but Coaster Mom says that the Italians are 10x worse!! 🤣

Heard so many stories from friends about the taxi drivers in Turkey! Apparently they have their own little mafia between em all! Gotta be so careful!! :O
Doesn't stop me wanting to go there on Holiday and visit Land Of Legends haha

All the stress you go through to give us great content and good advice is much appreciated. Hope the rest of your time there will be a lot more chilled, expect you will be doing plenty of research before your return to the airport. You have given us the confidence to travel to some great parks across Europe and made it look easy, a shame that Turkiye didn't start so well, thank you

Your stressful experience sounds pretty typical for turkey to be honest but it is a lovely place with lovely people. On a normal family holiday I’d say using a trusted pre booked transfer service is the way to go. Keep safe and enjoy the beautiful country, so much to see there for your other channel.

Great travel vlog! We had a similar experience in a taxi in Bodrum - No seat belts and crazy driving I was happy to just get to resort in one piece. By your brave staying in such a budget place, and shame you couldnt get the Land Of Lengends Hotel that does look amazing. Look fwd to the rest of this trip.
As a Turk, i can confirm that there are some absolute lunatic drivers around so be careful.

What great accommodation for the price! Shame about the taxi, unfortunately I've read and heard a lot about the taxis in Turkey. I've been to Marmaris before and we had problems with a taxi on the first night, similar to your experience so we steered clear of them for the rest of the journey. Glad you're okay though! Stay safe and thank you for the advice!
Antylia was my favourite holiday location to go with my family and we always stayed in this resort called Barut lara
No doubt frightening experience with a non English speaking taxi driver in a strange country that you have never been to. Glad you got through it ok and I can’t wait for your park review of this place. Enjoy your trip Shawn.

Hey Shawn, great timing for this video as me and the missus are looking at taking our children on their first holiday abroad. So much to choose from but we've narrowed down to Antalya, the Canaries or Greece. Have a smashing time at The Land of Legends 👍

Be careful on what time you go we went in July and it was crazy hot you could not walk bare foot on beach and make sure you get travel insurance as their hospitals are crazy costs if you need to use them.
@@ian6506 thanks for the advise 👍 Looking at mid September so should be around 28°c. How hot did it get when you were there?
@@dazwillz7137 it was 37° real feel 45° in July. Had to use the hospital one x-ray stayed overnight and a saline drip charged the insurance company £950 and would not let me go until the money hit their account.
Stayed in a town called Side
Currently laying in bed with what feels like a really awful cold and had to suffer a long journey to work! So thank you for cheering me up! It was such an interesting vlog!

hi shawn i went here 3 years ago and absolutely loved it hyper amazing and also make sure you check out galleon the top spin that amazing and also the tagada with seat belts lol . also if you go again you have to stay in the kingdom hotel i stayed there it amazing you get 12 foot wide beds and the best bit free unlimited pick and mix for the duration of your stay !!

I find the best thing to do in turkey is to book a shared airport shuttle. Normally a small coach which will drop you at your hotel possibly making a few stops at other hotels on the way to drop other people off. Tend to be much better drivers, websites like holidaytaxis are good to book them on

This is one of my worrys about travelling to Turkey, the scams are untrue so becareful pal! I don't think I'd of handled it like that, looking forward to watching the vlogs.

Driving in Turkey is is not for the hard fainted. And they use their horns like they are talking to each other. And it feels like there are absolutely no traffic rules. You will feel a lot saver in the coasters over there than on the road. Watch out when you cross the roads by foot over there. Bidding down on prices for the things you buy there is also the thing to do, it’s part of the culture, they actually aspect you to do so. Have fun and enjoy your trip Shawn.

I usually do these days however I didn’t fancy it this trip when I heard about some of the drivers in Turkey!
Been to turkey a couple of times never used a taxi and after what you have said never will. 😁😁😁😄😄😄
Went to Turkey quite a few years ago with my son aged about 14. Used the Dolmus minibuses and the advice I gave my son was not to sit near the front, as no seatbelts, poor driving in very busy Kusadasi city. Had the driver crashed many would have been straight through the front window. Room was v'good value, stay safe.

I went to Antalya for an all inclusive holiday a few years ago and I’m going back this year to another hotel. Always such good weather but we don’t really leave the hotel because there are a few dodgy areas to be mindful of

That taxi ride sounds like the taxis in athens.
We were concerned about being ripped off so used uber. Payed a couple of euros more than a taxi but felt happier knowing the price was set.
there are buses from the airport to the town and there is also a tram. Taxis are not the only option

Hiya, why did the taxi driver say what it was in euros but charged lira? I’m going next week and nervous! Only taking cabin bag and hoping to buy sun cream, shampoo etc there. Is there some kind of discount shop for that sort of thing?

The hotel was very cheap and only 5 mins from the park!
What a nightmare start. You are not the first person I have heard of experiencing dreadful taxi drives. Glad you got there safely in the end! Hotel is pretty good price, it looks clean enough and for anyone on a tight budget its ideal.
It wasn’t great at first but the rest of the trip was awesome!

When I went and got a taxi to my hotel he went through quite a few red lights so I’m glad that we can at least tell the tales haha 😂

Me and our lass being to Antalya took us 4 hours to get to our hotel nothing round the hotel at all beautiful beach tho and if you get the chance visit Alanya stunning to walk around when we went it was 38 Celsius👌🏻 never visited the park hopefully will do eventually; also the drivers across there drive with doors open on the buses and are all over the road good fun 🤣

We went to Antalaya few years ago and stayed in Side. Best holiday we had and it was hot! Do you still need to a visa to get into the country?
No visa was required for this visit!
What a horrorshow of an outward journey! Hope that's the only bit of bad luck you have this year when travelling. At least you got there in one piece and sorted out the scam! Enjoy your day at Land of Legends.
