Thank you so much for all the information. Bamboo has been on my mind gor a while now, I love the way it looks and I'm definitely getting some for my garden in Greece.
Great video! I bought a lot of different types of bamboo in the last couple of years (both clumbing and running) and I have planted in big pods as you. I have a couple of questions: - where can I find the same plastic black pods ? - why I have to repotted my Bamboo after some years ? Can't they stay in the same pod ?
In the US the links to the planters are www.lowes.com/pd/MacCourt-26-in-L-x-26-in-W-Black-High-Density-Polyethylene-Pond-Liner-20-Gallon/999948250 I think they will become so rootbound after a few years they will not do well and will need to be repotted
Look at farm supply stores like TSC. I got this at a place called CO-OP. It is 70 gallons. Anything around 1 foot deep will work for the smaller bamboo varieties but will need to be watered daily in summer. Make sure it won't turn over easy.
Drill 3-4 pencil sized holes one inch from bottom on SIDE of pot on these smaller 20 gallon pots like in 1st part of video. Try to use plastic or cheap disposable type pots as you will need to cut in 3-4 years. Tilt pot up once per year to check if worried.
This bamboo is not picky. You can use almost anything but for fastest growth a quality potting soil like foxfarm. You can also mix in or use soil from your garden if it is decent loam type soil.

Thank you for the reply. Did you drill holes in the trough below? I know you mentioned you drill holes on the smaller ones .
@@Love-is-the-answer Drill holes on the side about 1 inch from bottom about pencil size. A couple holes every few feet is fine.
Beautiful! Where did you get your bamboo? I am in zone 7 in Virginia and I haven't found any here in our area for sale.
I got it at a local bamboo nursery. I googled and saw a place called mid atlantic bamboo in Crewe VA you could try.
@@tntropics Thank you so much!!
If there is drainage at bottom, is there any worry the rhizomes spread through the bottom into the ground? I want bamboo, I just don't want it to run.

What type of soil did you use

I’ll go with the foxfarm… Thanks again for all the informative videos.
