The 650 is very similar to the 500 in terms of riding with a fair bit more power and better sound. You’ll be very familiar with it and that’s not a bad thing because it’s easy to ride and maintain plus great build quality that you take for granted until you ride other bikes. It’s not a Supersports tho but it’s not too far off in terms of the Supersports experience without the hassle of the ergonomics and other stuff. I had many regrets amongst the fun I had owning a Suzuki GSXR600. The CB650R or the CBR650R will be a good compromise if you don’t do track riding all the time. However if you plan to get for track riding or spirited riding only then a proper screaming Supersports is better and more focused in terms of handling and top end power. But you’ll sacrifice a lot of comfort for speed and handling which just makes the bike annoying to live with on a daily basis especially if you commute.
@@RUBBERNMETAL thanks a lot, where I live unfortunately they just sell the cb (no cbr600rr neither the cbr650r) so basically my options are either this cb650r or jump to a fireblade which i would love to (who doesnt LOL) but that is too too much😅 therefore my only option is this cb650r... love the gixxer but that bike is outdated not even abs so not an option for me I am just waiting for January to see what happens if I do the jump 😋😃
@@almin9751 yea the gixxer is outdated won’t be a good daily. Oh about strictly the CB to be honest I miss the clip on handlebars on my old CBR500R I feel it is a bit more engaging. The stock seating position is very upright and relaxing but not that suited for attacking corners. If you enjoy your cbr500 you’ll enjoy the cb650r. I didn’t go for the CBR650R faired version because i felt that on my old CBR500R looked faster than it actually is and this time around I wanted a bike that is faster than it looks. Plus round headlights is always classy and evergreen and I get to save some cash too 😂 If you enjoy your CBR500R you’ll enjoy the CB650R its just a smoother, faster and better sounding big brother.

Another thing, u've mention about the honda oem seat cover, i'm having trouble finding that part in the boon siew web, can you share me your source ?

You're getting the CB650R I'm assuming ya? Get the 2021 model with the improvements. The seat cowl is not a cover that goes on top, it's a unit on its own. You have to take the rear seat off and replace it with the cowl. Honda Big Wing does sell it for RM500 I think but I've never seen it listed in the accessories catalogue. I bought mine from Lazada anyways for around RM120 I think. I'll share the link soon.

Oof it’s really overdue. I really want to and tbh I have the videos but just haven’t got the time to do editing with family and work being prioritised now. Even sliders are different and I’ve solved the vibration from handlebars from taking the inserts out.
@@NTDang no problem. Atm trying to figure out if it’s possible to create quality content on mobile rather than using the laptop. Let’s see how that goes.
Buy what you think suits you more. The z900 is a very powerful bike nothings wrong with it. For me the design of the CB won my heart despite the big sacrifice in power.
You should get and when you do I hope you can invest in the proper parts for the bike. I only went Ali express on non critical and non performance related parts btw.
You’re right… maybe not ‘vanilla’ otherwise I wouldn’t still love it. but compared to an air cooled Italian v twin which at that time was my other bike it was a bit more composed. Yes it’s hard to find a bike at this price point with the right proportions and design.
None of the fake accessories I put on the bike affect mechanical performance. The only fake ones I put on are windscreen and seat cowl the rest are just brandless. For those two fake items my local dealer did not carry them and the shipping cost from overseas for the original items to my country plus import tax will be more than the cost of the product itself. Would you still buy original given the circumstances?
@@RUBBERNMETAL I wouldn’t buy it coz I would just use the original that came with the bike. Especially the bar end mirrors. If I couldn’t get originals or branded, I wouldn’t try alibaba coz like you said in the video, vibrations will be felt more and alibaba has a lot of fake stuff I tried before and got burn. Never again. Don’t get me wrong, I like watching your videos. Just that CB650R is really a nice bike and those fake accessories doesn’t do the bike justice. Just my 2 cents. Cheers for the reply though.
No problem mate appreciate your thoughts on it. The vibration from the bar end mirrors only exists because the bar inserts has been taken out. There’s some owners who have pushed the bar inserts further in which helps with vibration instead. So will try that. About stuff from Ali express not all are bad quality, general rule of thumb is not to get the cheapest and always look for buyer reviews. The bar end mirrors I have on mine are quite decent quality, not flimsy and it doesn’t seem like it’s cheaply made (so far). There’s no specific brand but here’s a link to the local seller where I live. I’ve seen it on Ali express before but haven’t been able to find them again since.

Hello friend, nice video. Is body sliders better than an engine crash guard?
Hi there thanks for your comment. They kind of serve different purposes I believe. I changed over both sliders and engine cover now btw.
Hi could tou give me the référence of your ends bar mirrors please thanks
Lolo from France
Shopee should damn near sponsor your build after this video man.. dunno if I would trust a Shopee slider - they are not made of composites that will react the good ways to impact and high-speed drag.
those diy tank pad, i think you can found screen protector alike thing (i saw some taiwanese do that), those dot i can't haha
What is the small display on the left side of the handel bar
Hi. It’s the screen for my action camera.
Awesome review...keep it up bro
Thanks for the support bro! Really appreciate it
can you put the link of the sliders?
Sure here you go. I tried finding one on Ali express but I can’t seem to find it again. Here’s a link from a local seller where I live.

I currently own a cbr500 and waiting for the 2021 cbs to get here.
I see you owned a Cbr500r so any comments comparing it to this cb650r?
Plus round headlights is always classy and evergreen and I get to save some cash too 😂
If you enjoy your CBR500R you’ll enjoy the CB650R its just a smoother, faster and better sounding big brother.
Well… do we have part 2?
We do it’s super overdue! I have everything ready just need to edit it man.
Hi bro, may i know where you buy the dvr? Nice video you got anyway👍🏻
Hi bro thanks for the comment. I got mine from the Sony store in Mid Valley megamall a few years ago.
@@RUBBERNMETAL Hi morning bro! May i know wat model from Sony you got? Wonder can buy thru online..
@@adrianlee7802 morning bro. Sure it’s the HDR AS300. There’s the 4K higher spec model X3000 they look identical. If you want to use it for bike action cam you need an external mic (doesn’t have to be expensive) for it as the original mic picks up too much wind noise above 30kmh. Oh and don’t forget to get the lens protector as well to protect the lens (i paid RM200 just for that damn thing 😬).
@@RUBBERNMETAL Oh thanks for your infos bro! Anyway, i checked online is it come with video action cam? Price around rm13xx and where do you put your cam?
@@adrianlee7802 no problem bro yea it’s both action camera and screen display connected by Bluetooth. Most of the time I stick it on the side of my helmet but you can also put it on a chest mount or on the bike as well. You plan to buy it for vlogging? The price should be lower now I bought it around. RM1250 which was 2 years ago.
tq for your infrmation...great...tq2
No problem glad you enjoyed it!
Hi there, i'm new to this and i have a question, how can i lower the front fork?
Hi there. You can lower the front fork at the clamp. I’ve seen a few examples lowered by an inch. No plans on lowering mine yet so idk what the difference is myself.
What is the small screen on the handlebar for?
That is the display and control for my action camera
Good info.. 👍👍👍
Thank you bro!
Great video! Do you wanna link the tail tidy if you have the link?
Thanks buddy. Here you go.

wich mirrors do you have on your bike?
I been looking for the original tail for so long
Original as in… stock? Or original R&G/Evotech aftermarket?
@Rubber N Metal trying to look for a stock oem one.
@@dkmv29able what happened to yours? It’s probably the first thing most owners got rid of.
@Rubber N Metal whoever had the bike before I did. Did not buy a fender delete he just cut the oem one and did a bad job modify
@@dkmv29able damn that sucks. I’m sure you’ll be able to find one if you search high and low. Most of them are taking storage space in the store room probably.
how much this sharp orange paint ? I love it
Hi buddy which orange paint ya?
Top video, great bike
Thanks man! it is an awesome bike indeed!
So many modifications but you left original exhaust?
I want to enjoy the original spec performance for at least 10,000km before installing a full system exhaust, quickshifter, K&N air filter. Now the bike only has 2,800km so that will be due in another video.
@@RUBBERNMETAL ah ok I take out on my right away because the catalytic its really heavy and its almost touch ground when you lean.....
Bro, just discovered your channel recently, you're way better than other malays motorcycle reviewer if im being honest, lol. I've already gone through almost all your cb n monster vids ! I'm loving both the cb n monster, but i guess i'll have to start with the honda 1st since im still a novice rider n getting my feet into the big boys bike world. Btw, did the single seat cover sits on top of the back passanger seat or do u have to remove it entirely before installing ? Another thing, u've mention about the honda oem seat cover, i'm having trouble finding that part in the boon siew web, can you share me your source ?
Oh man thanks so much that means a lot to me. A lot of hours go into making these videos and learning to use the software - so glad that people find it useful and appreciate it.
@@RUBBERNMETAL yup, definitely getting one for sure ! U have any idea when does the 2021 model release ? Really looking forward to own one of these !
Wow, crazy price dude almost 400 difference in price ! But since it's coming from lazada or shoppe, u're just gonna gamble with the qc of the item itself right ? Lol. Btw thanks for helping me out dude, im gonna watch ur new upload now, keep it 💯
@@muhammadasri765 no idea officially but I think the big wing Facebook page has released some pictures of the 2021 model. Waiting list is around 4 months though so better place your booking early.
Yea I gambled with the quality of the cowl but so far it seems pretty sturdy and the paint is 95% on point matching the tank. They missed a small part but it can only be seen up close.
Haha enjoy the video it’s just a compilation of clips. Btw seller I bought the cowl from no longer sells it but here’s another one I found.

It’s an awesome bike tho but make sure to test the trident first before heard that one is amazing.
Hey, don't mess around with mirrors. I don't like the original mirrors on my CB650R but they can save your life whereas those bar end mirrors don't do anything.
Hey buddy I agree I had these on during lockdown period where traffic wasn’t heavy. As soon as I get to ride the bike regularly in heavy traffic I realised the danger and switched the mirrors to bigger ones but they’re still bar ends tho. Ride safe! Thanks for keeping an eye out for a fellow biker!
Isnt the lcd screen display quite dim?
In bright sunlight yes it can be quite dim, but I’m used to worse displays on other bikes.
Is there a list of li links anywhere
I don’t have a list of it right now. Some of the items are no longer listed for sale last I checked. Which ones are you looking for?
No paddock?
Nah. Still not yet but it’s overdue.
I was like hey this place is familiar. Mana tau it's Taman desa
Yeaaa Taman desa represent!!
Era pra ter colocado os links das coisas compradas .
Can you do an update?
Oof it’s really overdue. I really want to and tbh I have the videos but just haven’t got the time to do editing with family and work being prioritised now.
Even sliders are different and I’ve solved the vibration from handlebars from taking the inserts out.
@@RUBBERNMETAL oehhh i will be patiently waiting then. Thank you for the content it really helps
@@NTDang no problem. Atm trying to figure out if it’s possible to create quality content on mobile rather than using the laptop. Let’s see how that goes.
I’m confused between cb650r and z900…. This will be my first higher cc bike purchase….
Buy what you think suits you more. The z900 is a very powerful bike nothings wrong with it. For me the design of the CB won my heart despite the big sacrifice in power.
can someone sit while cover is there
Theoretically possible it may be very uncomfortable for the passenger. Or… the cowl might break.
I want this bike soo much. Seems a shame to get an high price well made bike and cover it in cheap Ali express parts
You should get and when you do I hope you can invest in the proper parts for the bike. I only went Ali express on non critical and non performance related parts btw.

Vanilla!? Do you know the meaning of the word? It’s the least vanilla bike out there. It’s absolutely beautiful stock.
You’re right… maybe not ‘vanilla’ otherwise I wouldn’t still love it. but compared to an air cooled Italian v twin which at that time was my other bike it was a bit more composed.
Yes it’s hard to find a bike at this price point with the right proportions and design.

Why would you install fake accessories on your bike?
Anyways thanks for the comment again and glad you enjoy some of the content.

Nice effort, too bad you run the risk of getting your bike snatched from you at gunpoint at a traffic light given the country you live in...
Thanks. Altho I don’t think anyone has gotten bike snatched at gunpoint in my country tho. I live in Malaysia btw. Thieves don’t tend to steal big bikes (generally anything more than 250cc) here they just steal the fancy bits like brake calipers and steering dampers. 🤔

You can't ride a motorcycle because of a lockdown? How on earth does riding a bike impact others' health? FFS.
The intention is to prevent cross border traveling to prevent from the virus spreading to other parts of the country. It worked for a while until the borders opened and everyone went on holiday.
No offense, but half of these mods are great and half make the bike look cheap
