Hello Internet!
I am a real-world motorcycle enthusiast who loves sharing the passion of motorcycling through fun and useful content (hopefully) in this channel. I currently own a 2020 Honda CB650R, and I intend to create videos related to the bike throughout my ownership experience.
I also love riding various motorcycles and testing out whatever I could get my hands on, which I will also try my best to share the experience through reviews and impressions. Like many bikers out there, one of the aspects that has drawn me into motorcycles is the sound. I also love to capture sound clips of various bikes out there and post them as part of my content.
Enjoy the content!

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the Honda CB650R both belong to a similar category being the ~650cc entry level big-bike sub 100hp range. Both were built for different types of audiences nevertheless they are both really good value for what they are. Man, sorry to say, but it seems like you don't have the slightest idea of what Ducati is all about. Racing heritage is just a small portion of the whole deal. It is very wrong to buy one if you just expect a Japanese bike, just prettier. As for your video: 1. Side mirrors are something subjective. The same mirrors may be useless to one rider but perfectly fine for another. 2. Turning circle used to be limited in older Ducatis, but this is something you get used to and adapt your riding style. Could be better, yes... but not a deal breaker. 3. Engine heat is more or less untolerable in medium and big bikes when riding in hot countries. I am from Greece and the only bike I 've had zero heat issues was my (very) old Kawasaki KLR 250! 4. Gearing? Well... any mid to large V-2 engine requires some more clutch use when riding that slow. 5. Maintenance cost is really a pain in the ass, but newer Ducatis are vastly improved on that. If you calculate how much the maintenance cost of the newer mid and large Japanese bikes has gone up you will be surprised at how small the difference is. At least here in Europe. Can't speak about the situation in Asia. 6. Theft issues? You Asians are crazy! I 've never ever heard about stealing just the brakes or other bike parts in my country or in Europe generally. When they steal, they take the whole bikes. And in my country, Japanese bikes and BMWs tend to have 100 times more serious theft problems than Ducatis, Triumphs, Moto Guzzis etc. because they are more commercial and are easier to sell as a whole or as spare parts. 7. Traction control? I say fuck this and any other electronic gimmick. They have created a whole generation of incapable and careless riders. Even "rider modes" are useless on a bike with less than 100 hp. The only truly useful thing is ABS... and this just on the front wheel. And this comes who lives in a country with mostly ultra slippery roads. 8. Riding postition? This is subjective too. I personally loved the riding position of my old 1997 Monster 600 and think of every other riding position after that as either too blunt or uncomfortable. - OK... Monsters are perhaps not the best "commuters". But they were not build with that as a priority. The fact that (with some adjustments on your part) it can do that too, it's only a good thing. If you do a lot of kms daily in conditions like the ones you show on a video, then you need perhaps a single-cylinder bike with less than 400 c.c. for commuter.
This was a really helpful breakdown, thank you.
No problem :) let me know what bike you end up buying?
thank you for destroying my concerns totally.
My pleasure! Did you get the bike?
Great video! Letting my Ninja 400 go and getting a CB650R. Love from 🇸🇽
A decent upgrade id say just need to get used to the extra mass
Just installed mine today, what a simple mod can do.
Felt the difference?
@@RUBBERNMETAL yes, more crisp and a bit more solid in each shift.
@@nanoxia9 yes exactly right! Did you get the racetorx or other brand?
@@RUBBERNMETAL I got a more economical one,not sure if it's as good as the racetorx, but will see for a bit how it's work.
Can you do an update?
Oof it’s really overdue. I really want to and tbh I have the videos but just haven’t got the time to do editing with family and work being prioritised now. Even sliders are different and I’ve solved the vibration from handlebars from taking the inserts out.
@@RUBBERNMETAL oehhh i will be patiently waiting then. Thank you for the content it really helps
@@NTDang no problem. Atm trying to figure out if it’s possible to create quality content on mobile rather than using the laptop. Let’s see how that goes.
Nice video!!! Is there a way to jump start these bikes from another battery and booster leads?
Thanks!! I haven’t really explored bump starting or installing booster leads. But I’ve heard plenty that booster leads that you extend to somewhere accessible is useful to jumpstart or charge. There are power banks you can buy now to jump start bikes. Could be worth considering.
Hey bud, I have the same bike and qs. But I have a problem I was hoping you can shed some light on. Basically I have to blip the throttle in order for it to shift up. I see on Hondas website and your videos that I shouldn’t have to blip the throttle. I got my qs from eBay for a good price. And it looks authentic. But I can’t figure out why it’s not cutting fuel when I hit the lever. Let me know what you think thanks
Hey bro hope the previous comment reply helps. Just wondering what’s your way fwd to it?
I resolved the issue. I bought a real qs. I previously bought some eBay crap.
Hey bud I installed one on my cb650r. But I have to blip the throttle to shift up. On Honda’s website it says upshift without clutch or throttle operations. I tried unplugging the negative cable on battery but same issue. I have to blip throttle. Did I get a dummy one ?
Hey bro just saw this comment and you left another one I saw. Sounds like it’s not working and what you’re actually doing is clutchless shifting. Better get it checked out maybe the connection is not properly done or something. The thing about the quickshifter is that it won’t shift if you don’t have any throttle and works better the more throttle you give it.
@@RUBBERNMETAL appreciate the reply. I returned that qs. Some eBay crap I found for cheap. I just bought a real one so should be good. Here’s to hoping
@@ridered6271 good to hear you have the return option and you should get your money back. Don’t give up You should still install a qs it’s one of the best mods for the bike.
650 is as sweet as a nut,we all want more but we never use it..........and more power is less sweet....
I wouldn’t say never use it. Probably 1-2% of the total riding time if ever. Yea I agree the 650 is fast enough but also makes you feel fast af when you open it up.
Can it be installed with the Quick shifter? Do you still get false neutrals with the quick shifter only
Hi there. Sure I have installed both on my bike. They are separate in a way that doesn’t interfere with each other but makes the shifting experience perfect.
@@RUBBERNMETAL Thank you
The new generation Monsters are lighter and way more agile.
The latest gen isn’t really a rumbly monster in the traditional sense. More of a point and shoot bike.
bro, what tank pad are you use??
Tank pad?? Random transparent one I found online. Tank grip? Some grippy dots I bought from a hardware shop
@@RUBBERNMETAL ya tank grip,tat mean u stick it 1 by 1 ?
Just buy a trans support so no more false neutrals from aliexpress simple.
I got the racetorx UK one before the Ali express version existed. Pretty good
i'm owning 796 monster too from Malaysia , use it just for loitering and leisure only , 1 week 1/2 time only , not good to use everyday commute , servicing to expensive haha
But it’s fun to ride man regardless just don’t get stuck at the lights for too long 🔥 where do you service your bike? I plan to get a 821 someday or a 1200s.
@@RUBBERNMETAL i stay in singapore , i did minor desmo 12k milleage at PGM workshop Johor Bahru , they service all superbike and ducati . Less then rm2.2k because got change belting. I prefer go with 1000 cc monster huhu.
@@RUBBERNMETAL yes . If i stuck in jammed at Johor singapore custom immigration, i will switch off engine , i have experienced my clutch lever not working because of temperature high , after 5 ten minutes cool down the bike , then clutch lever work again . 🤷🏻♂️

I guess that’s a good thing? AE86 is a sweet car.
Did you remap the bike after you install the exhaust?
I didn’t actually. Not necessary but it helps if you do to churn out the best from the bike.
I'm about to get the same exhaust, is it true that you don't need to tune the bike after installing it? I've heard that the bike runs lean and you get power loss/long term engine reliability issues. If you actually don't need to tune it I feel like it's the best option hands down.
From several sources I heard that you don’t need to tune the bike after installing this exhaust but it would definitely help bring out the best of the bike if you do.
I would put in clip on bars or at least flip the handlebar upside down and definitely get bar end mirrors that can fold in. My current custom 250cc has very low and very tucked in clip on bars, so much so that my handlebar passes below sedan height mirrors; I've been spoiled by it so it'll be something to get used to once I get my own CB650R. The tank itself isn't actually too wide for low clip ons; it's the air intakes that get in the way; but I don't think there's a way to reposition those.
Hey man. I know what you mean Harley style to have the mirrors below the bars but I feel that by doing that it would take away your focus too much from what’s happening in front of you. As in your peripherals will deviate too much from facing forward it would be dangerous. But to each their own I guess it’s what you’re used to.
Apparently no longer being made for the 650
Do you wear earplugs? I wear earplugs to protect ny ears from wind anyways so it makes me want to remove the db.
In which country you live dude? Nice bike, nice sound
No! Me 😂!
Thanks very much for your video and hello from London. I’m looking to get my first bike this summer after passing my test. I am 6’4 so maybe the 1000r is better fit wise. But I think 650r is more sensible choice.
The gearbox sucks. yes.
These Statements are peanuts. You can actually change the brightness of the screen, so there is really no downside of this bike. Im in love with riding it
i mean hahaha this bike will just fall into gear and out of gear with a slight throttle blip like it was meant to be without the quickshifter.
"I thought that Muslims are not thieves."
I have a 1100 monster Evo in México. I totally agree with your comments. The only difference is that mexicans robers do not bother stealing Brembo brakes nor Ducati bikes (specifically) I guess thefts do not find this bike practical for robbing because all what you pointed out :). However I truly love this bike and i am not planning to change it any time soon. It is not a rational decision, it comes straight from the heart. BTW, the monster Evo comes with traction control with different degrees of intervention.
Why don't they steal it?
@@Aka.Aka. I guess thefts do not find this bike practical for robing. Additionally it is too cumbersome and attracts too much attention, hard to sell, etc
@@Aka.Aka. Stealing its more "organized" in Mexico, they go for mass produced bikes for the black market parts, much easier to sell, besides, they are very rare
Good Video. Good English.
MT-09 is sstraight-up DOWNGRADE in every way on the aesthetic front. Camel-hump tank & "darkside boy" styling just cannot even compete with the Neo-Retro Honda.
The 2024 MT-09 is the best ever. And not everybody likes this grandpa look of the cb650.
I love your energy. My QS finally arrived after 4 months lol. I will try to fit it this weekend. It's the middle of winter here but hopefully it will be sunny enough to go out for a ride this weekend. The roads have been icy though so I will be taking it easy haha.
do you wear ear plugs while riding?
I don’t actually.
Excellent video, thank you!
Great video comparing these two bikes man. I have the cb and was thinking to change it for the mt (because of lots of electronics and more power in lower rpm). But you changed my mind - it’s uglier and unstable. You can improve cb brakes with brembo pads (extreme stoping power). And I’m thinking changing front sprocket one tooth less, so the power is delivered in lower rpm
I’ve got this bike in red with a lot of accessories, didn’t bother with a top box though. Toured Europe on it twice now, once In 2023 and then 2024. Used a Lomo roll bag on the back instead of a top box. Lomo are brilliant used in conjunction with rok straps. I changed the front sprocket 16t for a 17t and that sorted out the short gearing between 1st and 2nd. People say they’d have liked a cruise control but personally I don’t feel one is necessary. Never even use the one on the car. For the price this bike really is exceptional value especially as the build quality is so good. Touring I was doing a lot of miles and mostly very comfortable. The ability to switch between mph and kph and road or rain mode is very good too. I switched of automatic cancellation on the indicators as I felt it was cancelling too soon but that’s just my opinion. All In all it’s a great bike.
This video, and the battery video, helped me get this done with ease. Thanks so much!
I am between a NX500 or a CB650R
They are very different bikes
