Hey man, a fellow Malaysian rider here. I was looking to get a bigger bike and was undecided for the longest time. Your videos helped me decide on the CB650R. @@RUBBERNMETAL I've received my bike yesterday still don't have experience with motorcykles. I wanted to ask about one thing. Took it for a short ride cause I still does not have even licence, passed only theoretical part of the exam and I'm waiting for better weather to finish it. But like I said during yesterday ride I was going around 70 km/h and I started to downshift. I couldn't downshift from 2nd to 1st when my bike was still moving. Is it normal in cb650r or I'm doing something wrong? It was like 5th 4th 3rd 2nd and went to N. After each downshift I let go the clutch obviously but still 1st was available only when the bike copletly stopped and than when kicked it down again I got my first gear.
@@2wheelsPL first gear is generally used to just start moving and usually at low speed you would be in second gear. might be a protection like in cars, you cant shift too much too quick because the revs would go too high.
Well I take it to work on most days yea. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect as perfect would be a scooter or an adventure bike with better suspension. but if you want a sports bike to ride to work this bike works. On long rides more than an hour.. nahhhh haha it wouldn’t be my pick. Doesn’t mean you can’t but there are many other bikes that do it better.
Thanks glad you enjoy the video. Did you order the carbon tip or the normal one? I didn’t get a tune for the exhaust it’s not needed according to akrapovic.
With the added power and reduced weight, it works out to about 7% power to weight ratio increase. That is including the weight of the rider. If the rider was 75kg then the increase would be 7% and if the rider was 110kg then the increase would be 6.8%. That's a pretty nice increase and reduces weight means slightly more nimble handling and then you also get the better sound from the exhaust so it's a win-win-win. Initially when I got my CB650R I thought the stock exhaust sounded pretty good and it does, but I still can't stop wondering about the Akrapovic exhaust. It sounds so cool and a lot more bassy. Makes the bike sound a lot more formidable and like a "big bike". Do you think it is worth the cost?
Wow you really did your calculations, thanks for sharing and that makes me feel better about my purchase. I definitely think its worthwhile you get more visceral feel with the sound even with the baffles in (my personal preference). Power wise its not a huge gain if thats what youre after but probably better performance if you get the performance air filter and a retune to get rid of the torque dip.
@ Haha I’m an engineer so calculations are my thing! Maybe I’ll get the Akrapovic exhaust one day but not yet. I’ve got two new tyres going on today (Metzeler Roadtec 02) so that will be nice and I installed a G2 Ergonomics throttle tube with 10% quicker cam a few days ago which is a really nice upgrade along with some Domino A350 grips. Slowly tweaking it to suit my needs. That pop on upshift does sound good with the Akra so I might have to start saving for that.

Hey buddy nice bike haha. Light as in spot lights? I don’t plan to install any on this bike unfortunately, the authorities can get quite strict on lights when they want to. Weird…
My main camera is a Sony hdr as300 which is an old camera but it does have a floating lens which gives the video stability. Sony don’t make them anymore.
So far I’ve only been through a few roadblocks where I clutch in to avoid suspicion and so far I never got checked. No tuning needed but it is recommended probably that you do. I prefer to keep it stock so no tuning done on mine.

Thanks! Just got mine on order and planning on doing it myself. Did you have to get some kind of tune or did the CEL came on? I heard from some the CEL might come on due to the O2 sensors after installation without the cat.
Hmm did I do that… my bad. Police are pretty lenient with speed limits unless it’s obviously in a busy neighbourhood or they’re doing a roadblock or something.
i guess with akra full system and likelyhood of performance air filter, when u going to do a remap, do share the difference, if any. i dont think will see great deal increase in hp/torque, more like daily riding smoothness, if any.
I haven’t found a tuner I trust yet for the remap but I would like to feel the proper tune tho. It’s also my daily so I’d rather keep it stock engine wise. Had a remapped gsxr before this which did around 10-15km/l in terms of fuel consumption. Not ideal.
Haha I can’t help you with that. Maybe paint the db killer black? Personally I prefer old school exhaust that extends to the side hanger but akrapovic doesn’t make that specific type for the cb/cbr650.
