I love slipknot, got em on my playlists n all (eyeless is the best). But sorry guys, Corey don't got bars. I had to hold back laughter watching "CMFT Must Be Stopped", "Spit It Out" is meh (love the chorus though)
As a metal head And hip hop head I think this is a poor introduction for somebody who’s relatively new to the genre, I’d recommend duality and spit it out, it’s got a hip hop feel the way Corey Taylor delivers his lyrics, also “the devil in I” is a better display of corey’s vocals as far as his time with slipknot goes. I’d also recommend the song he did with Tech N9ne “wither”
@chicken tenders I’m not an elitist by any means but I cannot stand Metallica and never could. I don’t knock them and I do respect them but there are better bands out there.
I think we should recommend him some, like, early Deftones, more Rage Against the Machine, some of the more lyrical, melodic Slipknot stuff, maybe? Maybe, like, Spit it out With lyrics? Probably not the live version, but, maybe the old, recorded version. Perhaps even some of the more melodic Tool stuff would really be good.
Steve it's great your diving into other genres, a tip would be to have the lyrics up on the side and read them while you react so you know what they are talking about, will make more sence to you. Metal music has great lyrics just like rap, it's buried under the surface is all, please do that next time, sick reactions brother all the way from scotland/sweden
Wait till he finds out that there's 9 fantastic musicians in that band, and the singer's one of the best male vocalists in all of rock. S T E V I E E M B R A C E T H E G R I M E
It’s changed so much over the years too. He ruined his voice after IOWA Actually took vocal coaching once he recovered Then quit smoking Each time you can hear his voice change quite obviously
Now imagine seeing tech N9ne performing right before them at a Knotfest music festival, cause I seen that, twice!! And tech killed it with a metal crowd as the only hip hop artist on the line up
been waiting for you to delve into this genre for a long time... thought you would have had a lot more to say about it considering it was your first listen...
YESSS. The lead singer is Corey Taylor and he has one of the widest vocal ranges in the game, fantastic singer. I'm a metal and lyrical rap head so this is dope to see you do man. Lyrics help alot with metal for the next time though lol. BTW man he did a song only few months back with Kid Bookie and Tech N9ne
They do have whole songs where he sticks in the "smooth" vocal range. Snuff and Dead Memories, or Through Glass and Hesitate by his other band Stone Sour. There's something to be said for the rage of their more gritty songs, though. Sometimes you just want something to resonate with the anger inside.
When you're new to metal, which has heavier vocals and screaming, I'd recommend having the lyrics pulled up. It takes a bit for your mind to get used to the sound if you're not used to it.
Good stuff Stevie!! Great that you are open to checking out stuff you would never normally listen to. As a metal fan it's always interesting to see people who never listen to metal react to it. Will click on every metal reaction you do for sure!!
Stevie, you have to react to some TooL, their shit is absolutely amazing! Songs like Pushit, Aenima, Lateralus, the Patient, Pneuma, etc. Honestly, all their songs hit hard. Think youd love em bro haha
The lead singer is Corey Taylor and he's on a Tech Ni9e song "Wither" and Tech is on his song "CMFT Must be Stopped." Also he's did an amazing cover of "Purple Rain" after Prince passed away. "Snuff" is another of their songs that shows of his pipes.
I'd always recommend lyric videos to newbies to metal music. Makes it easier to understand obviously and can make it more enjoyable as a result. When you can read along you can hear it - until you become accustomed to the style, it's far easier.
I love the rap break-downs you do Steve !this is a cool switch up, I know it’s a long shot, but if you could break down a TooL song it would be interesting, they always have deep messages and overall a unique style, if you will, I recommend -The Pot (Level 1 kinda) -H (Level 2) -Rosetta Stoned (Level WTF is going on) Keep up the quality coming 🙏🏻
As your fan since "music to be murdered by" I really like you reacting to this cause this is my favorite genre and slipknot has been my favorite for awhile now. Been out for almost 30 years and still going strong. Thank you for trying out other music and I hope you can find a way to like it more and add more to your channel
It should be a crime that Stevie hasn't heard anything from Killswitch Engage. How has nobody recommended them? Would love for him to listen to Rose of Sharyn or The end of Heartache.
The first time I read the lyrics to Psychosocial, I thought I had the wrong song, lol. They are actually quite impressive. I can't name many songs that use words like "effusive," "venomous," "insipid," or "sacrosanct." The general vibe is that he's tired of the corruption he sees in humanity. He calls out the US government/military explicitly with at least two separate lines. The first is "Go drill your deserts / go dig your graves / then fill your mouth / with all the money you will save," referencing the Iraq war, which was notoriously fabricated in order to seize oil resources under the desert. The second is "Fake anti-fascist lie / I tried to tell you but / your purple hearts are giving out / Can't stop a killing idea / if it's hunting season," which again references the Iraq war (which was spun to sound like we were saving them from a fascist regime) and the lack of empathy from those who would hunt down innocents for profit.
The lead singer actually started a band after slipknot broke up called Stone Sour and I think you’d like their music more. It’s still rock but more mellow and boppy
Slipknot is 🔥! I have seen them live many times. They are just so phenomenal to their fans and audience on their shows!! I am a huge Slipknot fan, and i have been a fan for years!! 👌🏼 So cool that you reacted to this!
He doesn't know that Corey Taylor *actually* has bars yet.
Spit It Out??? Fast bars.
@@matthewmora5071 Has to be live though!!!!!
I love slipknot, got em on my playlists n all (eyeless is the best).
But sorry guys, Corey don't got bars. I had to hold back laughter watching "CMFT Must Be Stopped", "Spit It Out" is meh (love the chorus though)
@@matthewmora5071 by time I set this record straight!
He's not readyyyy
As a metal head And hip hop head I think this is a poor introduction for somebody who’s relatively new to the genre, I’d recommend duality and spit it out, it’s got a hip hop feel the way Corey Taylor delivers his lyrics, also “the devil in I” is a better display of corey’s vocals as far as his time with slipknot goes. I’d also recommend the song he did with Tech N9ne “wither”
Yeah this was not a good introduction for a hip hop head. Even snuff would have been better.
Mmm. Damn good suggestions right here.
He'd probably like snuff
The Devil in I is ethereal to me.
@chicken tenders I’m not an elitist by any means but I cannot stand Metallica and never could. I don’t knock them and I do respect them but there are better bands out there.
He'll trip if he finds out this is the lead singer of Stoned Sour
Might not know that band either
When Patreon let's him know Corey is on Wither with Tech though? C'mon now..
Doubt he knows who that is
He'll freak even more when he finds out he's branch in trolls
S T O N E D Sour
Should of started with either dead memories, before I forget or duality. Those are great songs with balance for beginners
I would also suggest eyeless. Cory spitting on that one too.
@@drageonmusic6421 that shit would scare Stevie lol
100 percent!!!!
Duality is GOATED
Wait n bleed is cool
Yoooooo I never thought I'd see Stevie's head bob to slipknot 🤣
Came looking for this. I knew I wasn't time only one
😂😂
Growling and screaming at first can not be "for you" but the more you hear it and understand it the more you appreciate it as being a wind instrument.
Damn what a good point. Wind instrument! Never thought of it that way
The singer is corey taylor, from tech 9 reaction you have done. He sings more in stone sour though. You should check out snuff by slipknot.
Snuff is a dope recommendation, I would sprinkle some Dead Memories and a Vermillion pt.2 on top and those reactions would be amazing.
"OMG SNUFF!!!!! YES!!!!
He should ease into rock with some LP+Jay Z Collaborations!
That would be dope. I think Stevie would appreciate TOOL.
LOL
i'd be here for that for sure
Whats up early crowd. I kinda hope stevie gets on a nu metal thing. That be cool every now and then.
@@Kablizzy right? I mean at least give mans the tour of that angst from the early thousands.
Imagine a reaction to mudvayne 🤣
@@miccyd7392 world so cold would give stevie a stroke
Brother needs to look at some of that korn stuff 🔥
If you’re liking the singing in the chorus, try out “stone sour - through the glass”
This right here

I can't stand corys soft shit. just cant do stone sour lol
Agree with this so much.

Top 3 Slipknot recommendations:

"Duality" and "spit it out" by slipknot. :)
How can you say its not for you when you smiling and headbanging to the song LOL DENIAL
his voice is pretty special. i've heared he doesn't use enhancements apart from reverb and layering.
It’s changed so much over the years too.
He ruined his voice after IOWA
Actually took vocal coaching once he recovered
Then quit smoking
Each time you can hear his voice change quite obviously
When i see stevie react to slipknot , i watch 😎
Slipknot - Spit it out (live at download 2009)!!!
Yoooo I ain't expect this ! 🔥🔥🔥 Love Slipknot !
I was just about to say should have started with dead memories
Now imagine seeing tech N9ne performing right before them at a Knotfest music festival, cause I seen that, twice!! And tech killed it with a metal crowd as the only hip hop artist on the line up
Because Tech is metal af.

“Spit it out” by them should’ve been the first reaction since it’s more of a rap
Slipknot Spit It out LIVE at Download 2009
Im enjoying the metal reactions, i would love to see more
When you're new to metal, which has heavier vocals and screaming, I'd recommend having the lyrics pulled up. It takes a bit for your mind to get used to the sound if you're not used to it.
You definitely should do "Duality" or "Spit It Out"
Broke my ankle and two fingers in a Slipknot pit and it was worth it!! Can’t wait to see them again
Spit it out live at download is the way to go!
When you reacted to cmft cant be stopped featuring tech this is that dude, the one and only Corey Taylor
Korn - freak on a leash
Slipknot - duality
Slipknot- the devil in i
Y'all trippin u should've let him react first to snuff, dead memories or sulfur etc. 🤣
React to Lamb Of God - Laid to rest, it's hype AF. A true heavy metal classic.
Psychosocial and The Devil in I are my favorite 🤘🏼
I'm going to watch this so many times LOL. My Ultimate bar breaker for my rap music? That's f****** awesome. Listen to everything brother
When you react to Slipknot (until you hear a bit more) do lyrics. I wish more people would suggest that... 🔥
3:30 Stevie: "Buddy can sing a little bit"
Me: "I guess you haven't heard Stone Sour yet"
Screaming in metal is like with listening to em in a sense... you gotta get that ear for it to really understand the message and emotion behind it.✌🏻🔥
Good stuff Stevie!! Great that you are open to checking out stuff you would never normally listen to. As a metal fan it's always interesting to see people who never listen to metal react to it. Will click on every metal reaction you do for sure!!
Spit it out would probably be far more your vibe from them. Still aggressive, but in a different way. Think you'd dig it.
Hell yeah they are still popping Stevie. Their latest album which was released 2019 August top the almost every charts out there.
I saw Slipknot in January 2020, last concert I was at before Covid, unbelievable show to attend
