David Nash has been known to pull this on contractors, including myself, for years. He owes you money and tells you his dad is a lawyer so just try to sue him. Unfortunately, after your own lawyer fees, it's not worth pursuing, and he knows it and uses it since his daddy is his lawyer. Him and his father should lose their license in Michigan as far as I am concerned, a real POS.

I've been a builder for 40 years, and even to this day I'm extremely nervous and cautious when I have to ask for a LEGITIMATE overage, and I often "eat" it just to avoid any confrontation. Also, when I see something coming that will add to the price, I always notify the customer and get it documented and approved in advance. In my opinion, Dave needs to be charged with extortion and let the courts sort it out. It's a mystery to me how guys like this manage to stay in business because word travels fast in small town America, or at least it used to.

They give donations to the police department, to schools, and even volunteer their time and money to school programs. It's why he said he was coaching basketball. He's probably not good at basketball but the school wants his contributions.
