Hey thanks Shane! I appreciate you posting. Yes, I remember I first heard of this band from a story in a guitar magazine called, as you said: "Sons Of Sabbath". It had stories on newer bands: The Sword, Priestess, Wolfmother; etc. I really liked this Age of Winters album and the Gods of The Earth album rocks too. And this song floored me when I first heard it. Now, the singer/guitarist J.D. Cronise cut his hair, looks like Randy Marsh from South Park. And they have been on hiatus for a while so who knows if he wants to keep doing this. No worries Shane. I go through storms also man, so I can relate. Take care bro.
Love THE SWORD and lucky enough to have seen them plenty of times throughout the years considering they're from Austin, TX. My favorite release would have to be their first one named GODS OF THE EARTH. Here are some bands in the genre you may like: Electric Wizard, Earthless, Windhand, Monolord, Dead Meadow, Freedom Hawk, Eagle Claw, High On Fire, Dopethrone ... I guess that's a start!!
Nobody seems to have suggested another The Sword song, their big hit is Freya. That song rips. Otherwise, another favorite of mine is How Heavy This Axe. Personally, I like the studio vocals more than the live with The Sword, so go with that if you can. Love the vids brotha

Considering they just released a new album Conquest of Kingdoms, I'd say they're still doing this.
Seen the Sword open for Clutch a few times & was decently surprised & impressed
The Sword lost their way and faded into the shadows with their last few albums. The first four are phenomenal.
Hells yeah, Start from the beginning, all their stuff is great !
Excellent song and album!
Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite bands. They are so underrated and overlooked.
The sword the maiden, the mother, the crone! Great song. Great band. Love the channel
the sword tres brujas was my introduction to the band. Great song!
Def agree with the "Sons of Sabbath" moniker! Also I dig the song \,,/,

Love the songs Freya, Winter Wolves and Maiden, Mother & Crone, early The Sword is awesome.
I think Freya was the song I would play on Guitar Hero!
I got a contact buzz from this review. 🤘
Nice behemoth shirt!
Dude this band is so epic I wish they kept making this type of stuff it’s like a sludgy inspired Metallica ish sound not the vocals obviously lol
