I'm almost 2 months into my weight loss journey and been documenting my results daily. What I'm extremely happy about it is that I always go with what's comfortable for me. Now I'm able to implement so many strategies, with weight-lifting, calorie counting and eating at a calorie deficit being the core of it all. I'm now down from 289.7 lbs now at 269.6. Sustainability and consistency is key among other things.
@@APDFitnessWellness seeing and feeling the progress has always been one of the main things that motivate me, that plus my wife going with me to the gym as well. No greater feeling than both of you wanting to be a better version of yourselves.
I started working out this January. I was 220 at 5 foot 9 and I was getting really heavy. I started randomly working out without a diet plan and I hit a wall in July. Thanks to videos like yours and others I’m at 156 right now and have complete self control on what I eat. I just wanted to thank you for teaching me many things about dieting and nutrition along with enjoying some treats and cheat meals here and there!
Your videos are so chill and refreshing. I’ve managed to drop like 10-15 pounds this year. Slowly but def feels like I’m a stride of keeping it off for good!
Hi Eric, i love watching your videos every week. You provide such valuable information!!! I am a type 2 diabetic. Can i lose fat in a calorie deficit eating a moderate amount of carbohydrates, even though I am a diabetic and insulin resistant? Can you talk a little bit more about insulin and its role when it comes to burning fat. The reason I bring this up is because I heard from many experts on youtube that its impossible to lose fat if your insulin levels are high or if you are insulin resistant and consome carbohydrates. I woud really love to hear your input on this. Thank you so much! Emily
Carnivores don’t restrict calories. Meat with the fat is actually going to be higher calorie. The point is to get comfortably full (and protein is more satiating). But we know most people don’t eat because they’re hungry, they eat because it’s there. Have you done a video on the GLP-1 meds? It seems like such a miracle drug for so many. I’m not a proponent, but then I only want to lose 20-25 lbs.
Question: Because I 100% agree with you on Point #4. In that context, would you recommend someone overshoot their weight loss goal to compensate for those fluctuations? Say if person wanted to lose 20 lbs, should they then actually try to lose 25-30 lbs in order to be able to maintain a range thats always near their overall goal? Thanks and love the videos 👍🏾
Im 5 foot 8 205 pounds. . The calculator said 2000 cal. Im starving at 2300 cal. Walk 10000-12000 steps a day and lift full body 3 times a week. Hunger control is the key. Seems like peoples hunger hormones are very different.
Please make a video for growing thighs and glutes and also losing belly fat and getting a smaller waist at the same time. I will be consistent even if it takes years.
I'm on my 2nd round of calorie deficit. I've always been 130 -135 lbs (I'm 137lbs now, i lift weights) my whole adult hood. After children everything turned haywire. I'm short (5'3") so a 10-15 lbs gain weight is unacceptable too me. It is noticeable. I'll look obese. It's a huge no go for me. I despise loosing weight. So this time I'm going slow and know now that people around me can eat alot but I will not. I can't. Losing weight as a short person is tricky and our mental state needs to be on point. It's so hard to lose its kind of sad. 😢
Don't lose too much weight if you are short. I have to only lose 20 to 25 pounds.. I'm 5'3, female. Walk an hour a day, work out... That'll increase your maintainance calories.
You're absolute right, the mind games are real. If you lose a little bit of weight at a time, it's simple to keep it healthy and sustainable. Taking little breaks and maintaining your new lower bodyweight prevents you from going crazy. It takes longer this way but you're far more likely to keep your weight off. Best of luck to you.
@@sushreeswain1554 Yeah, that's good advice. Step tracking is a good way to track activity. 10 - 12 thousand steps a day is probably about an hour of walking for most people. Good advice. 👍
I'm 5 months into my weight loss endeavor. Started in July just started exercising more. Then by the next month I was counting the calories I ate and slowly began cutting things off and sticking to a 2k at first now I try to reach 1.5k oress calories a day. I weigh myself everyday sometimes multiple times a day. I have lost about 50 pounds. However in October I have noticed multiple plateaus I've went up and down currently trending up feeling shitty because of it. I'm trying not to let it bug me I'm not going to quit or give up I know if I keep going it'll be fine. My initial goal was to lose 44 pounds by the end of the year I did I'm happy even though over the course of the past 5 days with thanksgiving I went from 392-399 annoying. I want to lose 100 next year but I'm slowly realizing that may not be possible I may adjust to 50 lbs hopefully. I lift weights 4 times a week just increased the weight again of my dumbbells. I do squats. I do cardio on the treadmill the same 4 times a week 3 miles a day over 7k steps. When I started I could barely do 15 minutes now I do over an hour. I feel better everything is easier in my life now but I'm still just seething when everyday I don't see the number go down but I know it can't everyday.
If you can personally sustain it, go for it. But in the long run you will be gaining weight in a very super duper slowly way because you’ll be in a calorie surplus. And I’m assuming 2500cal is your maintenance.
@sushreeswain1554 1500? Nice, you must eat a lot of protein? I was on a strict 2000 calorie intake a couple years ago and I got very lean, even excluded cheat days. Now I'm starting to include them in my 2500 regiment. Come spring I'll cut back to 2000 again.
@TMCFitnessAndRecovery I'm 5'3 and a girl... I eat around 50g protein. I'm 54kg(around 120 pounds)... I'm thinking of increasing the intake slowly to around 60 to 65g
@@sushreeswain1554 Oh ok. More protein wouldn't be bad for any of us. My recommended protein intake is roughly 200g, but that's difficult some days and sticking to 2500 calories
