    There are a ton of variations for a LEGO sawtooth. I call this particular one LEGO Sawtooth 16-8-2: 16 segments (or teeth) that are 8 studs long and 2 studs high. I've got another variation in the works for a YT short.

    That creaking sound of the bricks being bent into a circle is just like the 70s sound of single 2 x 4 bricks being used normally. Vintage bricks creak like old knees🤔😂

    Okay, this one got me, you fiend. When you connected the two final long pieces one half of my brain kinda knew they were all you were going to use, but the other half of my brain was adamant that there was NO WAY they would bend all the way round like that, even after watching a gajillion of these builds now.
    I found myself legitimately gritting my teeth when the creaking started, and in the darkest corners of my mind it still echoes even now. 😬

    The reflections of the light on the different faces as it rolled was so gorgeous, all the slightly different angles flashing at slightly different times made it shimmer. Have you ever made a sculpture specifically to play with the reflective property of the lego?

    • @BrickBending
      @BrickBending  2 года назад +24

      Not specifically, but that's a beautiful idea. Every large build I've made--once it's put under any kind of exhibition lighting--reflects and shimmers in an amazing way, and ultimately it depends on where the viewer stands that determines the final effect. The largest build I've ever created was 10 square meters and had more than a dozen overhead light sources within an enclosed space. I spent hours and hours trying to coordinate the lights to make for the best aesthetic. What's really crazy is that in that kind environment you get both light reflection and depth of shadow within the build. It's an artistic world all its own. : )

    I’m intrigued as to how you work out how small a circle you can make, is it trial and error or is there some degree that you know certain joints can bend and then you just do the maths?

      I have a rule of thumb of roughly 100 studs in a normal circle. I can push that down if I need to but the risk of cracking a brick goes up. With this I did a rough calculation in my head and guess at 16 segments--which worked, and was a nice number for the way I film.

    I think the coolest part of this was how, starting at 1:37, the light reflecting off of the outside of the circle around the outside 10 'o clock position and around the inside 4 'o clock position highlighted all of the yellow 1 x 2 bricks as the circle rolled. Your builds are awesome! I also find myself cringing a bit as I'm just certain it's going to explode before you get it connected into a circle... But it never does. Haha!
