After living in Singapore for a year, there are a lot of people like this, including expats who treat Helpers poorly, even against their own standards of working and living from the West. While there are many wonderful people too, this mindset ruined my experience.
Watching this as I'm folding laundry, with a load in the washer, I gotta take a damn shower still, and I have work coming up in 3 hours. This is what I needed to hear. Thanks Bourdain, I hope you have found peace.
Putting things into 2 different machines is not really doing laundry. You're as reliant on it as people are on other people. Majority of the world don't have tumble dryers. Majority of the world are not Anthony Bourdain. They have young kids to care for and full-time jobs, or two or 3. So they need help.

Same sir, i hate thinking about doing laundry, but when my favorite shirt is in the dryer all clean and im taking it out i get this instant satisfaction and relief 😮💨 just like with cleaning it's bothersome but when you see the results you LOVE it!
The best part to me is that they CLEARLY felt self important because they were on CNN with a celebrity and just assumed he would agree with them, nope!

Even if I could afford to hire help I would treat them with the UTMOST respect and dignity they deserve and I would give them weekends off like “ hey thanks for all your hard work this week have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday” but not these entitled assholes they just take advantage of EVERYONE
Ahahh. 😂 I wash my husbands clothes, iron clothes, vacuum and shampoo the carpet, I enjoy grocery shopping, I enjoy playing with my kids, water my plants, feeds and buy food for my 3 pets, make doctor appointments for kids, work 8 hour shift as analyst and study at nightm I still do this although I can afford to pay for maid coming to my house. Husband makes decent money. I enjoy doing this things ...
