Who would think that one day an unknown Chef, Drug Addict and Wonderer would captivate the World by his wit and special talent to relay experiences of life and travel. Tony was the best storyteller in the world of Traveling.
I had the opportunity to drink a glass of Pappy 23 at my uncle's house on Christmas eve a few years ago. He waited until everyone else left and it was only him, my dad and me. They poured me a glass with 1 large ice cube inside. They taught me the "Kentucky chew". To smell it first then take a drink and hold it on your tongue. It was the best whiskey I've ever had! My dad also had a few bottles of Old Rip Van Winkle 12 year at his house we drank a few times.
I have had the privilege to meet a lot of people in the industry, and many of whom will have a whiskey on the rocks. Some exclusively and for others often just as an occasion. Drink the way you enjoy drinking and don’t be influenced by someone else’s assumptions about the joy you are having from that experience
Drinking really good whiskey when itsmade by talented still masters Is almost a sacred experience because it represents the still masters highest art. On March 9 for my birthday, I decided to find out what the attraction was with whiskey as I had never drink any before. I drank a bottle of Weller Antique it was a unusual experience Because up till then, I had never drank Any whiskey before except a swig of Jack Daniels when I was in high school, which was not very pleasant. I was very lucky in my choice of bourbon because I find myself with a powerful desire to drink it again. I could almost say it was an experience like no other.
That's not a good universal rule. Someone could be drinking something in a certain way and could be missing out on a better experience. So here is one way to try out.
Exactly. I love whiskey...but I enjoy it better on the rocks. If my enjoyment is enhanced by drinking whiskey on the rocks....why should I drink it neat?
MICHAEL M ...My neighbor drank lots of cheap Tanduay Filipino rum...his kidneys and liver stopped working...killed him deader than a door nail. He never knew what hit him and then kablooey. Romanticizing alcohol is a sick thing to do IMO. It doesn't need a parade to tempt people to their destruction.
Leibi83 If the Irish and Scots have any competition apart from silly football games its Whiskey, i hate to say it but i think the Scots have better variety.
Personally, i don't think much of it..... i find it pretty weak and lacking in complexity! I much prefer Islay or Island single malt Whiskies! They seem to be more robust and more complex.... there seems to be more of an artisan approach to them! i'd recommend you spend your cash treating yourself to something from, Ardbeg, Laphroig, Bruichladdich, Lagavulin, Caol Isla or Bunnahabhain (all Islay whiskies), Talisker (from the Isle of Skye) or Highland Park (from Orkney)! As for the comment about Irish and Scotch whisk(e)y........ my views (as an Irish man) is that they are 2 entirely different beasts! Irish is smoother (due to the triple distilling process) and is unpeated (except for the Connemara, a great single malt)! If i were to recommend a good Irish whiskey, i'd suggest Redbreast or Green spot (both pot stilled whiskey) or Bushmill's 16 year old single malt! Whatever you pick yourself for christmas, I wish you the best of health to enjoy it!
The Balvenie 21 is my favorite scotch. I like rye, bourbon, slightly smoky scotches, etc., but The Balvenie 21 PortWood is my favorite. Just make sure you say THE Balvenie (unlike the interviewer).
Haha, i was drinking whiskey tonight, my friend works in an off liscense, he got a bottle of Jameson Black barrel for half price, im not a fan of the usual Jameson but this stuff was great. Love to try the Belvanie though and ive heard of another called Glendidditch. ?
Dave I'M a writer, I'm leaving this comment to commend you on one of the most syntactically balanced triad of phrases I've seen on YT. Good job boss.👍👍👍
Really? The title is "How to drink Whisky like Anthony Bourdain" not "Anthony Bourdain is going to teach you how to drink Whisky." In the first part of the video Anthony describes how he likes to drink it. That is all!
An OK interview. It is potluck video not discussion with Ralfy. She knows he a cook, so tried to relate to that. He is here to plug his latest venture.
Irish Whiskey is aged in bourbon, rum or fortified wine barrels, scotch is now primarily aged in bourbon but to say there would be no whiskey with out bourbon is insane since it was invented in Ireland (some say Scotland) before westerners ever set foot in Kentucky.
So im doing it right.... but on a side note she has a really cool personality. kind of a smart ass. shes like a bro. gotta try whiskey with game though. i bet some roast pig. oh brah
I don't see any "drinking" part , is it too much to ask?. it was wrong from the beginning to bring a chatty girl like that into this topic. just shut up and drink
Mark Tondi Actually, both spellings are correct. Whisky is primarily a Scottish/Canadian spelling while whiskey is primarily American. Even that is not etched in stone as Kentucky's Maker's Mark bourbon has their spelling as Whisky on the label. Either spelling works.
Actually, Whisk'E'y is the Irish spelling of it........ before you get all on your high horse, Bushmills in northern ireland is the oldest registered distillery in the World, 1608....... i think that predates America!
Holy cow! She butchered the pronunciation of The Balvenie. Sounds like she thinks it's French or something. I've been told proper is to (more or less) rhyme with "bad penny."
I can’t bear watching people over gesticulate when they talk. Its so annoying and on top of that, this woman’s voice is pretty grating. However, I love Anthony, and he somehow trufges through like s good trooper. He looks a little annoyed too.

Yeah I couldn't believe it when he past away.
We miss you Tony. We all miss you as if we knew you and I know that’s fuckin weird but it’s true.

Balvenie is a good choice. Those are some damn generous pours though. Gonna get wrecked in no time lol
We sure miss him a lot 🙏🙏🙏

I enjoyed this, but always prefer videos with Anthony Bourdain in a flowing conversation rather than an interview format.
Dale Willison... Quite right, he is at his best in conversations that flow. Probably we all are.
Except for me. Anthony Bourdain flows with conversation better than anyone in person. I on the other hand am terrible at conversion flow in person.
I never ever dislike a video...but this deserves it. I literally learned nothing in this video about drinking a whisky properly.
Sorry you feel that way! It's more about his way, but hope you check out some of our other cocktail content. Cheers!
Tony, perhaps you are an whiskey aficionado?
R.I.P good pal
Nice....
RIP Anthony
drink anything anyway YOU want to

Ive seen him drinking that a few times now, im guessing its good stuff, might have to treat myself for xmas.
No fault there. Basically all Balvenies will be worth your buck. :)

That’s a big dram of 🥃.
Balvenie 21. Good choice
rye whiskey with one big ice cube. with a glass water on the side
I learned literally nothing about how to drink whisky.
My thoughts exactly
Drink it with one ice cube. No more, no less.
1. Pour in glass
2. Pour in gullet
3. That is all

Whiskey (or whisky) does a number on your liver. Truth!!!!!!!!!
Ofcourse it's one of the strongest alcoholic beverages out there. Enjoy in moderation.
Wish he would have taken a couple shots of the elixir to remedy his emotional ailment in France

For somebody who admits to wasting much of his life sitting on a sofa and getting high, he's making up for it. He's literally everywhere.
Better late than never
How many wanna be anthony bordains can there be the next best thing.
The only rock that should be anywhere near your whiskey should be coming from the jukebox!
cool dude
Canadian Whiskey is best.
Are you kidding? Canadian whiskey is BY FAR the worst. shit tastes like it was aged in the gastank of a snow machine.
Al Hi. mmm snow machine gas tank
what do you recommend?
I think this guy has never had a real Canadian whiskey only that cheap shitty shit we sell to Americans
My dad drank Balvenie
All the barrels used to age irish whisky and Scotch are used bourbon barrels from America
Is that right? (hint: you're wrong)
Google it, if it weren't for bourbon there would be no scotch or irish whiskey...........FACT! Sorry AlHI
Irish Whiskey is aged in bourbon, rum or fortified wine barrels, scotch is now primarily aged in bourbon but to say there would be no whiskey with out bourbon is insane since it was invented in Ireland (some say Scotland) before westerners ever set foot in Kentucky.
it was just an interview...they never drink the whiskey
Ice dulls flavor. Having said that, if you want to add mustard, thats the way you should drink it.
haha now I want to see whisky with mustard! Thanks for watching
Mark Wilson... Mustard goes great with soup especially one that has ham in it....with booze?
Woman is cool as heck
with a terrible, child like voice.
thanks very much!
oh well -we can't help our voices can we? Cheers and thanks for watching
Her voice is totally normal, you dumb son of a bitch. That said, she very obviously wanted to cheat on her husband during those five minutes.
wait she's reading new comments of a video from 2 years ago? Somebody needs some ego stokes to keep the sense of self worth alive lmao
So im doing it right.... but on a side note she has a really cool personality. kind of a smart ass. shes like a bro.
gotta try whiskey with game though. i bet some roast pig. oh brah
Bourbon 1 rock splash of h20
missed opportunities here.
Rename the video
Funny, not much whisky drinking happening in this video.
That pronunciation of Balvenie hurt my ears
What type of whisky is he drinking here
Scotch
"Whisky".
Yes that's how it's spelled in Scotland
i.e. How to drink like an alcoholic.
I don't want to drink anything like this guy
I don't see any "drinking" part , is it too much to ask?. it was wrong from the beginning to bring a chatty girl like that into this topic. just shut up and drink
Scotland?? Naahhhh! Bourbon is WAY better 🇺🇸
are they real tho?
That girl didn't really take to scotch....as a lot of girls do not
Learn to title your vids.
apologies if you don't like it! Thanks for watching
It's Whiskey not Whisky

her nervousness is annoying. Stop false laughing.
