I love General of the Armies. I agree about it being more blue than green once it dries. Mine lays down a beautiful green color then it changes to a blue-green. It’s so unique.
If you mentioned it, I missed it... what paper/notebooks are you using? I want to start a swatch journal and have tried several with unhappy results. Suggestions?
Hi, Alexsandra. I'm swatching in two A5 notebooks, the plain Hobonichi and the Midori. I also did a sheet on loose A4 Hobonichi paper and tipped it in to one of the books so I could reference them all side-by-side.
Haha--agreed on the HDT ink. I would never put it in a pen. I'm getting ready to teach The Crucible, so this is especially funny. This would be the ink Salem Puritans and McCarthyists would have used to name names.
Pretty cool and very informative, thanks! One question ... of all the inks you're familiar with, would you say that Noodler's tends to be the most "water resistant"?
Hi, Michael, good question. Of the Noodlers inks I own, several are water resistant: Lexington Gray, Heart of Darkness, and General of the Armies. I don't currently have--but would love to try--some of the Noodlers non-black water-resistant inks.
Have a 30 ml. bottle of Diamine Apply Glory, and love it! Have you tried Diamine Sherwood Green? One of my top favorite greens in my collection. I think of the movie Robin Hood whenever I write with this ink.

Yes! I have to admit to loving shape-shifting colors!

I am a fan of the murky greens. Also run away from that Henry David Thoreau!!! That is the devil’s ink!!!!

Hi, Kelley, I haven’t tried the Sherwood Green, but LOVE the literary allusion, so I’ll look into it! Thanks for the recommendation…
