    That tip about the scrap of fabric behind the lanyard so as to help your presser foot work properly, that was an awesome tip. I've been sewing crafts for years and never thought of that!!!

    I make these, but I put the ring on before I make the circle loop and sew up the sides. At the end I run a stitch back and forth about a half inch above the d ring. Super quick.

      Hi! My machine doesn't require oil... Most if the newer models doesn't need it but check your manual.. if you have older one i would recommend everytime before you use the sewing machine.

    would it be easier to just put ring on at the end? Just because new to sewing and the ring would scare me that it hit it with the needle?
    In new to the sewing world. And live this project idea and will be trying it soon. That's why ask questions!!!

    What is the point of doing back stitch at the ends if your just st going to cut them off??? Wouldn't it just ravel then? I'm just learning to sew that's why asking. Would it make more sense to cut desired length then sew so the back stitch is at the end instead of just getting cut off?
    Or do u really need to back stitch at all? Is that the equivalent to making a knot when hand sewing or does the Machine make knots at every stitch??
    I just got a sewing machine and looking for something fun and easy to make so I can learn to use it properly.
    I was looking at making this with just ribbon but the fabric is a great idea!!!
    It would be much more sturdy plus u can just take out key ring and throw in the wash!! Brilliant!!!!

    • @EcinajCraftandStuff
      @EcinajCraftandStuff  7 лет назад +1

      hi Tonia, yes it is the equivalent of tying a knot when handstitching. My point of backsticthing is first, the ends are secured if ever i did not want to cut the ends, secondly, it wouldn't unravel even when it's cut of because the ends will be folded in when it is time for securing the split ring. Also , for your second comment question, i attached the split ring the way i did because if the ends were sewn and the loop was made, i will have trouble opening the split ring and also i did not want to break my thumbnail hahah! You will not hit the split ring with the needle if you hold the project piece steady straight. Thank you for watching my video! have fun sewing.
